Hi does anyone know where I can find serz.exe for Train Simulator? I need to modify a few .bin files and can't open them without having serz.
serz.exe is in the RailWorks directory, but why not get hold of TS Tools which opens .bin files without having to convert?
It's no longer in my Railworks directory for some reason. I would prefer to have serz. I use to be able to "open" a .bin file by just clicking on it and it was automatically converted into a .xml file which was I was able to open, modify and then later convert it back to .bin. I would like to be able to do that again.
If serz, exe has been "lost" your easiest option is use the one in a backup....you do have a backup I hope?
I have a backup, I do not however have a backup specifically of serz and serz is not included in my existing backup unfortunately.
You don't want a verification to repair your installation, ok. So you'll just redownload the core package without any routes. 1. Press Win+R 2. Enter steam://open/console 3. In the new console tab, enter download_depot 24010 24009 4. Wait until you get the message that the download is finished, it will take a while as loose files are transferred which is 10x slower than .ap files 5. Now copy what you need from Steam\steamapps\content\ to your game folder You can then delete the steamapps\content folder.
Is it just possible to copy and paste the serz.exe file in the TS-Tools folder to the relevant folder in TSC?
Sorry I don't understand this comment the OP was loooking for a missing serz.exe file - what other files are missing? Please read what the OP states initially I am really getting a little tired of you dissecting every comment I make with no real ojective reasons. Do I really have to qualify a simple remark if I suggest copying from TS-Tools then surely the implication is that it is installed or you may need to get it. To both of you I was merely offering a much simpler solution of obtaining serz.exe than to verifiy files with all the inherent dangers in doing that.
Actually Peter, yes. Read his opening post, it certainly implies that he doesn't have RW/TS Tools installed. Your suggestion could give the impression that installing it would automatically provide a copy of serz.exe. Spike raises a valid concern, if serz, exe has gone AWOL it may not be the only file taking a vacation.
Exactly Gary. Strangely enough Serz(64).exe is missing on the OP's intallation. Instead of searching for breadcrumbs I offered a full backup of the core.
