Sorry for the bite… been away from the forums for a few months and after reading through several threads, sort of disgusted with the overall negativity that seems to prevail through most. Used to be a decent forum where one could pick-up some good insights into train operations from different regions, learn about the history of different lines and people could ask questions and get a friendly reply and helping hand. I was a tad on the heavy side with my reply and for that I apologize…. But I do lament what the forums seem to be dissolving toward.
I'm sort of disgusted with the overall quality that seems to prevail through most of the recent DLCs. Might this be a function of that? As in, when the quality's good, people discuss trains; when the quality's not good, people discuss the quality. And you're in a feedback thread for the worst-rated route yet, where the customers have been in no uncertain terms informed that the main complaints aren't even being "investigated" at all, because it'd take too much time to do so. I'd say some negativity's expected. Yes, well, the Steam scores for the game's DLCs aren't going anywhere good either. Again, maybe the forums are just a reflection of the product? Here are the numbers: the game itself (TSW3) is 81% (Very Positive). Its base routes are 68% (Mixed), 100% (Positive), 70% (Mostly Positive), 45% (Mixed) (guess which one's that lol). And the routes released after, in order of release: 72% (Mostly Positive), 53% (Mixed), 59% (Mixed), 35% (Mostly Negative, that's this one), 55% (Mixed). If that's not a negative trend, I don't know what is. And here they are on a graph, just for illustration purposes. Oh, right, feedback. Uhh... personally, I'm not that bothered by trains clipping through platforms, as I spend 95% of the time in the internal view. For me, it's more of a "chuckle-worthy jank" thing, rather than a "frustating jank" thing, such as scenarios being unfinishable/Gold medals being unobtainable/timings being unfair. I do find it funny that in this case, it's a bug that seems to have been carried over 4+ years, and it's still not being investigated. Then again, the tutorial for the route it's been carried over from (LIRR) has finally been fixed just this January, so who knows. Maybe this will get fixed by 2027. The correct action, as everyone knows, would be to delay the unfinished product by "a number of weeks." The fact that not only has it not been delayed, but that a number of weeks after the release, improvements to the timetable haven't even been promised, let alone had work put into them, leads me to believe that this was simply a cash-grab and that the timetable's never getting fixed.
This seems to be happening on several Providence->Boston services. It sure seems like you should be overtaking that train at Attleboro when it moves to the other track. Driving your Acela at 45mph for most of the route is a bit disappointing when this happens. DW
The ALP trains (both ends) acses/atc speed restriction on brake is broken. when I acknwldg and put brake to supression and switch to lap - it is still downpressing until final speed is reached. So slowing down from 90mph to 45mph ends up on barely 10-20mph if you are lucky enough, but usually it just stops you, BP goes all along down, till 45mph is reached, so when you reach 45mph there is only emergency air left in BP. 2nd situation is less common but ocure quite often I got emergency braking after 2-3 sec of alarm, with no time for brake reaction. The HL and LIRR gain the same problem plus strange limitations on GCT NYP stations (system allows you to drive 50mph in GCT!?) I drive HUDless so Im in forefront of gamers affected by any of DTG shortcomings.
I was having this problem frequently for a while too but it seems to have stopped. Not sure if I’m doing something differently. I usually just apply air, then acknowledge, lap it, quickly bail off the independent… Seems to work better than whatever I was doing before What actually is suppression on the Alp anyway? I can’t figure out how to tell when I’m in suppression.
after 17.04 patch ALP supression braking (under acses and atc) is still broken (pressure still goes down after lapping back from service), overspending always results in train penalty stop. This dlc should have a title "TRAIN PENALTY STOP ADVENTURE".
Post patch Service 84 Norfolk - Boston South - Im still getting reduced to 45mph 6miles plus out of metro park with green signals. I think its slowed me down for the interlocking just prior to Metro Park as Ive checked the map and there's no traffic ahead.
I had a similar thing happen this afternoon (post patch) a few times on Keystone Service 651 from NY-Penn to Trenton with ACS-64. Sent me down to 45 about 4-5 times until I got about 25-30 miles from Trenton. Then it settled down. No trains in front of me
It seem like ackonwledge button doesnt work on ALPs during acses/atc speed enforcement (the pressure goes down despite being acknowledged, supressed and lapped).
DTG JD is this thread still being actively monitored or should we be posting any issues post patch in the technical forums/creating patches?
Monitoring where we can, but there have been a lot of multiple posts here. If there are specific issues you're facing, posting in the the Technical Reports forum is probably the better option as we can more easily check through them there. Thanks.
As to this issue I reported on 2023, after changing from PS4 to PS5 some months ago, that is not happening anymore!. It seems it was related to those special UP paint schemes, required more graphic resources!. What it is not completely right are the headlights, which looks not so bright as the regular UP SD70 ACE ones!
One issue with the Class 801 is outside ambient sound being noticable inside the cab when driving at speed (such as birds tweeting etc... ). Something pretty simple but can be irritating when driving and a bit of an immersion breaker.
