Class 66 (1 would likely be included), RHTT & Engineering Express packs, so 2 packs there. 710 (1 DLC), Bakerloo stock (1 DLC), 377 (incorrect subclass in game, so would depend on what DTG does there). ROG 37, to drag the evermore breaking down 350’s. Class 08 for some shunting. After that, since DLC’s only come with one new train, I’d say a potential mainline route with an IC train & a commuter train would include one of these as a separate DLC. All hypothetical of course.
Need to start saving. At least £30 for bakerloo and 710. Sad thing is that I have bakerloo on EGS and all my other dlcs up to TSW4 are on Steam. My perfectionism forces me to buy bakerloo for the second time
I’d certainly wait until any layer confirmation, and even then Bakerloo would be dirt cheap in a sale so hold out.
Can I just say for the Devs that this thread was started last year and is not related to previous threads that have been taken down.
Man I’ve spent a lot of time on this route filming trains, I love it. Watford Jct. is great station for filming trains at speed, not only the Pendo’s but the 66’s pelting through at high speed too making a heck of a din. I’ve also seen plenty of railtours too. This was probably the one route that would make me buy TSW5 (ahem if there is one) on day 1 after vowing not to do it again but wait for a sale. Also at last the 710 will get a proper run and there are a lot of stops. By the way Southern 377’s also run to Watford Jct. from Clapham Jct. in a once hourly service.
Agree. Nothing that directly relates to the leak or the images should be taken down. DTG need to be man enough to accept the route if not the precise details are out there and that it will inevitably be discussed.
If the west coast mainline was (hypothetically) added at some point, I hope it would include rugby, seeing the iconic curve in game with the tilting of the 390s would be absolutely amazing! (Not my photo)
For those of you that don't get why a hypothetical Pendolino would be so popular, a Virgin Trains 390 leaning into a curve likely was, for people of broadly my generation, the introduction to the concept of being passionate about trains. Combined Power Brake Controller or not.
Yeah the 390 kickstarted my love for trains tbh, remember seeing them as a young lad when they first came into service
I always remember seeing them whenever I got the train to Glasgow in the early-mid 2010s, never managed to get on one till last year, but they are definitely one of the most comfortable modern british trains imo, and the tilting is such a unique feeling
The Class 390 and Class 350 are already known to be coming. If it's true that they will take down discussions, I don't see the point of taking down discussion of them down to be honest. The photos are already out there anyways. It's like what happened when GTA 6 was leaked. Once it's out there, many will know and there isn't much that can be done. There were also the leaks of TSW 4 which I assume had many discussions. I have no sympathy for Dovetail anyways. I don't get the point of waiting another month to do the Dovetail direct stream when it is already done nor do I get listing several unannounced routes on the last roadmap. They should've either announced what those routes were or waited until August to list the routes and announced them because that was going to cause some to try to figure out what routes and trains were coming.
I haven't been on the forums much over the last few days and have clearly missed the furore. This is one of those routes which could be epic or a disappointment depending where it finishes. I hope it will not be like the ECML route in that respect. I do find it baffling how some people clearly don't have the patience to wait for an announcement and have to know now, is everyone so bored that they can't wait? The unannounced routes were clearly to peak peoples interest, it is called marketing, it is what many companies do and what DTG have always done. Why should we expect DTG to announce things when it suits us? It might be that they aren't ready to announce the exact details as maybe there are still details to be finalised. Part of the fun of the forums is, or was trying to work out what new content might be. There is a world of difference from the forums trying to work out what new content might be (and possibly getting it right) and someone leaking the information when they shouldn't! I have much sympathy with DTG on this, and it is the actions by one or two selfish people who spoil things for others.
Not months but possibly years. In comparison the simrail route took a really long time and that's 500km
Then a solution could be to announce a product when it is ready to be announced which is what many video game companies already do with their products or put the unannounced routes 1 to 2 weeks prior to a full reveal which would've gotten players hyped anyways. Considering that this company has a reputation of getting it's products leaked, it doesn't suprise me that their content got leaked
But fact is, the leak shouldn't have happened. Period. Especially when it was bound by a legal agreement.
Lets be honest it was probably JD and its probably in their contract the be head of the leak department
If they tease the fact that new content is coming then it gets people talking, which garners interest and maybe excitement. It's called marketing, they aren't the first and won't be the last company to do this. There have been many times when these forums have been full of complaints that DTG have been quiet, which then fuels rumours. It's not DTG's fault that some person let their ego get in the way and couldn't keep quiet.
What I also said is called marketing and would've also gotten players talking without the need to wait a whole month which in turn probably wouldn't have led to the train being leaked anyways
I think they’ve should’ve just dropped some teasers. Like they did with TSW 3 and 2. But who knows maybe they were going to and this leak ruined it?
4 weeks to wait. Personally, I’ll just chill out and enjoy the summer (especially as I am old enough to have just got my bus pass!) and find out all the details on 20th August.
Could this actually be a hint at a class 807 unit for Avanti? They will be 7 cars and be used on Glasgow services.
Another four years for mine, thanks to the inequality between England and the rest of the UK plus the rise in state pension age in the meantime. But yes, the time will go quickly between now and late August, while we wait for the British (non) summer to kickstart itself.
I think it's just a 7 car 380 placeholder. I'd cry if we got an Evero instead of a pendolino and or voayger
I’m very lucky living in London, being an old fart I get a free OysterCard for travel in trains (national rail and TfL), buses and tube. You can guess where I spend most of my time!
From the US, but watch the Camden Junction cam a lot and this is going to be a very busy route. I see Arriva rail London operated London Overground, WM trains and Avanti passing almost constantly. There is also freight action on the tracks that pass behind the tracks to Euston. Would think this is a through route that bypasses Euston. Avanti operates several types of train sets.
If class 390 was ever added in the game, how would the tilting system work? I don't know how it works irl, is it automatic or is it somehow controlled by driver? I personally see three variants of DTG implementing this feature: 1. No implementation at all: dtg sometimes make illogical moves, this can be a case 2. The system is triggered at certain points and is not controlled by player at all. 3. The system is controlled by player. Again, I do not know how it works irl, so points either 2 or 3 might be non realistic
Good question! While I can’t speak for the real thing, I can only assume it will be an automated process for the game. Imagine approaching a curve at 125mph EPS and expecting to know when, where and how much tilt to ‘do’. Then imagine doing that on a double yellow aspect, approaching a tunnel and with no EPS allowed. It would be a handful to say the least! I’m going to go and read up on it now
I don't know how Class 390s work, but certainly in 221s there was an option to 'deactivate tilt' on the cab desk... Well before XC permanently deactivated the tilting system.
It will most likely work the same as the BR 612 we already have in the game. That tilts around corners aswell
Yeah tilting wouldn't be new to the game. The 612 has it as mentioned as does the Acela (in that case its even more unique since from my understanding the coaches tilt but not the locomotive).
