Which Routes Deserve Tod4 Upgrades?

There are many routes that deserve being upgraded to the newest tod4 lighting, but if you had to pick 3, which ones? Apologies if I’ve missed any

 

HRR need a expansion to koln and Dortmund

 

Doesn't NEC Boston Providence already have TOD4 lighting?

Also Oakville gets a mention but Clinchfield doesn't exist......

And btw, all 3 NY routes already have ToD4 so those can be taken off. I also don’t see the point in doing anything with LIRR 1, all it’s good for is layers for NYT now.

 

I voted for the BML a well known route been in TSC and a stunning drive in places. Would also love a 455 on it for local runs as well.

 

NTP or TVL

 

BML is one of those routes that would benefit from a remaster with the 700 added.

TOD4 will do though.

 

NTP, oh hold on not on there. Ok fair does, TVL then... not on there either. Right third time lucky then, GWE. Oh, um, not sure what to answer now...

 

Only voted for London to Brighton as it was the only real contender for me, and as I mentioned on another thread it would be brilliant if it was given a overhaul and TOD4 and for many other reasons other members have already listed... There was no Northern Transpennine included in the options, which would of been a joint contender for me. I can only imagine how great it would look... it is a underrated route that always seems to be left out.

I think DT are dipping their toes in the water with the TOD4 treatment, as we started off with WSR, and Cathcart Circle is a larger route and is another step forward... So hopefully a larger route is in the pipeline next? Although, I believe Liam is the one dedicated to bringing Cathcart upto scratch and he has done a stirling job from the teasers I've seen so far!

ik TSW still havent regain a first group licences yet. But you're missing the Great Western Express route. I just want the trains (mainly that anyway) to be upgraded as well as some branches on the line that are requested by many.

 

Would love to see BML with the Class 455 and 700 added, BKL with a new London Overground timetable to enhance the Watford DC Line section, and ECW with a Class 171 and the new/upgraded BML trains at Brighton.

 

BML and ECW. It’s surprising DTG never updated this route (ECW) since this was always featured on their 4UP challenge streams, back in the TSW2 era. ECW was always a personal favourite of mine, as it reminded me of going away to the seaside with the family on the weekend. Used to go to Herne bay and Margate a lot by train. The good ole slam door demu’s.

 

As I said, I may have missed some off so it would’ve been better for you to just tell me that instead of making it seem like a big deal

 

Hamburg to Lubeck definitely, tie in with the 218.

Also voted Clinchfield as it is so dark in those steep valleys.

HRR! It's a german rush hour route long before rush hour was a thing. It needs a new timetable with all the stock we have now, especially the ICE 1 and 3 and the expert 101 with the cab car.

 

A lighting upgrade only would be wasted on routes. But combine it with loco dlcs and extensions, definetly.

Example: extend eastcoastway to hastings or ashford + add a.i (gatwick / 700) in brighton. On top the tod4 upgrade.

 

An SEHS x BML x ECW would be amazing

 

For me East Coastway could do with some love, it's a great route but showing its age relative to the newer releases.. and it desperately needs an upgraded timetable to add the missing Lewes - Eastbourne services, that alone would be a huge improvement for me!

 

i cant remember, what time did the BML route took place in? was it before the class 455/8s retirement?

 

Quite an easy choice for the routes that most deserves a TOD 4 in my opinion:

1 - BML: Plus a timetable update to include the Class 700, even if just the /0.
2 -RSN: Along with the above, is one of the best all-time routes in TSW history; also would like to see the single-track branch-line to Iserlohn and AI traffic at Hagen Hbf included.
3 - HBL: Has always been one of my favourite routes, and now the fact the 218 is coming as a loco DLC, it really does need a TOD 4 update when compared to Cathcart etc.

 

It was before the 455 replacement, can’t remember the exact year.

 

I don’t know how many threads I’ve seen now, with fans asking DTG to give BML the TOD4, remaster/remake treatment. I hope DTG are playing attention.

Clinchfield technically doesn’t need to be on this list. Matt is working on a remaster for the route. (Which I can’t wait for).

 

Oh really? I'm a bit out of the loop but that is exciting news! Now fingers crossed for sand patch grade.

 

Basically, all Routes deserve an Upgrade. But if I have to choose 3, I'll take

- Main-Spessart Bahn
- Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr
- Tharandter Rampe Dresden-Chemnitz

 

I want to see Harlem Line get the ToD4 along with Sandpatch Grade

 

So many routes desperately need the lighting upgrade it's impossible to choose. There are a number of routes that are impossible or near- impossible to drive at night, Clinchfield, BCC, Glossop and Cathcart for example.

The sooner these routes get a lighting upgrade, the sooner I can start playing them again.

I have a feeling at some point, perhaps later this year or next year, most preserved TSW routes will get enhancements and ToD4 upgrades along with the creation or new routes

 

If East Coastway ever got upgraded, it needs the Electrostar model in the particular game to be upgraded to the same standards as the one feautured in BML, with better dot matrix destination board, better audio (AP level) etc... a pretty simple stuff.

 

I would like to see them all get it at some point.

My vote was for BML, ECW and NTP.

I realise it is a lot of work but when an upgrade comes like the Koln - Aachen timetable, it is a pity a lighting upgrade doesn't accompany it, that is probably asking too much though. I am glad they did it for Cathcart however.

I do find pre TSW3 routes really are too dark and aren't as enjoyable for me as the later routes. Unfortunately many of the most interesting routes are pre TSW3.

 

I voted GWE. Surely the 1st TSW route deserves remastering?

 

NYT and BPD both have TOD4 but my choice is for SFJ

 

All of them, obviously. But I voted for Ruhr-Sieg Nord, Tees Valley Line and Northern Trans-Pennine. Some of my favourites from the TSW 2020 and TSW 2 days.

 

I hope dtg are taking note of this

 

ECW and WCL are the top ones imo, for ECW obviously a scenery upgrade, BML 377 and maybe an extension to ore. WCL and the 150 both need a complete rebuild from the ground up, with maybe a Plymouth extension and a Valenta HST

 

RRO verdient TSW 4 Features und eine strecken Erweiterung bis nach Dortmund HBF.und was schön wäre wenn die Ennepetalbahn befahrbar ist

SKA might be a good option I would choose if I could only pick one of the list, might be nice for it considering it’s up for a timetable update, to be honest as long as it’s not implemented worse than whatever the current condition is, it’s good for any route.

 

What I consider more important than a TOD4 upgrade is fixing obvious track errors. Curves with no superelevation and some junctions that should be super elevated in the turn and aren't. It is very distracting to the experience.

 

Thanks but as good as that sounds, i'm on ps5 so don't have access to any mods

I'm perfectly happy on my ps5, and i certainly wouldn't want to purchase my entire dlc history again just for pc, so i do hope dtg could revisit routes like east coastway and update the timetable for us on console

 

all of them! If you release a game then all the addons but updated asap...

 

Updates don't happen overnight. There's a whole process and it's not a 5 minute job.

 

I hope we see something like the preservation crew again who updated to Pre-TSW2 routes. Would be good to get the complete collection to TOD4 standard one day.
