That's very well done! The "wee wee" sound imo sound a bit to class 700 like but the motors themselves/gearbox (idk what it's called, sorry) sound pretty damn good! Well done!
And besides the Class 700 is wrong anyway, it should be using the ramp function. To remind you of the inductor recording.
Maybe not working GSMR but an active one is to be expected as it’s on pretty much all the new trains now minus the ROG 37 and HST. I wouldn’t get your hopes up with announcements though, this isn’t a Rivet or JT product and working announcements from DTG aren’t even on the roadmap as an expected feature.
The 380 with Rivets auto announcements would be pretty neat. Especially seeing as it's been added in on at least 2 routes now, there's really no reason why it shouldn't be a base feature moving forward. I'd prefer to have generic voice announcements over silence.
I wonder if we'll get some more information on the 380 soon, my guess is it might release mid-late June. Probably around the same time as the 158
Dtg have to create a core system. The techniques 3rd parties use is not necessarily the best technique for dtg to copy over and it might not work. The announcements currently are train specific, not a core system
Debatable. I'd be happier if they used the correct format, jingles and they actually knew how to say and when saying the calling points. It's ScotRail, not Avanti. XD
Oh I know, but given that on FCL, the announcements go off about 1/2 mile from the station suggests there is some form of coding set for announcements to trigger at set points, which is all we realistically need. Why would there need to be core programming? As long as it applies to the routes main fleet, it would be perfect.
I’m referring to the ones on Edinburgh to Glasgow, barring not saying High Level for QS they are pretty accurate. No idea what the ones on FC are like.
Irl all you do is type in a route code and it starts the announcements. You can activate special manual announcements to inform passengers about delays, etc but that is it.
I can’t lie at first I had low hopes for the 380 but now this could well possibly be one of the best uk loco add ons
I have a feeling could release quite soon, I feel like the 380 more than likely done or at the very least nearing the end of testing with the Cathcart update, maybe within the next 2 - 3 weeks we’ll get more.
Well if it had a similar announcement-release timeline as the 700 we would probably get a release early July, though It it could be sometime in june
The only thing is, in some of the screenshots the lighting is great but- In others it looks like a Flashbang's just been set off... Ok i exaggerate but i think the lighting in Glasgow Central was the best on the whole route before and hopefully this update doesn't mess that up. Still really happy about this update though
Oooh! That's interesting. Though avanti don't run 7 car trains (Aside from the 807s which aren't in use yet), Probably a railtour? (Edit: It's a 380 placeholder)
That one is from an older build where the light baking wasn't finished. Here's a newer pic with more recent lighting baking touches. Of course this is still a work in progress so there may changes for release.
Now that's what I like to see at Glasgow Central! Much busier! Loving the effort they put into this! Love the wee details like the Largs a.i. having the p.i.s stations, shared platforms, etc. Looks brilliant so far!
This is looking great. This will be one of my favourite routes, it is already one I play a lot. The 380 has a face only a mother could love but it looks very well modelled and quite striking. It will be interesting having two quite different EMU's to drive the route. The extra AI will being the route to life too.
So I had to do some platform shuffling when it came to 158s and 385s sharing with the 380. If they shared platforms, you'd need the 158 and 385 just to run the 380 services, which is not ideal. So they had to go in slightly different platforms, sometimes sharing with other 158s etc. I decided to put placeholder Avanti AI in just so I can visually "bookmark" those platforms and not end up putting trains in the wrong places. They're just a 7 car 380. There's also a 4 car 380 for a placeholder TPE trains as well. But these have both been disabled now. It was just to make sure I didn't make the 158 and 385 hog platforms that aren't actually free. I did put all the details like TOC and off world destinations for PIS in just so if we do get the right trains, it's a quick swap. Indeed and there's quite a lot of shared platforms throughout the day, like a LOT. Also Largs is just one of the AI, you also got AI to places like Ayr and Lanark etc etc basically everything UNLESS?!
This is looking tremendous!! Potentially end up being the best route there is, due to the stock variation and upgrade. Hope it’s released soon, essentially take my money!
