Hello, Does anyone know how to stop TSW from being stuck in a validation loop on Steam? It's getting annoying! I've tried clearing the cache but it hasn't worked. Thanks.
Try temporarily disabling some of your DLC (untick in the list). That will reduce the validation time, then gradually start adding back in two or three at a time.
It's not downloading anything though, it just keeps validating over and over again even though I haven't instructed it to do so! It gets to 100% and then just starts all over again!
Yes it will try and validate after it has downloaded which can take several hours if you have all the DLC. So please try my suggestion, go into your DLC list and untick at least 50% of the content which should significantly reduce the amount of Gb which need to be validated. If you interrupt the process it will always go back to the beginning again. I had the same issue with TSC when I reinstalled it. Had to untick nearly all my content and add back in bit by bit so the validation could take it in easy sections.
I think you've misread what I said, it gets to 100% and then re-starts the validation, it just does this constantly. It never stops doing it after 100%.
Ah. Then that is a bit different. Sounds like you either need to contact DTG or Steam support, who will doubtless try and blame each other. Or as suggested above try uninstall/reinstall. A bit messy but might be what they tell you to do. Or even just log out of Steam, close the app then shut down and restart your PC then log in to Steam afresh, before doing anything too drastic.
Hi coldo121 , Please try reinstalling the game, but when the download starts, open the DLC menu and untick everything. Let the base game install and launch it to verify a successful installation. Then add your DLC back.
Bit of a bump but the latest patch seems to have triggered this for me. Steam fell over initially with a file error or corrupt message, now it is stuck with the green validating line going up and down along with the estimated time, but no progress on the percentage bar. Will let it run a bit longer and see what happens but got a horrid feeling this might mean a full reinstall of the whole bl..dy thing. Edit: Well the validating completed and now TSW5 has decided it needs to download 80Gb worth of files... Way to go with the patch.
