    Hello.

It would be fab to see this part of the ECML, got plenty of stock available and could do slow and fast services including Northallerton at 125mph.

This could also join up to Doncaster to Peterborough if that was possible.

Fantastic suggestion, and could bring another OLR operator (transpennine express 802s) or cross country voyagers if they can get the licence.

As long as it starts from Doncaster so the two routes can connect.

Could maybe even also include the Leeds branch of the ECML.

I would rather have Kings X to Stevenage or Peterborough, so the Class 700 can layer in. The old girl deserves some more attention.

Only if done in a different era. Another Azuma bore fest would not sell the route to me.

I remember you making a post about a month ago, about leaving the cab door open on the Azuma. You said how much it improved the experience for you.
That burst of enthusiasm didn’t last long then.

It helps but still doesn't give the rush driving a Deltic, Paxman HST or even a Class 91 could impart. And you can only do it if driving from the Guard's/Luggage end of the formation.

If you mean another era are you saying that ECML Doncaster to Newcastle upon tyne must be set in 1980-1995 with the Deltic Class 56 Class 60 tug Paxman Valenta HST and Class 91s? I'm fine with the original posters present day and your 1980-1995 timeframe.

Few things I would like to see regarding the ECML as a standard for this route

    1. don’t miss bits, so as the original hasn’t gone to York this one would need to start in Doncaster or be from Edinburgh to Newcastle, honestly the current should be extended to York Leeds and Lincoln for some line sense, it’s a big extension all that but that is the reality of demand when York wasn’t included, otherwise it could have been just Leeds and Lincoln to do.

    2. I’m happy for multiple eras as long as the same section will be arriving in multiple times, not really any reality of connecting the route if the only parts are incompatible due to era

    3. cross country provided it could be acquired could be a good choice of base train, LUMO provided it could be acquired could be for the Newcastle - Edinburgh section.

    4. very eager to see all sections of the line, though they are big projects and I don’t expect them any time soon.
