Following the last roadmap stream, the next Roadmap should be released next week or the week after that. Just want to ask about your hopes and dreams for the July roadmap and what it could possible reveal etc. My opinion: I dont dont think it will be boring. Maybe a bit less new stuff, but maybe we get some reveales and stuff that moves to the 0-3 months section. I would also find something like a new rush hour like bundle with new routes etc. amazing, because it would bring new routes and rolling stock for the 3 main countrys. It would also lead to guarantee us there most likely wont be a tsw 5 this year. Anyways the Tsw 5 topic got discussed in other threads so please write your opinion about it in those! thanks! Still hoping the german route gets revealed and in my opinion it should be something big. (I think otherwise Dtg wouldnt develope a new loco for it) Also it should be, because the last german route released in, March i guess? very long time between if you ask me. Anyways it would be nice to see your opinions about that!
I suspect that it will be just as dull as the others this year, which haven't really shown large amounts of progress across the game. I know there are likely loads of things going on in DTG towers, but from the outside this isn't what it looks like. So my expectations are low, very low. I say this as someone who still thinks its coming home so can't be labelled as a pessimist by any stretch of the imagination!
I think we'll get more information on the next UK route, the UK team at DTG will have been working on a new route for nearly 6 months now so I'm expecting something a little more exciting than the other recent releases of ECML and GOBLIN (the latter being a work of art but not operationally very interesting), maybe even a teaser for the Just Trains route and one of the other items in the TBA column. Also, a release date for the 380/Cathcart upgrade.
Probably won’t be anything too major. Maybe some announcements from 3rd party developers and that’s about it. Maybe Matt will speak on his clinchfield remaster but I doubt it. There’s nothing really happening for U.S content right now except for High-Irons gameplay pack which I don’t seem exited for givin there track record, but I always try to have a positive outlook on stuff.. And is the San Bernardino line even still happening? Haven’t heard a single thing since they announced it.
Not expecting much, there usually isn't around this time of year anyway. Hopefully, a teaser for the next Just Trains route and an update on the Leven branch.
Doubt there will be much said about the Leven Branch its not even in the 3-6 months slot on the last road map sadly.
Would be nice to even see some WIP shots or something, give players something to talk about. Roadmaps been pretty boring as of late.
it would be IIRC in the last roadmap i may be wrong but matt did answer a question saying they had nothing really to show at present. Hopefully that changes in due course.
I think all their time is invested on Robolox TSW and Tram Sim right now. Apart from what’s already been revealed, I wouldn’t get too excited about any new announcements. Everything that’s on the roadmap most likely fits into DTG schedule, with other projects they’re working on.
As JD said they are not develloping Roblox TSW that is done from an outsider they are just assisting with them. Tram sim is also not a DTG product they are just the publisher it is made by another developer.
So people complain they don’t announce things then when they do people complain. Amazing it’s like people just want to moan
You must be new to the internet For the roadmap, I expect nothing. Maybe an announcement of the date for the TSW5 announcement stream.
Probably been using the internet longer than you have been on this planet lol. News to me where have DTG hinted or confirmed TSW 5 is even a thing do you have a source or is this just pure speculation.?
Would love to hear anything about the Alan Thompson route. I expect they are taking their time and hopefully will create a fantastic route.
We can expect some details about US core update, Class 380 & Cathcart remaster since they may release at July, or DTG will announce that August routemap would be replaced by a live event, and on that event they may announce some big, maybe TSW5.
About the only thing I expect we might see, is a release date for the 380 and the Cathcart facelift. But regardless of whether it’s TSW5 or a late summer bundle I doubt anything will be declared in July. We know the 104 is still mired in development and unlikely to be any status change with Union Workshop or Just Trains. I get the distinct impression TSW so far as DTG are concerned almost seems to be run on a part time basis now.
Wasn't there like a lot still to be released before the Dovetail Direct? Carhart Circle, Expert 101? Enough to keep us busy until the silly season of speculations goes in effect
I’m not expecting anything new tbh. No news on San Bernardino or the Uk & German route. Info on the content in the 3 month section all we’re gonna get; I actually feel like the expert 101 might be the last dlc before the summer release.
TSW5 l hope not. TSW4 is ok for me and l won’t be buying a version 5. As Skyhook have released a few pictures of the 380, l think the release is imminent and a date will be revealed on the roadmap. Hopefully some leaks on what is coming within the next three months too would be good.
I assume, release date for the 380+GCC update and, maybe, 158 will be announced? I fear that the expert package 101 will be released in early August, while 380 and 158 will be released in July. Plus all the US upates. We would see everything else in September/October, inside the new game or expansion. Pay attention to it: British, US and German routes in 4-6 months section... Does it mean anything to you?
I can probably guarantee one thing - I'll ask for the option to turn off incidental music in scenarios, and I'll get no acknowledgement or response at all
It's music which suddenly starts playing when you're in the middle of a scenario (like the ECML scenario "Testing the Limits")
I was as well but there is an excellent tutorial on YouTube showing how it works in sim I watched that and can drive the German routes perfectly now with full systems turned on.
It’s quite insidious and distracting. Bear in mind too that playing any sort of music in a real UK train cab, well getting caught (!) would be a disciplinary offence for the driver.
Hard to believe I actually looked forward to the Roadmap at one time. When did Sam leave? Well it's been awhile. Nowadays I just skim the replay. Not expecting any important news for this one. No interesting US dlc on the horizon so..... Actually, as I said last month, I think they should ditch the roadmap and just have release announcements and preview articles We'd still have the " happy talk " and the PR but it wouldn't be so much in your face. Besides, as Vern said, the main focus is shifting away from TSW as is mine quite frankly. At least until something comes along to spark my attention.
If they ever extend the ECML to York, perhaps we could have a tea, no biscuits, scenario in the York ROC with management
I'm unsure as to whether it's the one scenario or all of them as 'Testing the Limits' was enough for me!! By all means have it play during the route intro 'scenario' where it would be more suitable but during an actual scenario is just a joke! I actually paused it thinking my Hi-Fi had cross fed into it but quickly realised it was in-game!! Cue me scrolling with every growing frustration through the options to find the music off option. I'd have had a disciplinary for my F'ing and blinding. Quit when I found there wasn't one and haven't returned since to scenarios since! Perhaps, and note these are my own musings, it's to possibly offset the lack of noise! I know you OldVern have a 'unique' work around for that which I use in timetable, but even that's limited. You wouldn't have that with 36 cylinders of Napiers finest or a screaming Valenta (at a push obviously )! You could play all the musac you want then, I couldn't care less as I'll just open her up to 11!! (Note to Youngsters- Go watch 'Spinal Tap' you'll then understand that reference, plus you'll piss yourself laughing, that bloke out of the Simpsons is in it who voices Skinner!)
With the 158 layering into the new Cathcart update, I’d assume we’ll see a release date confirmed for this.
Now it looks like the 380 is coming out in the next fortnight, one less item for the Roadmap as it’s done!
Is this just a guess or is there any evidence as to this claim? Just curious. Very exciting times ahead.
I really like the scenario music. It sounds nice, and adds another level of epicness to the moment it is applied to. I probably will never understand people's hatred towards it, but that's my problem. For those that want to know, there are four scenarios with music in them: Testing the Limits (East Coast Mainline) Re-Record (Flying Scotsman) Just like the Movies (Vorarlberg) Blockbuster (Antelope Valley Line) The rest of the scenarios have no music There is also music in the introductions to the core TSW4 routes.
Thank you - I've been trying to get a list of scenarios that have music in them so I can avoid them! For the record, I don't hate it but I do find it very distracting: for me, it breaks the immersion (and my concentration) and I can't hear important things like alarms over it. Nor do I judge anyone for liking it - that's why I've been asking for the option to turn it off rather than remove it. Interestingly, studies have found that about half the population like music while they're working and half don't - I just happen to be in the latter camp
My own personal opinion, I think it'll be delayed a week or so because there'll be announcement about TSW5 or another Rush hour etc etc type release with it the roadmap being used to mostly promote it. I'm probably totally wrong though.
Skyhook released some screenshots of the 158 yesterday so there may be something about that in it (But yeah I agree about no mention of Leven aside from that it's being worked on)
