Hi all, not spent a lot of time reading these forums recently, wondering if we have any news yet about the fife circle extension to leven?
No news but it is drivable in game. It’s incomplete but they’ve built it single line to Levenmouth. There’s a few bridges and some terraforming is done. You can drive it by spawning in a train at the nearest station and setting the route for the spur that leads to the Leven branch. Or YouTube it, a few streamers have driven it.
Probably not until end of October early November at the earliest I think. The have to build the second track, build the stations, update the LIDAR for that area, fill area with assets like bridges and other buildings that may have to be built by scratch. Then the new timetable. And all that has to be tested over and over. And possibly be upgraded to what ever the new game is if it is that. Since the survey trip wasn't until June and thats alot to get done.
October or November time is a realistic timetable. The route is already available and drivable on free roam but aside from some bridges and river bed there's no assets on the route. However under bridges you'll see 3D models of the 385 which you can drive through, I assume they were put there to help with height measurements.
I just hope Rivet Games fix some of the bugs in Fife Circle when the Leven Branch comes. Because I'm tired of driving through a huge tree at Burnt Island every damn time... Think I've sent about 20 bug reports for Fife Circle so far.
Rivet also need to sort the utterly horrendous running sounds of the 170 when it's running at 90mph +, as it sounds like a gigantic mosquito is in the cab. Also, its not just quiet because of the insulation, it's actually deadly quiet with no running sounds at speed below 90mph. Hopefully these will be sorted in the Leven Update which will most likely be announced sometime after the Dovetail Direct stream...
