You have never lived Cyclonias Devastationas (like biggus dickus only more impressive) LOL
Well i tried again to rectify some of the faults on the Central Wales Line route. But ended up punching the pc and kicking the cat.
Bloke just doesn't listen. i tried to advise him and help him on FB when he was creating the modern Cambrian.
But the route still ended up with the same tree used from 6 different payware dlc's. He has no idea about planning and rationalisation of assets.

Is this like being Zeus and throwing thunder wherever I like? :D
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

Yup with a little bit of Perses thrown in for good measure LOL
I just tried having a go at his Cambrian 1960's route. But there is shed loads of freeware needed and at my age i just do not have the patience to search for it all.

Yeah, I'm with IKB here...I did some signs for Matthew and he was bloody hard work then--refused to take advice, or possibly couldn't understand the advice so just "switched off"

And this right here is actually a real issue for people that haven't been around for 15 years, when people make scenarios with stock that are no longer obtainable. I remember this was my first real obstacle where even paid addons required either AP stuff and also assets from UKTS..which as I mentioned in several posts never approved my account, I just gave up after 3 years of trying to get a UKTS account.

I don't know, I even tried 3 different e-mails and nothing, Peter tried to tag Matt into the conversation in this thread to, but never got a reply. It really sucked because I felt like I had missed out on some great, british content. I don't mind so much now anymore because it just resulted in getting more heavily invested in german, swiss and dutch content. The british content I have is exclusively from Steam.

That's a surprisingly comprehensive site, and looks like it's been around a fair while too given the ukts links, I just hope the alternative links still work, can't test myself yet as I'm on my phone.

Was listed in the 5th post in this thread (which was the very 1st post that posted links), would you really think JT wouldn't have already been mentioned? They're rather well known lol. ;)

Although I normally buy thru Just Trains the Metropolitan route at £8.98 on Steam was so much cheaper than £30.99 direct from JT

Looks like he took a cue from Richard and wants to charge per scenario. Wonder how that's working for him. I'm more disgusted with the scenario pack that he charges for on a route you have to pay a mint just to access. I will probably pass here.

Unless the exchange rate really wants to screw you over, a single good old fashioned English Pound for a scenario isn't excessive. £4.50 for 7 scenarios (approximately 65p each, equating to a 33% or so discount) is therefore a pretty good deal; the price of the route is nothing to do with Mr Wright, certainly not now he has no ties to ATS.

I'm not blaming Mr. Wright for anything ATS at all. I just don't like the idea of paying for individual scenarios. I was critical of AP for that and still am. Structured scenario packs are a different story, mind.

(And I do consider his removing those a mistake.)

Pardon, but you're coming across as very greedy, the attitude being there's people having spent a lot of time creating content, making historically accurate scenarios and you just don't want to reward them for this.

I've happily paid 99 cents per scenario from Powerhouse, in turn I got hours of enjoyment.

And there's ever new free scenarios appearing, nobody except a few will cry for some outdated scenarios not being available any more.

Also withdrawal of old sound packs wasn't purely illogical, these are causing issues with repaints all over the place.

I am suggesting that scenario packs are better than charging for individual scenarios, to be clear, :)

    Good moaning!

    Unashamed plug . . .

As a Winter Solstice gift for those interested in steam-era routes, I have opened a new web site today to house my backdated routes and associated odds and ends all in one place.

Carinthia's Cubbyhole can be found at https://cubbyhole.co.uk

    Best regards,

    John (aka Carinthia)

    Whenever they announce it, perhaps?
Excellent! I know I have seen the Somerset route needed for a few scenarios at UKTS before.

It's ran by both me and Adam Haigh, Adam spends a lot of time on the scenarios so I think its fair to charge pocket change for them, its also not the only thing we are working on, plenty of stuff coming from us don't worry! Will be something for everyones liking eventually :D

We are also trying to keep our prices as affordable as possible for any project we work on whether thats just scenarios, software or even rolling stock :D

Understood, I just never like pay per scenario as a strategy. Scenario packs at a reasonable price, though, and themed around a few specific trains without adding way too much around it? That might be worthwhile. ;)

unsure is this a good place to put this here.
But I think AP has increased prices (by 2 pounds) again in their recent releases.

A usual locomotive EP cost about 14.99 pounds but now with the class 92 EP it cost about 16.99 pounds.
And the recently released JNA-T pack cost 7.99 pounds when most/usual wagon packs cost about 5.99 pounds.

I am much concerned. I know its just 2 pounds but still.

Yeah, Steam prices went up at one point too. I swear the truck sims got more expensive as well.

And therein lies the problem. Inflation is a right nuisance.

Ironically, when wages DO go up, that also increases the costs.

Hi guys. I thought I would ask in here.

Can someone check if Caledonia Works' Facebook is unavailable? I have sent an email to them but no response.

    There website works though.

I too noticed that Caledonia Works has disappeared from Facebook. CW has an active presence on the GAD (Golden Age Developments) Discord. I checked there and saw no reference to CW internet issues. However, CW_Kris hasn't posted on Discord / GAD since yesterday, 13 Feb 2025. He's usually fairly active there. Hopefully its just a temporary SNAFU.

Hopefully it's some kind of glitch. He's quite active on Facebook so can't imagine he'd just ditch it. It's my first port of call for news from developers. I don't use Discord.

He has a lot of exciting stuff on his roadmap and currently being developed.
