For the new Cathcart Circle, one thing that would be interesting would be is there space for Avanti Pendolinos in the future on the route. You can probably all agree that BCC has a lot of space for the avanti, LNWR's etc. I do hope their is space as Avanti is a fairly popular customer to Glasgow Central and it create an even bigger atmosphere with both LNER and Avanti coming into Central.
You must've not seen the development screenshots which still had the Avanti Placeholder services on the PIS boards. Yes, there's room for them.
Wouldn't be the first time, remember when the 700 was first "leaked" when a Thameslink service was spotted on a PIS board on a SEHS screenshot?
Even if they did do WCML, I'd much prefer them make Shap in the 80's with a Class 86 or 87 as the new stock. More interesting to drive than the blander Pendolinos, plus it creates an opportunity to have a more interesting tilting train in the game...
I remain hopeful, DTG did make the one in TS Classic which would suggest they have all the research materials in their archives somewhere!
DTG did not make the one in TCS that was made by keith ross the same person who made WCML north. Agree though would love to see it in TSW 4 and the 86/87
It's not, they already confirmed it was left there to accommodate avanti if and when they get added The same as Hull Trains and Lumo services in ECML Info boards
For Christ Sake, lets just appreciate the release of the Cathcart remaster and the Class 380 first, and let that sink in, before we get ahead of ourselves and come up with all these theories!
I couldn’t believe someone was making such a fuss that Avanti was not in the route in chat last night giving you would see it once an hour and only basically travelling for at the very most 5 minutes on the lines out of Glasgow and disappear just before you turn right for pollockshields lol
To be honest I think Avanti are long overdue for an appearance in TSW. Personally I would ❤️ to see the Pendo's in TSW but I think it needs to be on the right section of WCML. I would love to see the APT, 86, 87 and a few other of the class 8x make an appearance. But I think that won't happen. Although I have to say much like if you have the ECML in TSW you have to have a deltic as well. Hentis
agreed, you would assume a portion of WCML + Avanit is the sort of scope they do in the summer update, given the scale and wide appeal it would have... fingers crossed a section of it makes it as the new UK route and we get some additional traffic for BHM and MAN
A UK route that comes as part of a bundle is usually more high profile than standalone DLC offerings like Suffragette, BCC etc. Either they're world famous (in the rail world, at least) or have high speed sections, and are modern day for mass appeal (like it or loath it): TSW - Great Western Express TSW2 - Bakerloo (No indication that LU will be done again) Rush Hour - BML TSW3 - SEHS TSW4 - ECML Based on that criteria, whatever comes this summer, be it TSW5 or a TSW4 bundle, I'd say Avanti is in with a good chance of appearing.
What I find interesting is that the PIS boards say that the Avanti service is formed of 7-coaches. Pendolinos are at least 9 coaches long, and the Everos don't go to Glasgow, so I am left wondering what the rolling stock could be...
it was all placeholder stock with the AWC as operator to make it easier to build the timetable and allocate platforms... but the back end work is clearly there to accomodate it in the timetable, so we can dream that at some point hopefully they can slot in some pendolinos
That was just AI that won't appear in the timetable unless activated (I.E if a pendolino or voyager was added)
I was under the impression that any service shown on the PIS screen has to be represented by a train (AI or not). Otherwise, scenarios wouldn't have empty PIS displays. There must be something representing that service. A 3+4-car class 380 perhaps? If there really is no train, then why would they choose 7 cars?
It'll probably be a placeholder train, a 380 3 and 4 car set, and then in the future if Avanti is added to TSW they can put the stock in place.
