Something has been bothering me for a while so I booted up Birmingham tonight to find my suspicions confirmed. The class 66, in all it’s forms, does not appear as AI traffic unless you chose to run a class 66 service. I had suspected this as I have not seen a 66 in kings Norton depot since before the content manager went live. DTG Matt any chance of this getting rectified?
Let me go ask the team what the deal is here - I suspect it's because those services are set to run in specific months, which wont stop you running them as a player any time, but you wont see them as AI unless you are at the right time of the year - but i'll go check that. Matt.
I did think that but when I selected the RHTT service in May all of the RHTT services in the yard (3 of them) appeared which wouldn’t be the case if they were all independent and seasonal would it?
On the topic of layers and substitutions. Would it be possible to look into what seems to be broken substitution right now? especially in german routes is the variety way reduced from TSW3. Creators club also clashes with it as the same vectron in a CC livery is in every run on salzburg-rosenheim in the same position (same with a 37 on goblin)
I was held south of King's Norton once and watched the top of a freight go through ahead (left to right). It was the early evening playable 66, around 19:35 if memory serves. I thought it was odd being held there, but yes it does happen!
Gameplay team have just looked, spawning in on foot and seeing freight no problem. They've also confirmed that all the freight layers except RHTT are set for Jan->Dec so not a month issue. The RHTT spans October to November only however. Looking at the specific layers to activate them: BBA layer requires SEH EWS Class 66 and Tees Valley BBA's HKA layer requires SEH EWS Class 66 and GWE DBS HKA's FKA layer requires SEH EWS Class 66 and GWE EWS FKA's PCA layer requires SEH EWS Class 66 and Tees Grey PCA's (class 31 pack i believe) JNA layer requires SEH EWS Class 66 and SEH JNA's Can you check those are present and then send me some specific examples not working as you'd expect so we can check those? Hi Matt, I think this was my error and confused by the fact that if you choose a single RHTT service 'out of season' you seem to get all of them appear in route even if they are AI and out of season Kings Norton is empty of all stock...... simply put, it just looked 'odd'. I have checked some RHTTs as 'on foot' and in October and they do appear as AI, I can also confirm that all the freight layers do indeed appear to be present. Apologies for the work caused. Phill
No problem - and yes I can confirm layers are aonly able to be activated as a complete entity so if you run a train out of season, the entire layer it belongs to is activated. Thanks for confirming. Matt.
I've had so much trouble with the game since I bought it, the scenario planner is broken I can't get them to work I keep trying to create multiple routes but I can't scroll and select a destination or endpoint and I don't know if I can fix it myself that's why I'm reaching out. I'm also having trouble with the F7 hauling passenger cars for some reason I can't move with passenger cars connected I've tried all the breaking setups but it's still not working. Is there a way to fix this?
The F7 cant currently haul passenger cars because you can't set it to 110psi equalising reservoir, it can only do the 90psi freight equalising reservoir, which is not enough to allow the brakes to come off on the passenger cars. In reality there's a valve that lets you control it but that wasn't modelled in this case. One option might be to spawn it with a normal passenger loco like an ACS-64, once the brakes are set and released and everythings charged up - then do a full service application of the train and wait for everything to come down in pressure. Then uncouple and remove the passenger loco, put your F7 on - and in theory - it ought to be able to then release the brakes and run them with a 90psi limit... i've not tried this though. I might do that later and see if it works. For your scenario planner issues - i'll need a lot more info so if you can maybe record a video (perhaps via your phone) then I can see if I can understand what's happening and explain it for you. Hi Matt I have managed to get the custom routes working somehow I don't know how but it works now also the thing u told me to do with the F7 worked thank you for that I do appreciate you taking time out of you day to help me, I had another couple last questions about the game and it's future and then I will be out of your hair. Im having some framerate issues I have a keyboard that I can pull up the games framerate and in a normal game Im getting at most 19 fps with only 46ish or so cars attached on all routes and trains the only time I ever get 50 fps is with 1 engine and nothing else and it makes the game feel kind of slow. And another thing I noticed was that there are some out of bounds tracks on some routes that are inaccessible to the player and was wondering if there will ever be plans on extending that boundary so we can get to more of the parts that are usually not accessible to the player. I would also like to make a suggestion or put my idea out there for a American steam, I think it would be very cool since I used to live by a scenic steam line over in Durango,CO I think it would be a nice addition to have some American power to this lovely game like a small tank engine, scenic steam route or just something massive like the Big Boy, anyway thank you so much for letting me ramble on and on and thank you very much with helping me with some of the problems that i have come across with your game
I tried the thing with the F7 last night and it doesnt work - it was a long shot. If you use the GP38-2 and put it in "passenger" mode on the cut-out you can see it bumps the EQ up to 110, the BP follows, and then you can release the brakes and go - that's what's missing on the F7. What system are you using to play the game? Matt.
Xbox one, I tried it like this F7, F7 reversed, Boston sprinter f40, btc coach x6, Boston sprinter f40 reversed. I then set the first f40's brakes to cutout and lead then set up the F7 brakes, cutout then freight lap, and it worked. I was gonna try detaching the first f40 and use the back f40 as the cut out and lead so that it's only the first two f7s up front but my game crashed and I decided to give it a rest for a while. Also will there ever be a update on console that allows you to pull passengers with the F7 because I feel like it would bring a lot more to the F7 possibilities?
