    Hi Guys,
Because TSW 5 is probably gonna come around soon, I’d like to hear your thoughts/Wishes about what routes or trains will be in TSW 5.
My favourite would be either the Geislinger Steige Stuttgart HBF-Ulm HBF (maybe also the new SFS) or the Bodenseegürtelbahn Radolfzell-Friedrichshafen of which I’ve already done a more detailed Thread.
    Best regards from Germany

Don’t really have any expectations on the routes (apart from what we already know). But at least for the British content I’d like them to start putting in more features and keeping it consistent across future trains. Proper functioning GSMR (the ability to put your headcode in), an AI guard like on the 158, 142 and LIRR stock, ASDO and semi active DOO monitors from the 380. Those features are definitely possible. Other features like announcements, manual PIS may come way further down the line but they should still be on DTG’s radar.

My all time favourite would be Hamburg to Neumünster including the Sbahn lines and the City Tunnel (Maybe the section to Itzehoe too).
New locos would be the twindexx and br 474.3.
If there is a loco dlc like the vectron last year i hope its the br 412 ICE 4.

I think by reading the numerous speculation, suggestion and wishlist threads in here you should get a good picture that answers your question.

Well although it Cannot Really Be Named we have a pretty good idea of what the UK route and its trains will be.

Germany could be just about anything though seems it could be a route where a primarily budget coach travel company operates its train service alongside DB.

USA - smart money still on LA to San Bernardino but again we don’t really know.

At this point I’m content to wait for 20th August to see what’s what.

Definitely more metro content, rapid transit etc... we already had the London Underground and is definitely a good route and busy route something TSW seems to struggle with... DEAD routes!!!

If they somehow get the NYC Subway in TSW I would 100% buy TSW 5, that's one highly requested routes(s) that a lot of people want including me. Many people have said the 7 Line or the J/Z (J Line & Z Skip Stop Line) from Broad St to Jamaica Center full route with the M Line branch from Broadway Lafayette to Metropolitan Ave via the J/Z from Essex to Myrtle Ave local is a good route choice. Lots of variety and have the route be based in 2017 when a total of 5 types of train equipment was in use, those being the R-32, R-42, R-143, R-160A and R-179

Car types and their status on the J/Z Lines as of 2024: All these trains ran together in 2017 making it a unique time of old and new trains in service perfect for a TSW route to include 5 train types for a short NYC Subway route to provide variety and unique rolling stock as well as service patterns.

R-32 1964-2022 RETIRED These ran in 2017 along with the 3 train types below
R-42 1969-2020 RETIRED These ran in 2017 along with the 3 train types below

    R-143 2001-present
    R-160A (8 car set) 2006-present
R-179 (8 car sets) 2017-present (these retired the R-32 and R-42 car types above)

Well if it’s the UK route “without a name” we know of then that’s enough for me to buy, I don’t really care about the other routes tbh.

    UK Route: Yep.

German Route: Any Berlin route with a 481 would be super nice. Or the Berlin U-Bahn but I don’t think that’s ever going to happen… The Berlin S-Bahn is 100% possible though.

US Route: Honestly I’d like to see a Subway Route and it doesn’t even have to be NYC. What about Chicago ?? Florida ?? Los Angeles ??.

The Berlin S-Bahn would be one of my favourites, but maybe also the Line From Berlin to Halle and the S Bahn as a DLC

I hope that somebody gives us a class 86 or 87, if we are indeed getting a stretch of WCML in TSW5. Anything with a tap changer would be great.

Guessing that would be a job for Just Trains if DTG are covering the modern day version of the route though.

More BR era locos for the UK, Diesel and Electric.

    So 25s, 26s, Deltics, 50s etc etc

    81s through to 87s

So we'll probably get more EMUs

I think for the mainland europe route being german or maybe austrian. possibly a new ICE or a Railjet.
ÖBB buying Go Ahead maybe giving us more colors on the german railscene if DTG is now allowed to make the Go Ahead trains.

I missed the british leak but yeah I suppose that can be said reasonably sure what it is.

America lost my full interest, 1 train per 2h routes is not my thing.

but whatever happens. I would say more news on the roadmap or dovetail direct.

the thing I would like to see the most though. is the return of the preservation crew.

RailJet *drool* :D ... every time I see them at Vienna Hbf, I want to drive em in TSW :D ... especially those services that are like they arrive to Hbf as single consist, there another Railjet couples onto them and they go further as 2x RailJet, 400m of railway awesomeness <3

For the US, honestly, I’d be content with anything but a subway route. I hate subways. Not fun to ride, can’t imagine them being fun to drive. Drive a quarter mile, then stop. Do that 35 times for an hour. Rather watch grass grow.

I don’t think we’re getting it anyway, so there’s that.

I'd like to see the Vectron for Flixtrain (I know it was in the leak - that's not what I'm angling for here) with a route out of either Berlin, Stuttgart or Frankfurt. Flixtrain also run along the SKA and HRR routes, plus KWG from Kassel to Fulda and DRA, only stopping at Dresden.

Otherwise I'd quite like a dedicated S-Bahn route, somewhere.

yeah I was in one from Wien Hbf to München half a year ago. the klimaticket one to be precise. would love to drive them and see them more ingame. would make Salzburg - Rosenheim real busy compared to the now missing RJ, REX and others

we would also need a route with highspeed section, for which Wien Westbahnhof / Wien Hbf to St. Polten, and possibly further, would be perfect, since it has highspeed sections there :) tunnels, but also some outdoors... KlimaTicket livery is very cool, tho my fav is 100 Jahre OBB:
    upload_2024-7-29_12-41-56.jpeg
and of course, the classic RailJet livery is also nice (I believe it won some design award back in the day)

    I would like to see...

    Routes

    - Southeastern Hastings to London Charing Cross
    - ScotRail Far North Line: Inverness to Ardgay
    - Any London Underground line with extra brownie points for pre-1930
    - A modernized South London line as seen in TSC would be nice
    - The completion of East Coastway to Ore + remaster of what already exists.
    - Ashford International to Dover Priory/ Sandwich via Folkestone

    Trains

    - Class 421 Slam door
    - Golden Arrow
    - Standard Stock Tube train or earlier
    - Hastings Diesels

I want all the routes with all the trains, otherwise TSW5 will be an instant flop that I most definitely might not consider buying. I also demand that DTG feeds the world, reverses climate change and ends all wars. But I know they won't because they can't be bothered. Grrrr.

WCML, Birmingham New Street to Crewe, including Avanti and West Midlands Trains, with future options for adding in other TOCs, e.g. CrossCountry and Transport for Wales. Lots of extension possibilities.
