More gameplay, more services, more Scenarios! Skyhook Games are adding more to three UK route Add-ons with the second release in the Cargo Line series. Cargo Line Vol.2 - Aggregates is coming 9th May! Readers of our April Roadmap and those following Skyhook Games’ own blog posts will already be aware of what’s coming in this gameplay pack. Below we go into some more details about the services and Scenarios added to three route Add-ons (for players than own them) as well as even more Midland Main Line upgrades, including visual improvements and some extra service layers from other Train Sim World content! We’ll also hit an important milestone for this release, with it being the 100th Add-on available for Train Sim World 4! NEW Wagon: HOA Bogie Hopper This pack centres around the addition of the new HOA Bogie Hopper Wagon to facilitate more services across three routes where the movement of aggregates is key. Broadly speaking, aggregates consist of any collection of rocks. In the aggregates industry, this can be crushed stone, sand, gravel, and slag for use in the construction, for example. In Cargo Line Vol.2 - Aggregates, these Wagons are generated in-game in different variants as part of a consist, much like the varied containers that appear within freight consists from other Train Sim World releases. Skyhook Games have implemented random spawning of graffiti and branding on the HOA Bogie Hopper Wagons. On Great Western Express and Southeastern Highspeed, branded wagons (without graffiti) appear with VTG branding. In Midland Main Line, these wagons appear unbranded. The Routes Involved At two of the relevant real-world routes, there are facilities that help load and unload aggregates from trains for further movement by road or processing on site. In Great Western Express, this is done at a number of places including West Drayton, Hayes and Southall. Trains run between these locations and the route’s western end point at Reading, where they continue out of the map as AI. In real life, these services head through to Somerset and South Wales. In Midland Main Line, the aggregates facility at Mountsorrel has been redone and updated to accommodate these trains on both timetabled services and in Scenarios. These trains also have end points well beyond the confines of the map, with the in-game services travelling to either Leicester or Nottingham at either end of the route. Southeastern Highspeed doesn’t have any aggregates processing facilities, but a number of Scenarios have been included centred around engineering works which sometimes result in these trains passing through Medway. Mountsorrel Yard Work Process the latest arrival of hoppers at the Mountsorrel Railhead. 6E22 Mountsorrel Railhead - Doncaster Decoy A regular delivery of material to the facility at Doncaster, although today it will be running via Lincoln. Drive between Mountsorrel and Nottingham. Midland Main Line Updates In addition to the services and Scenarios, Skyhook Games will be pushing even more updates to their Midland Main Line route. The area around Mountsorrel will receive some updates to facilitate the loading and unloading of aggregates as well as an interactive Portakabin. Highlights of the update are listed below: Added working interactive loader and interactive Portakabin at Mountsorrel Railhead. Added interactive Portakabin at Etches Patch depot Class 158 improvements including PIS destination fixes, better performance, reduced door closing time and other visual improvements and fixes. HST improvements to the headlight spread and colour, dial needles when illuminated, cab light and ride height correction to the power car. Recast of all static AI layers from other Train Sim World content including addition of Blackpool Branches, Cargo Line Vol.1 and Southeastern Highspeed JNA Wagons. Corrections to route indicators at some junction signals. Corrections to some speed limit changes. Improvements to trackside vegetation Addition of two playable Flying Scotsman rail tour layers (1Z37 & 1Z38) for players that own that content. Amendments to platform placement for Class 158 services at Derby and Nottingham And more...! A full changelog will be outlined in the Dovetail Games Forums on release or on the Skyhook Games website. Drive from Acton to Hayes Railhead. 6C51 West Drayton Railhead - Whatley Quarry With unloading complete, undertake the first portion of this trains return to the West Country. Drive from West Drayton to Reading via Southall. Southeastern Highspeed Whilst there are no timetabled Aggregates services in Southeastern Highspeed, there are some additional Scenarios: 6V18 Allington Aggregates - Whatley Quarry Continue the journey of this service from Allington railhead, operating the train between Strood and Dartford. 6Y73 Hoo Junction - Tonbridge West Yard Closure for engineering works on the Medway Valley means this routine run must go the long way round to reach Tonbridge this time. Drive from Hoo Junction to Faversham. Additional Suffragette line service layers: In anticipation of this release, we had already implemented several layered services into the London Overground Suffragette line timetable, so upon purchasing Cargo Line Vol. 2 - Aggregates, a selection of services will automatically appear on that route. Or Cane Creek, but to them, it seems like they took to DTG's route and abandoned US freight as well....
Now MML is becoming better and better, but I wonder if Skyhook can pay some attention to their other products like Cane Creek, Horseshoe Curve and Class 187 as improvement for those products are requested by players for a long time
Because of the sheer amount of new services, I'll get it, although I prefer passenger services over freight.
Looks really good! Been watching the preview videos and I'm really looking forward to this, definitely a day one purchase for me! I do have one question - in the preview an intermodal working is seen when the train being driven passes it.. however barely anything was said about it in the video and I can't find any mention on this post either, so I was wondering whether those intermodal services would be playable or not? Thanks!
Aw that's a shame, would have loved to drive them officially (in timetable mode) and not just through free roam.
That's an impressive amount of content added to 4 different routes, really makes this pack a worthwhile addition.
Looks like a great DLC, definitely picking it up. Hope Skyhook do the 222 next as it would be a great addition to MML with the Cargo line series, MML has potential to even have 156's and 153's.
Instant buy. I really like this Cargo line series although I normally prefer commuter services. Probably one of the best loco add ons. (Which is weird as we already own this loco multiple times)
I will too be adding this to my xbox and steam collections. Looks really good. I too prefer commuter services but this pack like Vol 1 is a must have.
Any DLC that improves the timetable of older routes for more long-term gameplay is the main reason why I really like stuff like this - especially for GWE considering it's one of the oldest in TSW. Would love to see many more older routes given some new gameplay by both DTG and other third-party devs too.
I'd love to see ECW get some more attention, I know that in reality there's not much freight there but I'd love to see it get updated to TOD4 or whatever it is, and get some more services like ECS, railtours, light loco moves and so on.. not sure whether many of them would be particularly realistic but I suppose railtours and light loco moves can happen at any given time and for the most part can go to/from anywhere I guess...
Absolutely agree, ECW is one of my all-time favourite routes. Personally, I'd love to see ECW have: - Add the missing Victoria-Eastbourne/Ore services via Lewes - Add more AI traffic at Brighton - While I'd like to see the route extended to Ore, I'd also like to see the 9-mile branch to Wivelsfield as well - As you say, more railtours would be great, such as the Flying Scotsman etc
Yeah, an extension would be good, I'm nit bothered where - just an extension in general! More AI traffic at Brighton is a must-have for sure, as are railtours (the latter being in my opinion at least)
Looks good but as discussed on the main forum, Class 66 is getting very tired now. We really need a new freight loco to complement what in fairness does look like a rather nice set of wagons. Probably one for a sale though. A Class 56 or Class 60 would have made this Day One purchase.
even another 66 with no EWS livery would be a nice thing to see if that's the only thing available. I'd love to drive something else though. but as germany is now. the 185 and 189 were everywhere. and now the vectron is taking that place. so even with the occasional 155 and 182. the 185 is still seen literally everywhere so although not very diverse, it is normal. unsure about england though
With the exception of the GBRf Biomass trains from Liverpool/Tyne dock to drax, anything run by DCR/Colas and DRS up the WCML, almost everything else is now hauled by class 66s (or variants there of). On a route by route basis freight is as follows: SEHS - Class 66/59 from GBRf/Freightliner and dB, occasional class 70 from colas and a variety of 73/69s from GBRf. (69s are later than the time the route is set) Gwe - class 66/59 on almost everything except the occasional class 70 on the cement train, or DCR class 60 on Bristol bound trains. WCML - almost entirely class 66 except for an occasional class 69 from GBRf or class 60 from DCR BML/ECW - the limited freight there is will be 59/66 hauled. Scottish routes - again, what limited freight exists will be predominantly class 66 hauled with occasional drs class 68/colas class 56/70 appearing) Goblin - again majority class 59/66 with occasional class 68 on the Daventry Tesco train. Cross city probably has the most variety as it sees class 70 from Freightliner and colas on occasions as well as 68s in various trains, but over a very short section of the route so not really key to the route in general. The most variety we see in the UK is over the west coast mainline between Crewe and Preston with regular GBRF class 60 turns, drs class 68/88 freight, regular class 90 from Freightliner and class 56/70 from colas. If we ever get this section of the WCML then there will be huge scope for extra freight locos to be entirely realistic. And yes before anyone comes up with the "odd working" there have been occasional use of dB class 60s over the routes in the last, but with dB now having stores it's entire class 60 fleet, and workings in the last 5 or so years being mostly on trains through Burton/Nottingham, I wouldn't say it's a must have for any of the routes we have in game at the moment.
It may be prototypical but the 66 is utterly boring now, ying, ying, ying. No reason why a bit of time period licence couldn't be allowed to slip in!
You must ask this question to your chosen service provider, which is Sony, not Steam, Epic or Microsoft. Just like you can have a discount in one supermarket and not the other, which is not a thing the manufacturer/supplier decides, but the store owner. Sony have their own store and make discounts when they deem it suitable.
No discount on xbox unless you are an game pass player then you get 10% on anything you buy to play, but you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to become a game pass player.
That's not how discounts work in supermarkets, they are always negotiated via the manufacturer/supplier, who will be offering the product to the supermarket at a discount in order for it to be discounted for customers, the supermarket is rarely the one taking the hit.
After watching BA's streams this morning, I am wondering if Skyhook did some updating to the cab of the 66 they are releasing with the pack. It looks slightly different to the ones we currently have.

I am not a game pass player but DTG have said that the 10% discount doesn’t always show at 10am on the day of release and can take up to 24 hours before it’s available. Anyway it is virtually impossible to find any new release immediately on launch on the Microsoft uk store website. It just doesn’t work as well as it does on Steam!
Ah, I am a game pass player, but I don't have game pass ultimate. Ha! Yeah, thankfully usually these new DLCs come out while I'm in school and by the time I'm home usually it's appeared, It'll be the same situation tomorrow...
Having just bought V1 I would be a bit gutted. What would be nice to see down the road though is a deluxe pack including 1 and 2 plus a nice Class 56 or Class 60 to haul them.

Ok, I am an Xbox player and haven’t heard of a bundle available for consoles. Maybe wait to purchase in case one appears but it will only probably save you 10%. I also play on Steam so will take advantage of their offer.
Unfortunately, I held off on MML until it was fixed, and since it was fixed it hasn't been on sale. So that bundle isn't much of a bargain.
