    On some German routes the PZB urgently needs an update, particularly on the Rapid Transit route, and the BR187 series needs another sound update as many sounds in the driver's cab are missing which weren't there before, and the BR204 still needs a compressor sound.

    I'm not sure about the German routes but certainly the PZB on the Austrian routes needs fixing. All of the 500 Hz magnets seem to behave as 1000 Hz magnets.

    Haven't noticed PZB issues on RT yet, but I know that HMA is rife with them; green signals with hot 1000hz magnets. Let's hope this will be fixed with the German-US patches coming later this summer.

    Austrian railways do not place 500Hz magnets before red signals as often as german railways do. Most signals do not have them. Those 1000Hz magnets are probably related to something else in the area.

    True, but I these are locations where I'd expect a 500 Hz magnet. For example approaching Wiener Neustadt on Semmeringbahn, about halfway down the platform as you approach the red signal you get a 1000 Hz acknowledge message. It's even mentioned in the preview stream that there are 500 Hz magnets at this location (which is why I noticed it).
    Admittedly I'm not sure on other locations but I noticed something similar on Salzburg Rosenheim (I think I was pulling in to Salzburg at the time) which made me suspect there was a bigger issue.

    What do you guys mean? At least we have some random probability of failure, just like in real life :)

    ...and it takes about as long to fix said failure as in real life, unmatched immersion!

    I haven't played this route yet, but could it be that at that location is a digital repeater with a yellow border? Like shown on this page: http://www.styria-mobile.at/home/Austro-SwissRailwaySignalling/asr/ensigasn.html . If they have a yellow border, and they show an 'Expect stop', those are accompanied by a 1000Hz magnet and require acknowledging.

    Thanks. I had a look and there are digital repeaters at both Wiener Neustadt and Salzburg. So that explains it.

    Have to agree with OnlyMe1909 that I've not encountered any PZB issues regarding Rapid Transit.

    So you want to tell me that it is normal that you have to acknowledge a Ks1 (drive) signal with Zs3v code 10 with "Wachsam"?
    You have to acknowledge everything that goes up to code number 8 or 9.
    ZS3v = speed indicator

    About PZB issues on Rapid Transit: there are signals showing green (nothing else), but you have to acknowledge because the next signal will show a restriction that is expected for the next signal. I can't remember encountering them in the official timetables, but in my costum timetable there are particularly around Bitterfeld often situations where you get braked because you didn't acknowledged a normal green signal which you don't have to acknowledge (that affects mostly freight trains as they get sometimes stopped by slow passenger trains).

    I don't know if it ever got mentioned (it probably did) but PZB itself is often incorrect. In PZB-Mode "O" you must not drive 85 km/h or faster while 1000 Hz is active. In the restrictive surveillance (I have no plan how to translate that correctly) you are limited to 45 km/h. The problem is that you get sometimes instantly into the restrictive surveillance while driving with a relative low speed. For example, you drive around 50 km/h and accelerate, at the same time you acknowledge a signal with '70 expected'. Instead of a restriction to 85 km/h after 23 seconds you get instantly slapped for exceeding 45 km/h and that is just wrong.

    Yeah this has actually happened to me recently even in BRO while entering one of the two main stations. Was doing 55 (limit 60), acknowledged a 50 expected, got Zwangsbremsung immediately because the train somehow put itself in Restricted and I was over 45.

    And may I say what an absolute fabulous timetable it is that you created! For those that own RT I really highly recommend you download his timetable, it brings the route to life! I have been on RT more times in the past week than I previously did altogether since I've owned it, DTG may notice a spike in playing hours on this route now!
