Welcome, as you all may have known by now, the class 37 in TSW isn’t particularly the best, having a too wide nose, and outdated sounds and visuals, so today, I will be proposing, the class 37 expert loco edition, featuring more liveries, variants, and more timetable options, across multiple eras and multiple routes. This Loco Pack Features 4 liveries to choose from Rail Operations Group Class 37 (2 variants, exclusively for modern routes) VARIENT 1: Standard Headlights VARIANT 2: Wide Headlights BR Blue Class 37 (Features 3 Varients, and is exclusively on br era routes) VARIANT 1: Domino Headlights VARIANT 2: Headcode Box Headlights VARIANT 3: Standard Plain Headlights without the domino effect. Railfreight Sector Class 37 (exclusively on TVL and a couple of rail tours, 2 variants) VARIANT 1: standard headlights (seen in this photo) VARIANT 2: wide headlights And Lastly…The Network Rail Class 37 (exclusively on modern routes, and features 2 variants, and 2 different cabs) VARIANT 1: Standard Headlights VARIANT 2: Wide Headlights The cab of this loco, features a ERTMS display EXPERT FEATURES INCLUDED: Both the ROG and Network Rail 37s feature GSMR Functionality ROG and Network Rail Locos Layer onto MML, SEHS, GOBIN, and WSR (for rail tours) The Network Rail 37 features 3 scenarios on MML, transporting Mk1 coaches to Derby Litchurch works. ROG Class 37 scenarios would feature 2 new scenarios for SEHS 1 being shunting around the yard and one transporting a dead 375 to the depot. The BR Blue 37 features on almost every BR era route, that’s Northern Transpennine and Blackpool Branches, the loco will also layer onto WSR for rail tour services highlight features: Brand New 37 Model: the Model has been completely redone, now looking much better. Brand New 37 Sounds: All 37s in this pack will feature brand new sounds and physics, sounds would probably be sourced from Armstrong Powerhouse, but will sound great. NRN Radio Functionality: this feature will be added to all the 37s in this pack Cold Starting: The way this work is that there would be a 40% chance that cold starting would happen during the winter periods on timetable mode. Dynamic Exhaust Effects: similar to what was added on the locos in Blackpool branches, the 37s in this pack will feature brand new exhaust smoke effects, that should also be less demanding to run on lower end devices. Traction Overload: the way this would work is that if you do too much power too quickly, it’ll automatically shut the power to 0 Torque Body Roll: as you apply a fair bit of throttle when leaving, the body of the class 37s will slightly wobble, for more realism. Wheelslip Protection (WSP): used on icey surfaces or rain, the wheelslip protection will stop you from wheelslipping as much, by bringing the full power down. To make it easier to run Coffee Mug (Fun Feature): there will be a 50% chance that a coffee mug will appear in the 37s cab. And if you select it, it’ll play a drinking sound, like you’ve just drunken some coffee Anyway, that’s all for today, and thank you so much for reading my suggestion, please feel free to comment anything down below, Cheers - Mrsoutherndriver.
I like the idea, would gladly pay for that Some other things I think would be nice: Rail Operations Group variant could come with a drophead Tightlock coupler, to do class 465 and other drags Make coupling with multiple units more realistic, for example connecting the electrical cables and schraeder hose manually If a coach was included, a Rail Operations Group translator vehicle would be good A variant with the nose doors usable. Not sure when they were welded up or whether there are any references to what it looks like inside though
Great suggestion. I totally agree that the 37 lacks somewhat. Especially after watching some YouTube videos of 37’s on TSC.
In the meantime, check out the level of detail and customisation, down to choosing your horn, ArmstrongPowerhouse offer with their two 37 packs. (Speaking as a railfan, not TSW vs TSC!) https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/free_download/manuals/APC37V1_Manual.pdf https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/free_download/manuals/APC37V2_Manual.pdf
Is the stuff Armstrong makes for TSC paid mods, essentially? I watched the Class 37 video and just about fell in love, especially with the cold start and overall sound quality.
Richard started with sound mods, then enhancement packs and standalone DLC. Interesting interview: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-flare-path-the-man-who-listens-to-trains
I would like to see an expert edition of the BR Class 37. I also want an expert edition of the Br Class 37/6.
