I was playing one route today and as I finished the last scenario for it, I was looking at it, I was thinking (as the chaps on the stream are talking about it) that this could be a potential route for a remaster because when it was released, I think we all agreed that it was an awful route in terms of lighting and in terms AI traffic as well

The route in question is the S-Bahn Zentralschweiz because we have seen what Dovetail can do when they take something Rivet have done and made it significantly better, I believe that if they put the Zentralschweiz through the new engine and through some major lighting changes, along with some changes to the AI frequency, it might improve it somewhat

    Thoughts?

Not worth doing at this point is my view, need more Swiss content first for layers

it’s also a rivet route and needs either them to remaster it or some kind of arrangement (probably dosh) for another like DTG to do it.

I’d love to see TVL remastered! It’s good route and has an absolutely great timetable as it is. Would be nice to see it updated and maybe include some intercity traffic at Darlington.

Class 142 layers would be the golden feature with that kinda update :)

Tvl would need a lot I think as the yards are empty and the freight moves to Darlington currently quite samey

That said with that or trans pennine in tod4 it could be interesting visually

Tees yard has a fair amount of stock to it as it is, I often notice, especially considering its memory limits were Xbox one TSW 1 equivalent.

Though wouldn’t hurt to spruce it up where appropriate :) I think theirs a few scenery areas what could do with some sprucing as well, as much as I’ve found some very good similarity details to the real world counterpart, I still think NTP got the better scenery.

I think Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr is perfect for a remaster:
    • new timetable would benefit from these "new" trains that haven't been there when HRR released: BR 403 / 406, BR 401, IC cab car and expert 101, SRM/DRA Dostos with BR 146, n-Wagen, BR 103/110/218 as railtour, G6 as shunter on the yard around Mülheim
    • It's not a lengthy route, so I believe a TOD4 upgrade doesn't take a lot of time
    • Give Essen and Bochum a scenery update. Especially Essens skyline is missing.
Boom, what a great route it will be! The timetable could be extremly dense as it is in reality.
The only things missing are the Desiro HC (so instead Dostos and BR 146) and the FLIRT 3XL (so BR 422 and 425 will be used)

I think one rule should be that if you release new DLC, the home route should be remastered or at least be brought up to spec with the current version of the game. Next time a dlc is planned like the 218 delay the release until the home route is up to spec.

Then the 218 would never be released. Or maybe in 4 years. Don't know if i want that.

DTG have never remastered a Rivet route. Cathcart Circle is a DTG route if that’s the one you were thinking of. I can’t see Rivet revisiting this one either as they haven’t remastered any of their old routes apart from revamping Isle of Wight when they released the new train for it and made it a separate route due to the new track layout etc that it required.

West Cornwall Local could certainly do with a remaster

My top 3 remaster wish list would be:
    1. BML
    2. TVL
    3. ECW

North Transpennine would be great for a remaster, could have 31s and 20s layered into it.

Length isn't related to tod4. It's the amount of individual light sources, tunnels, updating textures to support the new lighting, etc. If there's a lot of them, it takes much longer. A route can be short and have a lot of light sources and assets which makes it take much longer than the same route with no light sources

The only two candidates for a remaster for me are:

Brighton Mainline... The route is fantastic and has a decently padded timetable as it is, but the route is now starting to show it's age in terms of scenery and lighting system. An upgrade to that route would be nothing short of amazing. Updated scenery for the entire route, TOD4 specs, updated 377s with the possibility of adding the refurbishments/overhaul the fleet have recently been through, and possibly (as a minor detail) adding the older variation of headlight cluster for some of the 377/1 units to add a bit of variation. Also removing the unnecessary 375 diversions through East Croydon (they only operate during engineering works in real life, not every weekday) and replacing those paths with the 700 Thameslink services to add that extra realism. The route holds well now, but it is nowhere near the standards of recent TSW routes. How much potential would an upgrade have? Plenty!

Northern Transpennine... The route was really good when released, but it really is starting to show it's age and look out of place. The whole route really needs an overhaul in terms of scenery and TOD4 specs. The locomotives such as the 45 could do with some visual improvements along with a slightly better sound mix. The 47 included in Blackpool Branches is already used as a substitute if you need. NTP was always a really good and underrated route, with the potential for a diversity of locos, units, and services. To also have the scenery brought upto modern standards would be magic... I'd put a bet at Paddy Power, it would be positively received and even bring new players to the route that had previously overlooked it.
