( obviously the online mode to be more relaxing and non-toxic should always have all the safety systems active and not deactivable) Hi While I was playing I thought of this ide An online version of Train Sim World 4 could offer several advanced features to improve the gaming experience and the player community. Here are some of the possible additi 1. **Cooperative and Competitive Multiplayer**: Players could join together in online gaming sessions to collaborate in managing train operations or compete to complete specific scenarios. Cooperation could include roles such as train driver, station controller and rail maintainer, creating a more dynamic and engaging gaming experie 2. **In-Game Communication**: Communication tools such as voice and text chat would allow players to better coordinate during gaming sessions. This would be essential for complex operations and to improve cooperation during scenar 3. **Global Leaderboards and Progress**: Global leaderboards could add a competitive dimension, allowing players to compare their progress and achievements with those of other players around the world. Progress could be shared and tracked, incentivizing players to improve their ski 4. **Community Events and Challenges**: Dovetail Games may organize special events and periodic challenges, where players can participate to win prizes and recognition. These events might include specific missions, speed races, and skill te 5. **Creators Club and Shared Content**: The “Creators Club” would allow players to share their creations, such as custom lives and designed scenarios, with the community. This may include new routes, locomotives and scenarios, available to all players or as downloadable content (DLC)
This is all great but I feel like we’re slightly loosing focus on what Train SIM World should be. The community challenges we have a fine, I don’t think we need leaderboards, or anything competitive. Before we know it we will have gone from a Simulator game to just a game. Plus this is just gonna add more to DTG’s plate which results in more issues and less time spent fixing and improving what really matters.
If you want multiplayer... SimRail and Run 8 are thataway>>>> TSW (and TSC) will still be here waiting when the novelty wears off and you want an in depth SP experience (well to be fair Run 8 also offers that, though nothing in the way of scenarios or all day operational timetables).
Yes, why is each paragraph cut off mid sentence or mid word? And the whole post is " written " in a very formal ( not to say formatted ) style.
In fact, when copying a ChatGPT-generated text over to Word, you get two **asterisks** where there was a bold word
Player "Ghosting" could solve a lot of problems caused by greifers when playing online in random free roam sessions or in public multiplayer. Anybody who has ever played a Forza Horizon game will know what I'm talking about here, though not sure how that would affect signalling and trains occupying block sections. DTG would have to come up with some kind of solution for that.
This has nothing to do with what TSW is and always has been. It would require it to be a brand new game and codebase, as we should all know that even the smallest change to the core messes up DLC.
And that's about it for a MP train sim, seeing the name of another player flashing by at a closing speed of 200 MPH. Wow. Otherwise it just becomes a chat room, poorly moderated then leading to what SimRail have done and restricting chat to essential comms directly related to the sim operation only. Or the "good old boys' club" that Run 8 MP is.
Never really dug into this, but is it possible to setup your own Run8 server to play with your friends only? Would be nice to do the work with two or three friends. Those real life railroaders on the Run8 depot server can be a bit "elite" you know
Good morning folks, I've merged the two duplicate threads into one. Please make sure to not create the same thread twice, feel free to ping a moderator if you accidentally posted in the wrong forum section, we can move the thread for you. All the best, Jan
As a general question, what do we think about a thread that is initiated or generated by artificial intelligence, if indeed that is the case here. I'm personally a little wary of such posts. And what do the Forum Moderators think? Is there a written policy?
As someone who's very limited experience of AI has been mostly negative, hard no from me. It's just not the same when you aren't speaking to a human...
I think online could work as long as it isn't like a usal GTA online lobby where everyone has free rule, if the online mode was left like this then people would simply not allow others to enjoy themselves due to the lack of realism. If Dovetail were to somehow make an online mode which had communites/groups you could join like people do with GTA online Roleplay or Fifa Pro clubs then I believe it would work. But I don't know if TSW is at that level to have an online mode atm.
i understand that people want a realistic simulator, but you mustn’t forget that a few years ago matt specified that tsw is a game. if you don’t want to use multiplayer, don’t. people who do want to use it, go ahead
About the only situation where MP could work out is if you could have player-despatcher/signallers, which would help sort out the mess. Another thing to consider is that on lighter traffic routes, you would need to artificially stack the train service as SimRail do, in order to have enough trains to potentially go round. I mean, routes like Cane Creek or even some of the quieter UK ones like WCL or even NTP, don’t have that many trains running concurrently.
