Until DTG make a proper statement and apologise for all the bugs that still exist in TSW1 and beyond.
Tbh apologises from a company are like apologies from politicians, no value not worth the time it takes to here them.
I feel so sorry for DTG with all these TSW5 threads I actually finally bought Rapid Transit today! Well to fair, 1. I had Steam Wallet Gift card (2 actually) from my missus for my birthday and, 2. It's in a completion bundle for £5.99, about what it's worth.
Totally with you. DTG read the forums and where normally you get nice discussion about features, recent releases, bugs to report or praise to give, right now it's all just TSW5. Still though, the community clowning on them is a bit of entertainment.
I give it until Christmas before TSW6 threads start popping up here and there, becoming more intense towards the summer.
Well known I can be very critical of DTG and their approach to some aspects of TSW, but the constant TSW5 noise is starting to wear thin even to me. I just broke off from TSC to finish a run with the 218 on Hamburg to Lubeck and thorughly enjoyed it. When TSW is doing things well, it can be very good.
Don't be silly. DTG apologizing would be taking responsibility, and everybody knows that the modding community ALWAYS takes responsibility for fixing DTG's messes. [Removed - DTG Alex: Highly Inappropriate]
The answe is a simple no. History tells us this and if you think otherwise your dreaming. But for as long as bèen playing they never 100% fix everthing before they drop support. TSW 2020 = No TSW 2 = No TSW 3 = No So looks like it will be a no. And what has griping on the forums got us When Sam was with the company. TSW 2020 routes moves over to TSW 2. The Meissen branch on DRA. Since Sam has left... No more Steam because they can't do it to our satisfaction. No more frieght for the same reason as Steam. So it seems griping on the forums will get us nothing except a handful of bugs fixed. What is the point anymore. Face it TSW has just become a console game on PC just like all the sports games.
Realistic answer? A good deal of routes would get ported without full rework and would end up introducing new bugs while exacerbating the existing. The focus will be on fixing the bugs that make the route unusable, and even then, say, the Boston Commuter CTC-3 cab car ADU freeze bug is still alive and kicking, despite making it very annoying to use.
Exactly, who needs TSW5 if lots of unresolved bugs get carried over from 2, 3 and 4. The usual excuses for popping trees, poor rendering distance, shadow effects and weather, audio occlusion, floating cars, bobbing pantographs, toy train physics will get repeated. Also, I don't expect a notable increase in quality, it will be 'more of the same', i.e. console oriented short stop-and-go commuter routes with one-handle trains, best suited for thumbstick players. Perhaps a more ambitious 3rd party like JT, TSG will try to raise the bar somewhat. Complicated steam locomotives? Given the difficulties in acquisition of licenses, drawings, track plans and signaling schemes, I also do not expect DTG to break away from the already represented territories and carriers. So I'll patiently wait for the big reveal and leave a day one purchase to others.
Yes thank goodness for JT, I have high hopes for Thompson too. Something needs to change or this game is going to be called EMU World. I’m sure Rod Hull would have liked that!
