It doesn't care about your arrival time that's for sure.
Have you used an emergency brake or got any serious wheel slip?

On some routes they are picky with the stop markers. If you are too far away it can result in a X. Also if you close the door before it prompts you to do.
On the other side i havent played GWE since the Founders Edition on Xbox (cause i played it a lot there) but i can remember that i run into that issue on this particular route aswell. So maybe they never fixed it for this route and it shows those X even if you are doing mostly everything right. You might notice when you switch the route that you get the green marks while you might Arent doing anything in particular different there.

I got this from the TSW editor premiere livestream (time 00:30:45).
It looks like you have to fit withing the Go to Tolerance to get a checkmark. This tolerace is probably very low on GWE.

Yes, but as far as I know this only affects whether or not you trigger the 'Objective complete' condition (in other words, whether the game recognises that you have, in fact, successfully stopped at this station). The only thing I know of that affects your timetable performance, with reference to the green ticks or red crosses, is whether your stopping time is within the 'Early Tolerance / Late Tolerance' margins.

There are some slightly weird settings for these on GWE, as reported by many. In some cases being a minute early can earn you a red X! In general, though, as long as you are within two or three minutes of the scheduled time, you're fine.

Those are settings from the editor used to create the routes and services. So no these Arent ps4 settings, those settings are in the game for certain objects.

    Now I'm confused as well.
I have stopped quite far from the marker, arrived late, used sharp braking in both cases and still got a checkmark.
TrainSim-Matt I'm sorry to call you but we might need a professional explanation of the checkmark system.

Its just based on time, i think leeds has about a 5-10 minute allowance, beyond that you get the cross.

Some earlier routes were as low as 1 minute (early as well as late) but we've been relaxing that a lot in later routes.

    Good to know Matt!
TS19 is very strict and times are sometime set too hard. 5 minutes is good tolerance. One fial on safety system takes about 1-3 minutes so you can still manage your drive in time frame.

Can you clarify what the game means by "arrives" Is it when you hit the arrival marker or when you open the doors? I've been arriving up to three minutes early on GWE and getting red crosses even though it does mark the scenario as completed despite this

Getting a red cross does not impact whether or not the scenario gets marked as completed.

    Thanks Matt.
It's nice that the game won't punish you for arriving a minute late (based on the "delay that is smaller than 5 minutes is not reported" rule).

I get red crosses for arriving early at Paddington non-stop from Reading which seems a bit daft. I should be getting extra points!

Nope, early is almost as bad as late, trains are supposed to run "on time" :)

If you're ahead of your slot for a particular signal, you'll probably hold up some other train that was meant to be before you, then that train will hold up another train, and your five minutes early turns into twenty minutes late for every other service on the line... so yes, you won't be popular. Luckily, excessive earliness isn't usually a problem on TSW routes.

That can only happen due to bad station management. Being late can cause such delays if you are driving a high priority train (Intercity, Eurocity) because the station would not let lower priority trains ahead of you.

What utter nonsense. If a another train is meant to be ahead of me, it will be signalled ahead of me.

For passenger trains, leaving early is bad but arriving early isn't a problem. If it was, you'd be held by a signal.

It's common for freight trains to run early (in the UK anyway). I note that freight trains in TSW never seem to be marked for time.

Good to know! Thanks for helping me learn. I like your refreshingly blunt teaching style.
