On the Breaking the Bank scenario, I keep getting a scenario failure message once the first train reaches the top. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or if I’m doing something wrong.
I didn't realise that was possible. I thought that occurred when your fire had been extinguished. Then again, I have Spirit of Steam, and not Peak Forest. tehangrybird, have you encountered this with the automatic fireman? If you don't want to drive with the automatic fireman, perhaps leave the firebox door open for the entire trip, to ensure the fire doesn't go out.
I have steam firing mode set to manual. But the fireman ai is still constantly shoveling coal into the firebox. So I don’t think that’s the issue.
To solve 'Breaking the Bank'. As you pass the station at the top of the bank, switch to the outside view and make sure you stop the lead locomotive before the signal before the tunnel (or at the indicated stop mark) not your Banker. The scenario will then play out as normal.
A "scenario failure" does mean that you have run out of fuel/water/steam. If you have manual or assisted firing enabled you are responsible for managing these resources. Please try again with automatic firing and you shouldn't have any problems.
Even with automatic firing you still need to manually open the firebox door when setting up the loco to trigger it.
