    The Krakow - Tunel extension should be a free update for all if the dev have not changed they mind :)

    Agreed, looking forward to the German route tbh.
    Actually, feels pretty quiet everywhere trainsim wise, need something new to get me going again. Probably a combination of me not being into train simming as much plus the quietness. Hoping TSW5 will have an amazing new feature to draw me back in. I'm sure something decent is in store for us, be it simrail or otherwise.

    I haven't heard anything about the routes to be done in Germany and the USA. Nevertheless, we found out over 1 year ago the USA route.

    For a minute I was going to ask what but then realised steam with a small s not Steam with a capital S!

    Oh, this could be interesting, particularly if the physics and coal/water consumption are there.

    SimRail is sadly using all their resources for the wrong things. Like the Ty2 Br52, Dresden-Zgorzelec, VR and stuff like that..

    It's not.. it's just things not many people want. The Br642 as an example is a bad underpowered DMU... It's boring.... The Ty2 is nothing else than just a ram eater... And what is vr supposed to do. Like nobody will use it except some YouTubers showing it lol

    They do seem to have lost their way. I’m guessing better single player experience and a save game have fallen far down the list now.

    Just had a quick look…
    Steam DB currently shows around 300 in game.
    TSW4 has over 1100 and that doesn’t include Epic or consoles.
    TSC 892.

    • paper timetable fixes both in single- and multiplayer
    • fixed a bug causing the player camera to sway in the opposite direction when driving from the rear cab
    • work continues on the individual camera settings for each vehicle function
    • ETCS improvements - speed restrictions when leaving FS mode fixed
    VEHICLES

    • Ty2 steam loco development
    MULTIPLAYER

    • Pruszków signal box fixed - now it's possible to switch on the lights via the middle mouse button menu

    Hopefully some diesel loco DLCs will appear that can be used there. 80's were quite diesel heavy. SP/SU45-46 would fit great in such setting (and also some shunting locomotives of various sizes between SM03 and SM42).

    There's no doubt it looks good and if they got on and enhanced the single player game along with a decent save system I would spend a far greater amount of time on it.

    That Skoda could be quite nice, though the game could use a main line diesel loco too.

    I'm glad SR is using Unity. Much easier to mod, and seems to be the better choice for fast moving scenery. TSW uses UE but is not even using the main feature of UE, which is advanced lighting. The night lighting in SR is gorgeous, and trees and foliage look much more real.

    I thought UE's main feature was the ability to walk around in first person.

    On that note, can you walk around in first person in Simrail?

    I've only played the demo of simrail and watched few streams, but the night lighting suffers from the same issues as in TSW, and that is mainly that there is no real light polution in cities and they are pitch black.


    i.e. 24:30
    This is the middle of warshaw, yet it's pitch black. If you continue to watch it will also show another deficiency which is also present in TSW on some places, and that the bright light in stations overexpose things. And same as TSW, train lights are not shadow casting, and signs are not reflecting.

    Where simrail nails it though is the sounds, and the feel that you're in a moving vehicle with nice ambient noises.

    Something wrong on your side. The night lighting in Simrail is the best among reailway sims especially closing to stations

    Let’s not go overboard that is the best :) It looks good but not the best, there is still room for improvment. Maybe if the devs would introduce full support for the ray tracing, then maybe we would have the best night and experience.

    The lure of the console cash-in was too much, so like DTG they have succumbed early on to the detriment of engine and core improvements.

    I understand you need cash to have enough funding for development, but do not promise things you cannot build in a timely manner. With most scenarios lasting 3-4 hours the game is mostly unplayable and even simple drives do not work properly, because of the radio bug, that should have been fixed a long time ago.

    Does this small studio even have a choice? Their financiers dictate the course and how to generate revenue to return those years/millions of investments.
    Gaming consoles are presumable a steady source of income, less volatile than the demanding PC market. PC are for old men anyways, LOL, every kid has a konsole in his bedroom.

    Since DTG seems to prioritise development to cater to the thumbstick players, others are just following their lead.
    Unity, like Unreal is a proprietary game engine primarily geared towards the closed ecosystem of consoles?

    Speaking of closed games lacking a revenue stream, it seems Derail Valley's development has stagnated, Train Planet hasn't posted any news for months?
