Yeah I missed a few because I used the website so I could be logged out and see the sale prices on addons I already own and I guess the website has a limit of how many DLC it can show. I added that one as well as the Norfolk Southern Heritage Livery Collection that I missed. Might be missing a few more that I already own, apologies.
I had a look to see if any of the recently released routes that are in the Steam sale were also in the PS sale and they are not. It’s a shame because I could have been buying three out of the four routes I don’t have yet but instead I’m buying nothing of note. The only things in the list I don’t have are… Norfolk Southern Heritage Livery Collection and Edinburgh - Glasgow: Engineering Express. I’m not particularly interested in either but I may add some colour to Horseshoe Curve with the livery pack.
I would like to buy Salzburg-Rosenheim and Bernina but I am held back by the poor technical support I believe these two routes have had since their launch. I saw many reports of bugs and errors and I don't know if they have been fixed. For example, does anyone know if the multiple services that can't be completed due to red lights on the two routes have been fixed? I think more than enough time has passed since the releases to fix it. I can live with other problems, but not being able to enjoy a part of the game I paid for because I can't finish it is a red flag I'm not willing to accept.
Can’t speak to Bernina, but Salzburg-Rosenheim works great. The only real problem is frame stuttering in the Austrian section.
As I’ve written in the current Steam sale thread already, it’s great to see a big PlayStation sale! Some DLCs that haven’t received discounts since mid-2023 are part of it, which is nice. I wish Salzburg-Rosenheim was a bit cheaper so I could justify getting it (haven’t seen any posts/videos that could justify paying nearly full price), but nonetheless I’ve got my sights set on a few other pieces of content like BRO and MML. Hopefully the Goblin line is part of the next sale - even a small discount would probably be enough for me to get it considering how good the reviews are (as well as its already lower-than-standard full price). Maintalbahn might also be a candidate for an upcoming steep discount (we’re talking 50%+) considering how little attention it is getting from the community… I can’t imagine sales numbers being that high. And you can clearly see that they factor the sales of individual routes into the discounts - after all, the fan-favorites Niddertalbahn and Blackpool Branches only get relatively light discounts occasionally. Completely different note, but it seems like they’ve permanently discounted some of the pre-TSW2 routes like MSB and TVL from 30€ to 25€? If so, that’s a nice move and something I’ve been encouraging for a while now. I don’t really play Rainbow Six Siege anymore, but I remember them having a system that reduced the prices of certain add-ons after certain amounts of time. I genuinely feel like the same should be true for TSW… reduce the price of older routes by 2-3€ each year - at least on consoles where crazy sales and bundles that throw tons of content at you for basically the price of a Cappuccino are non-existent.
The Days of Play are over, but I’ve just seen some new discounts on the EU PlayStation store. Fife Circle, London Overground and one of the Aggregates packs seem to be part of them, plus tons of other stuff. Not quite as much as the previous sale, but still some nice bargains!
As TimTri said above PlayStation has yet another good sale on and I will list everything that's discounted. -TSW 4 Standard Edition: 60% off Suffragette Line: 30% off Fife Circle Line: 30% off Cargo Line 2 Aggregates: 30% off Rhein Ruhr Osten: 80% off Clinchfield Railroad: 80% off Both versions of the Isle of Wight route are 60% off West Cornwall Local: 60% off West Cornwall Steam Railtour: 60% off RhB Anniversary Collection: 60% off DB BR 187: 50% off DB BR 363: 50% off Silver 1972 Stock: 50% off CSX SD40: 50% off S-bahn Koln BR 423: 50% off If you want my recommendations for this sale both CRR and RRO are a steal for £5 each and now is the best time to add those to your collection. London Overground is also a very nice route that I would recommend and I would also say the Modern version of the IOW route is good for that price.
It’s a shame that only vol 2 of the MML cargo packs is discounted. I was hoping to pick up both in a sale. Still undecided if I’ll get it or wait until both get a bigger discount. It would have also been nice if Maintalbahn had a decent discount given the imminent release of the 218, but that will have to wait, I guess. RRO and CRR are a steal at 80% off, of course. CRR is an excellent route even if some of its potential is unmet given the unresolved issues and the fact that it won’t get a loco DLC. RRO is dated by today’s standards but still is a nice route - even if just for the G8. Also, with the release of the Br 111, we finally have appropriate rolling stock on RRO as well.
I'm also quite surprised that Cargo Line Vol 1 isn't on sale, to my knowledge it has never been on sale. As for Clinchfield Matt is currently working on a sort of remaster for the route to add tod 4 and apply some fixes, it could be a while until it's ready tho.
It’s really unfortunate that the sale with Rosenheim-Salzburg ended last week On Tuesday we took the Südostbayernbahn DB BR 628 service from Mühldorf to Salzburg and back (these services are actually represented in-game and drivable between Salzburg and Freilassing!). Now I really want the route all of a sudden, it’s always different when you see things up close That being said, I’ll heavily consider the London Overground route for 20 bucks. I adore routes with great attention to detail. I think I’ll wait a bit with Fife Circle, will probably be getting it once the Leven branch is added (unless they somehow manage to completely mess it up) - but that’s a few months away, so it’ll probably be part of a few more sales until then. Maybe I’ll also finally get the 313… for that price (less than some of the scenarios/enhancement packs on offer) it sure does add some fresh variety to East Coastway and London Commuter.
I might be tempted to get Fife Circle in order to get extra layers for the Cathcart remaster, but I think the route is still in a poor state and Rivet don't seem to care. I think the last time I bought a Rivet Games product at full price was when IOW 22 came out, I'd just prefer they don't make anymore UK stuff if they keep butchering beloved routes
I am lost how will buying fire circle layer into the Cathcart circle. If you are thinking you require that because if the 158 you won’t. The 158 will be a stand alone DLC that will have layers onto GCC. cargo line volume 1 has been on sale in the past. Honestly. If you are waiting for a sale to save 2 or 3 pounds just bite the bullet and buy it they are great packs.
