Is there even a diesel filling station in Hamburg-Lübeck? I can't remember right now but somehow you have to fill up the 218.

    That's odd considering there's a FLIRT in Luzerne-Sursee.

Has anyone ever HAD to fill up a loco in TSW? For roleplaying yes, but given that no route is longer than about 90 minutes....
Maybe if you ran a whole day in timetable mode you could manage that.
I don't even know if fuel gauges work in the game. Honestly haven't noticed.

Maybe there are some scenarios where you are low on fuel or something?
That'd be kinda cool but haven't seen them yet.
Just the training scenarios which show you how to do it.

There’s a scenario on Maintalbahn where you have to get back to Aschaffenburg on limited fuel without running dry.

    "Coasting is a method ..."

Actually, no, the one at Hamburg Hbf is on the line to Harburg-Bremen/Hannover, so around here in game...

The one in Lübeck, [IMG] here, but actually, since 2010 the 218s on this line are maintained in Kiel.

Will be the bridge in Miltenberg adjusted? Because there is no way for Dostos to fit to this bridge.

You might do it with a Class 101 DMU as these only had a range of about 500 miles on a full tank.
The Class 47’s on NTP had a fuel range of 450 miles (the Class 45 had larger tanks and could do 600 miles) so working all day between Scarborough, York and Manchester/Liverpool they would have needed to visit a depot at some point to refuel. Of course this does not become a factor in TSW as all the loco hauled Trans Pennine services go off stage at Manchester or Leeds and despawn, with trains entering the simulation at a portal not reflecting fuel consumption at that point in its daily working (diagram).

Wonder what the fuel range of a 218 is, in real life?

If a Doppelstock don't fit, then a 218 won't either, as its exhausts are the same height as the Dosto roof.

It does not. There were screenshot from somebody who has tried Dostos and it was clipped to the bridge. There are real cabview videos on YT where you can see that this bridge is higher than ingame one.

Yes, Lucas said somewhere that this will be fixed with a patch ahead of the 218 release…

This is giving 204 vibes, with the bridges being too low when that came out....

The BR 218 can hold 3200 liters. If the locomotive is running alone, you can calculate 1 liter per 1 kilometer. If there are wagons behind it, it can quickly be 3.5 liters to 4 liters per 1 kilometer or more.

In my documents it says 3-4l per km, which is a theoretical value. Would be nice to have the fueling modeled.

Judging by the G6 and 612, i think you can probably take off the fuel cap and interact with it. But i doubt it very had that any of us drives this loco so long in one session, you'd need to refill it.

Yep that would be great, maybe small side quest to take care after duty, uncouple, bring it to the depo, refuel for next duty, park it and turn everything off. :)

Problem with refuelling is that most fuel stations on the available older routes are not working at all due to a wrong setup. Nothing i could change. The loco is setup so that refuelling works. And no, the gauges on the fuel tanks are not working.

Sounds like they didn’t have at least a major problem with it being in game, but changing it’s signature look was a no no.

So we had the June Roadmap and the BR 218 presentation livestream yesterday.

Unfortunately, in the June Roadmap a big part of the questions raised here, especially about the future of the BR 218 and diesel routes, remained unanswered.

I was hoping for that we maybe got some answers to that in yesterday's BR 218 presentation livestream, however I think DTG forgot to address any questions answered in its respective thread in the forum.

Is there any chance we can get an answer on some of those in any other way?
