    Moin,

Scotland would be a nice place for TSW to exand to. Why? Because Scotland. And this particular piece of its rail network would certainly offer plenty of things to do for us armchair railwaymen.

    General
    Location: Scotland
    Era: Modern-ish
Length end to end: 60 mi/96 km
    Max speed: 85 mph (?)
    # of passenger stations: 18
Service types: Local, Regional, InterCity, Cargo
    # of tracks: 2
    Electrified: No

    Suitable vehicles (among others):
    Class 66
    Class 68
    Class 156
    Class 158
    Class 170
    Class 220
    HST

This would certainly be a very good first Scottish route for Train Sim World. The Class 66 could be re-used from Great Western Express and I think only the livery would need changing for a HST since the Abellio ScotRail HSTs were recently moved from Great Western Railway. For the local services, a Class 170 would be best in my opinion. I think that Dovetail Games does have a license with Abellio ScotRail, though this may have changed since 2016 when the Class 68 add-on for TS1 was released, so this could be possible.

I'm not even sure how much a license covering TS20xx is worth for TSW. In case of doubt it probably depends on the individual contract made with one particular company. What I'm even curious about is, how much these TOCs actually charge for such a license, roughly. Shouldn't they be happy for free advertisement, and charge only for efforts. Chartering a train plus driver/staff for recordings, shooting photos and such.

    Money ruins everything, jeez...

Perfect idea for the first Scottish route, iconic forth rail bridge superstructure, plenty of additional locomotive and trainset options in the class 170 ‘Turbostar’ , LNER Hitachi Class 800 ‘Azuma’ and the commuting class 68. As well as the fact that this route can operate both express and commuter based services!

Completely agree, I’m just over the bridge in Fife so it would be a great to see a TSW recreation especially given the recent realise on TS20xx
