I have play Peak Forest Railway for a little while now and I found that on some of the Manchester St to London St Pancras services end because it comes up with service failure. FYI I have auto fireman on so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Interesting because the assumption previously was the failures were happening because people had failed to activate the fireman in manual mode. If it's happening with auto then maybe there is more of an underlying cause. Even caught me out doing the Chinley Gala, yes in manual mode but still doing the brake van tour element forgot to hit F, had only driven a mile or so to the sidings and done the run round move before it failed, on a real steam loco the fire "as is" should have been more than enough to see the loco through this 15 minute trip!
I haven't experienced this as such although have only done said service on the rail journeys selection. One thing I do notice is the red light signal is sometimes before the stopping point by like 20/30 yards on the final stop. I play with red light assist on so it comes up on the right before the natural stopping point, like it's not quite lined up right on the final platform. I failed a service because of this...is this what you're referring to?
I know it's an old thread , when I searched Peak forest service failure this thread came up. On PlayStation PS4 going to collect limestone hoppers it randomly says service failure and crashes. Just tried it in auto firing mode. The 4F sounds like it's in need of major overhaul.
Best to put it in manual firing and open the firebox doors. To all intents and purposes it’s still automatic anyway with no coal or water really moving into the loco. Just make sure you open the dampers a bit.
Hey Vern I tried the opening and closing firebox doors part, and dampers at 25%. I think some of the timetables on PF still have bugs/crashes. I did manage to complete a turn collecting the hoppers and loading them at Tunstead , but in auto firing. The Peak forest is a good DLC , I hadn't had a go on there for a few months. The 4F looks nice, but it's exhaust is erratic as you know
Glad you finished the scenario. Think of steam locos in TSW as slightly advanced Triang Hornby models with the old style sound system (a sandpaper strip in the tender) and the smoke generator!
