Sorry, can't get what you mean with that. The main difference between TOD3 and 4 on a vehicle is the lights (headlights, indicators and such). There is something in the blueprints that can cope with exactly that (it's made for that). Just a matter of correct setup.

 

Why is the 218 Not Available on Niddertalbahn?

 

Because there probably wasn't enough time to re-do the timetable for the Niddertalbahn to accumulate the 218?

On a side note, wasn't it mentioned in the April roadmap that the Maintalbahn would make use of the 218 too? Has that been cancelled? was initally really looking forward to driving it there, on this nice little branchline.

I probably reacted too hastily earlier. I just really can't play TOD3 content at night at all- everything just looks inky black to me. Not to mention the lack of bridge/tunnel reverb and other little touches that stand out as missing now that they've become standard (for the most part).

 

Jeez, some of you sound like kids in the back seat going "Are we there yet?" every five miles.

Yes, this would make it even more work required to introduce it on the Niddertalbahn.

 

I hope you and the team have some time in the future for the BR420 and the 232. Would really be a shame if these two trains wouldn't come to TSW. But apart from that i always look forward to content from your Team. Keep up the great work

 

Niddertalbahn is the wrong era to put a traffic red train on it.

 

Yes, but just as you provided the 628 in two liveries for two eras, surely the 218 can be as well? After all, converting Verkehrsrot to Orientrot livery isn't a big job.

 

Once the 218 is out, I'll put it in my Niddertalbahn Modern timetable.

 

A Second Livery to create should be Not the issue or a modern Timetable with the 218 and Dostos and the BR 642

 

Tsg aren't a team of robots you know. They are a very small team and be grateful you are even getting anything

So you think the tsg team are robots and they should sacrifice their free time and sleep to make it. They would have to rebuild the entire timetable to even make a 218 work in the first place. Be grateful you're even getting anything

 

Can you imagine if roadmaps weren't monthly, how much of this there would be?

I agree. The audio on the North American freight is woeful. I was filming GP38's, GEVO's and SD70ACes on Saturday and they sounded thunderous and awesome, not like the feeble wheezy noises we get. I hope for a lot more NA freight with High Iron, as well as new routes. Not a fan of passenger services myself.

 

It'll probably still a long while out there, but I can't wait to see the first renderings of rolling stock to be used on the Tadami Line! The route, from what we can see looks great!

Fingers crossed for the Kiha 40 / 47 DMUs making a TSW debut.

 

I just wish they would add the azuma guard buzzer in..

 

They are working on a big summer update that's also updating the 801 in terms of sound so maybe we'll see it then but we won't know until they release actual patch notes

 

I hope the 801 changes take on board the brilliant videos LNER put out of one of their actual drivers playing the game, as it was a really good insight into how accurate it is, a great mix of compliments alongside a few observations where it isn't how it is in real life.

Off the top of my head the ones I remember were the speed is actually limited to 124 not 126mph, the vigilance is disabled if the reverser is in neutral, and the snow brake setting doesn't impact the braking anywhere near as much in real life as it does in game.

 

That's cool. The running sounds definitely need fixing etc. I just think it adds immersion if they add the buzzer etc. It's the little stuff that counts.

 

And also pretty sure speed set or selected speed is a thing on azumas so would be good to see that too

 

I think every 3 or 6 months would be better than annually, but considering how little changes month on month, it's really not worth doing every month.

A yearly "road map" which sets out plans for the forthcoming year, with maybe an update every 3 months would work well, and allow the developers more time to do other things instead of constant updates with little progress.

 

The roadmap in May was terrible, and releasing it in June is doable if there are no new routes and things for people to talk about.

 

When is the next roadmap?

 

Hopefully will be better than this recent one!

Yeah was wondering just because I thought they were evert 5 weeks yet was very surprised to see this recent roadmap come at 4 weeks after last one!

 

They are supposed to be monthly, first week of the month, but this May there were key people on holiday so it was postponed a week.

 

"Key person", if this is the case, then the "key person" can be given half a year's leave. I have reason to believe that the road map in half a year will be very exciting.

I'm pretty sure that if Alex took 6 months off the forum would completely melt down into dispair that DTG are ignoring everyone, it was bad enough reading everyone stropping when Matt took an extended break at the start of the year.

 

People: DTG pls communicate more with the community. Talk to us. Give us background info. Dev diaries. Interviews. Screenshots. Anything!

Also people: DTG stop doing a roadmap every month but do it only once a year.

 

The difference for me is that a Roadmap is once a month and will barely have any info on it on occasions, but when something has gone wrong in the here and now or a situation arises where communication from DTG would be helpful, we get nothing for weeks.

 

While I agree that the roadmap didn‘t show much this month, I‘d wish for it to contain more work in progress stuff.
Give us some screenshots of how the route/loco is created, show some artwork, show some pictures of the model being created, textured, give some more background information.
I think some time it was like this but in the recent past its basically only „X is coming in 3-6 months, Y is coming in 0 to 3 months“

 

Remember the time it was every two weeks?
After complaints about almost everything being repeated in each of the roadmaps, it changed to once a month... Maybe at the present times it should change to once every other month.

 

Please leave the road map alone! Personally, I want to see it at least once a month and I really look forward to its publication every time. If someone thinks that the roadmap is not informative enough, make suggestions for improving it. Otherwise, review it once a quarter or a year, as you see fit.
It is better to have such a roadmap than not to have one at all.

 

I like the new roadmap format. Way more comprehensive than previous formats.

 

Agree, personally I think the roadmap at the moment is quite good, the lay-out and articles, they always talk about something thats on the roadmap in depth which is really nice!

 

These aren't incompatible at all. Just don't do "roadmaps" and do "developer diary" articles that is simply an ongoing bunch of articles that come up regularly (weekly or whenever there is news to report) This "trickle" of news would probably work better. If there's no news... there's no news... but there's always SOMETHING coming out no matter how small to discuss and see progress on.

 

l agree leave it alone. I like it, but would prefer it to be the first Tuesday of the month. Which it has mostly been, but sometimes it slips a week, which is disappointing. IMHO keep it as it is please.

4th June is possibly just about acceptable; it'll have been shy of 4 weeks since the 9th May roadmap. But given DTG are out today and yesterday, I predict them doing Tues 11th to give more time to build stuff to talk about. 4 weeks after that (11th June) would be 9th July, and 4 weeks after that is 6th Aug, which gets the timetable back to more where it should be.
