    Howdy people.

Quick question, how do I add the AP weather to Feather River Canyon Enhanced? I know adding AP weather is usually easy as you just copy paste the 4 .bin files form the AP TOD folder to the corresponding route TOD folder. HOWEVER, it seems in the feather river enhanced folder, the only bin file in it is called "Default" instead of the usual 4 seasonal .bin files.

What do I need to do?

So what is in the bin file when you extract it with Serz?

You should be able to edit the routeproperties.xml to make the route work with AP Weather

Unless this route is different to a lot of others the weather should not be in the routeproperties.xml

Possibly because it was built with only the single season file?
As Peter has already suggested, open it and see what it calls for.

The routeproperties.xml directs the route to the time of day files, so editing it should let you change which weather is referenced

I’m guessing that’s what it could be. Could I just copy one of the AP Time of day Season files and Rename it to default?

NO!!!!...First thing to do is find out just what that Default.bin is calling for....open it with RW Tools or use Serz.exe to convert to .xml and use an xml editor to see just what's what.

Ok, so I have Default.bin open in TS-tools. It seems to be calling for what is in the environment folder (I think) I'm not experienced with editing TOD bin files.

    Forget what was said above.

The season defs are loaded from the route's template, not RouteProperties.xml (which is a fallback only in case the template is missing.)

Extract TemplateRoutes\FeatherRiverExtensionTemplate.bin from the .ap and put it next to it. Edit it (either use Serz.exe to convert, or by using TSTools) accordingly.

Place the AP TimeOfDay folder in the HIS\FeatherRiverExt folder (if you wish, modify its values to be matching US daylight times according to my guide).

    That's all.

So could these steps above be technically done for say Cajon pass etc?

For any route that doesn't refer to its own TimeOfDay files, or uses a single season the whole year (default.bin).
