    Prime example, yours truly.

I bought the new TSW DB 218 from TSG and was thoroughly enjoying it.

On a whim in the sale I bought Ringbahn for TSC and since added Kempten to Lindau. I also just rebought Pegnitz and the Vr 218 which I had refunded.

Not been back on TSW since for three days and counting…

The only new thing on the horizon for TSW is the Class 380, another one handled letterbox EMU on the stop start bus service of Cathcart. The route has been remastered but night time still looks black as pitch with no evidence of ambient city lighting. Also looks like DTG are forging ahead with plans for a paywall TSW5 update come September.

I believe it was a Preston diver and train manager - the only depot that signs the whole route.

No idea dont know the driver personally. I was just commenting in reply to your comment saying no driver in real life signs the whole line when they do :)

I hope that drivers seat is comfortable lol

I should have said in normal circumstances no driver would drive London to Glasgow in one shift as it would go beyond their driving hours in relation to having a break.
We can stop the game if we need to have food or use the toilets. A real driver cannot.

Hence why drivers have locations they can use facilities if needs be. I know the locations on routes I drive on were they are :)

Speaking from someone who has had a subscription in the past it most definitely is if you then buy the payware at a later date from ats the money you save covers the subscription. I never renewed mine as I am playing more of TSW just now however if I wa still heavy into TSC it would be renewed.

So ATS if you have an active sub the store sells payware such as class 185 dmu as well as 745 flirt. And some payware routes as well. You get a very nice discount in the payware if you choose to buy it whilst your subscription is active. So the money you save by buying the payware is great than the cost of the subscription itself.

The people giving reviews who complain more than likely don’t have it. There is a small few on here who will complain about anything ATS will do because they have a personal dislike for the person who runs it. I won’t go Into details as to why but do not take there reviews on here as fact if they don’t own a product then really there review is worthless. You will soon work out who these people are.
There are lots of reviews on YouTube for the 745 so if that is something you ar interested in watch those reviews and form your own opinion.

Most YouTube videos don't give a glowing review of the 745.

That’s because of the price of it and granted I can understand that but as you know on here a small few will just speak bad of anything ats so because he don’t sell on steam same as AP

No, it's because of how he treats people...from the outset he's walked all over developers wishes/rights

That's immaterial...I was responding to your claim that he's disliked because he doesn't sell through Steam.

Gary why must you be so negative? I have seen some of your posts and they show some technical brilliance. When it comes to others feelings and opinions you however come across as always wanting to put people down.

Asking for clarification is being negative? I've had many an e-mail *conversation* so I was asking if that's what he meant.

Moving forward, I find myself getting more and more invested in TSC. Bought several items in the sale and currently mulling over whether to add the Hanover Sub (see separate post). Moved from Germany to the USA last night to run a superb switching scenario on the B&O with the H9 steamer. Not going to find that in TSW any time soon, or ever.

There are a lot of good US DLC. The style of operation is different. Well worth getting in to running the 100+ car scenarios. I love both the US and UK DLCs just can’t get into the German stuff. I have tried.

Well of course the big cheese of US operations remains Run 8, but TSC has come a long way since the early days of 100 car loaded trains running uphill in Notch 2. I have a fair few US routes in my collection and probably divide my time equally between all the countries. I just got a thumbs up in my other thread re Hanover and the Schaunz reviews look good too, so a good chance I will drop this in my collection later. With all the industry spurs you could almost imagine it being in Run 8.

Put it this way, £12.49 for the Hanover Sub in TSC or £12.99 for the new one handle narrow slit view Class 380 EMU in TSW - not really much contest!

No 100 car freights but it has a bit of charm

And heck. Thankfully if I buy stuff on steam, the prices are converted into my country's currency and i can buy stuff cheap on steam. So suppose make TSC and TSW stuff more affordable. 3rd Parties as i mentioned before in a page. is overpriced.

I've just started getting into TSC myself. First thing I did was purchase the Great British Railway Journeys & TS DLC bundle for £4.99. This gives you five routes to get started with.

Also, over the weekend, I picked up Steam keys for 3 older versions of TSC from ebay:

    Train Simulator (2021) £3.59
    Train Simulator Classic (2022) £4.49
    Train Simulator Classic (2023) £6.99

This will give you a whole bunch of routes, and a good base to start from.

Welcome to TS. I'm sure you're already aware, but I wanted to say that the summer sale is on now and has a load of good discounts for things you may want to get.

Thanks. I've already picked up a few things in the sale:

GWR, LMS and SR Centenary Bundles
    WCML Over Shap
    Weardale and Teesdale
    Battle for Sherman Hill Collection

Probably bought more than I should but some of the prices are really tempting, especially with the Centenary Bundles. These have at least 50% off individual items plus an additional 25% off the bundle price. No brainer really.

Just a point I need to make you aware of. The 801 does NOT bundle properly with the ECML in that bundle. It DOES come in the GBRJ bit, but not the TSC bit. The standalone route is correctly set up. The one in GBRJ is not. I have pointed this out but this seems to not have been fixed.

To solve this problem, see here for a list of other options, which I will summarize.
    • NEC: New York-New Haven
    • Pacific Surfliner: LA - San Diego
    • West Somerset Railway
    • Epic Journeys
Epic Journeys is another bundle, currently 50% off, and includes Soldier Summit, Rhine Railway, and London-Faversham. That's three routes for cheap. Each is, I believe, in value about half the current sale prices if picked up in that bundle. It also fixes your 801 problem without having to transplant files.

Since the ECML came with the early 2023 deluxe bundle, the 801 did come with that year's Deluxe Edition. It does not come with the current one.

If you really don't want any of these, I suggest contacting Support to see if they can give you the 801 properly without extra cost. However, Surfliner is not a bad route, and lengthy with various scenario options, and Epic Journeys is just a good bundle (though Soldier Summit does not include Salt Lake City's extension). West Somerset is good if you plan to pick up steamers to run on it.

TSC has plenty of modding potential and an abundance of freeware content - most of which require payware to operate - but some stock on sites like https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/ offer content that is stand alone.

I use Reshade with my game to make it look more realistic and the shader options are countless - and all for free!

There is also Golden Age of Railroading, which also offers some standalone - though dated - items. No guarantees on whether they still work today. At the least, they might require the US Loco Pack.
