Whatever its a paid upgrade of some sort just like every year except the one year. 4 out of 5 years now. Just like my EA's, 2K's, and MLB the show I'm used to it. The Enough is Enough thread is at over 100 pages, many with people complaining about having to buy a new iteration every year. Well that got some results didn't it. We still have to pay.
Just no, with a short look, how many routes have the TOD4 upgrade...well, another new and shiny 'improvement' that only the base routes of the release and their following will get/while almost all other TSW 1-4 routes wouldn't be benefitted by it, why? So,before not all TSW1/2 routes got the ToD 4 upgrade, no new TSW is needed.
Yay for me so I can know what improvements are coming this time. Tsw is the only train sim i play because it's great for casual players so I'll get it regardless
Yes for me, I am enjoying TSW4 and have no regrets, although the announcements regarding the cessation of steam development soured things a little. Whilst I am getting enjoyment out of the sim then it is worth me investing it it, so assuming one or more the new routes are of interest, and I can't imagine at least one won't be, then yes I will get it, this is assuming it is TSW5. This is my main at home hobby therefore I am happy to invest in it. For some of course it might not be worth it. I just hope we won't get the unpleasantness of last year where some seem to think you have no right to spend your own money or think they can insult you for doing so!
new content is a go for me. If its a new upgrade bundle, i will buy it. If its Tsw5, i will buy it. Except for some old Tsw 2 and before routes like HBL, DRA and HRR, none of the other ones are routes i play much, i still enjoy them dont get me wrong here. I would buy a new Tsw or bundle because im a big fan of the new stuff. If Tsw 5 comes then i hope it contains a german route this time. Vorarlberg is a good route but nothing for germany(Lindau is nice and all but its like 2km so i dont count it in). Im more a fan of the northern part of germany and Tsw still doesnt represent this one much, so i hope for a new route in this area. Hyped for the Direct tho.
I like the Dovetail Directs. Regardless of it being a new installment or not it still gives you an insight into what's on the horizon. The ones in march have always been fairly good for that. I can't really react to it, though, until I know what it will entail.
I do hope its going to be an upgrade akin to the one from TSW1 to TSW2020, with the new DLC teasers being akin to the Rush Hour series rather than a new game which would be seriously disappointing considering that the suspension upgrades, that were advertised as a core feature of TSW4, have made it on to a grand total of one train. As well as the TOD4 upgrades that have not been seen on a backlog of routes, which is understandable. As for Dovetail Directs themselves I do like the concept of being given a window of the development of the DTG catalogue, but it seems as though it will just turn into "Here's our way of announcing the next TSW game", if the first is anything to go by.
