Since the first train sim world we haven’t had a single Canadian route while the UK and the EU see most and only a few American routes, for a simulator that calls its self train sim world South America and Canada are not very well shown in the game
There is a canadian freight route. Dtg have no via and go license which means they can't create anything from them. They are the difficult licenses from what I hear and read. In regards to freight routes, dtg explained it's difficult because a Canadian freight route would require really long trackage to make sense, so would end up taking too long. South America and other countries also depend on licenses and 3rd parties to obtain and bring. Licenses apply to every route and if dtg don't have a license, they can't make it.
Canadian freight routes don't have to be so extremely long. At Sandpatch we got also a route between a freight yard (Cumberland) and a junction with the branch to a coal mine (Rockwood). So they could start a canadian freight route in a freight yard till one of the next sidings.
How about this Buffalo, NY to Toronto, ON remakes the OSD into an international route NYS to Canada Province of Ontario
This is wishful thinking in its entirety. Even if there was time and money, DTG would not be developed because there is no precedent in the train simulation world. Of course, I'd also like to look at Canadian long-haul routes and US cargo routes. That hope can only rest with third parties and us all-around train enthusiasts.
If there were indeed third parties and train enthusiasts taking advantage of the editor provided by DTG to create ultra-long freight routes in Canada, preferably 200 miles in length, I would be up all night hearing about this, even if I was willing to pay more money to support it.
