It is a great pity there is no plan to include actual cities. I am an avid train enthusiast. What drives me to purchase is the ability to see and recognize actual locations. Being only a virtual sim for me is a huge negative

I don't disagree with your post at all.

The initial cityscape is okay, and for the most part of what I've seen so far, it's pristine in the 'clean' sense. I can, however, understand their decision to go with a mock city as it allowed them to control their track placement/curves etc., for the first offering of the game. It also allows them to avoid the usual complaints we see over in TSC/TSW regarding placement of landmarks, the trackage changes due to selected eras, the set of bushes that always seem to need moving six feet to the left...

Also, it's not just a tram driving game; there is a transport system management/building game embedded that you can progress through. Think 'Railroader' (the micro-management rail ops sim/game). I'm assuming (since I haven't got very far into this) that, unlike Railroader where you build up a rail freight and passenger line operation system, here you get to focus solely on passenger ops and can put things in place to make the tram system into a superior population mover and the envy of other cities. I'm honestly not sure how that would work if, say, you used the whole of Frankfurt, or Paris, or say, San Francisco. Cheers,

Hi Raz, I can't say since I haven't played either of the games you mention. I'm hoping to delve into the career mode feature over the next couple of days so I'll have a better idea as to what it entails. I will say that their fictional German city is quite nice to look at. Cheers

also Cities XL / Cities: Skylines 1 or 2... most of those are town/transport network management strategies... Transport Fever 2 has a pretty advanced stuff to make up your own network, you can even switch into 1st person to have a virtual ride, tho you cant control the locos and such :)

Would love to see this as a Tram version of TSC. Have workshop routes which can be uploaded and DLCs which use tram assets replicating well know cities. I have no real interest in building a tram empire. I would prefer to drive and learn real routes.
    Respectfully

I completely agree. I've just requested a refund as this is not what I expected. I do hope others enjoy it, but it's not for me. Cheers,
