Welcome! That is indeed a great run and was the first recommendation in this thread when we were all puzzling about how the dispatcher works. Here are all the recommended runs in spreadsheet form, now up to date:

DRA RE50 Leipzig Hbf - Dresden Hbf at 07:45

You can run it with any number of electrics, but it is really fun with the 218. Just remember that the 218 was never intended to be substituted on passenger runs with these Dosto cars and that there is an issue with opening and closing the doors. You can either play with it to figure it out or just open a door manually at the platform.

It is hard to keep time on this run while taking care of the 218 transmission. I was about 2 minutes late approaching Coswig and . . .

. . . got caught behind a Meißen service with lots of PZB action and restricted speed limits. There is also impressive traffic as you cross over to the express lanes approaching Dresden Neustadt. Impressive AI, some of it waiting on you, into Dresden. I was about 10 minutes late by the end.

    Some DRA freight:
This is a run on the old TSW compatible list. Since then, DRA has been upgraded to TSW4 and the Vectron and 218 have become available. So, I thought it was worth adding to the current spreadsheet.

Freight Dresden to Roderau at 14:19 with the Vectron

It is also a great run, though slightly different with the DB BR 218. I ran PZB M with a max of 115 in the Vectron while the 218 slow gear limit had me top at at 100. However, your speed will be below that as the 218 thrashes up the hill on the avoiding line.

Fantastic AI at the start with parallel running, adverse signals, and a race with an ICE, which you lose. There is also a logjam at Roderau with a train you wait for and a train waiting on you.

I can't even start this route a year later. Launching it puts me on foot at random stations along the route from where my train is. No idea how to fix this!

SERVICE 2I33 Class 380/1 Glasgow Central anti Clockwise
Start of the service you uncouple the 380/1 from a 380/0. Then you proceed round the circle via Pollockshaws West.
    Enjoy! :)

Found a really good service with a lot of AI in timetable mode

    Class 314
    06:50 Glasgow central-Glasgow central (clockwise)
You can catche a glimpse of the azuma departing as you spawn in, on the way out of Glasgow you run alongside a 380, and a 385. And pass a 380, and a 314. You will pass a 380 at Newton junction, another 380 at pollokshields west, and as you enter Glasgow, you'll pass a 314 at pollokshields east, and even more 380s as you come back into Glasgow central.

Service 2M71 Newton to Glasgow Central with the 380 is a brilliant little service with a bunch of activity as you get close to Glasgow, this is on the journey mode too.

I am not sure if I would qualify this as awesome run, but if you are looking for something to improve your freight and PZB skills on, it is a amazing practice run for that.

    Ruhr-Sieg Nord + Red 363 Addon: DB 81904 @ 10:40

This is unusually light but well-braking freight for TSW standards, even enough to achieve all-P brake mode and full 120 km/h consist speed in M mode. You will actually enjoy that speed only for shorter periods, but even that is still welcomed change from the usual 80-90-ish freights. The real fun is, that these sections end up with GPA reductions. So you can be speeding around at 120, but then the oncoming reduction to 90 km/h will trigger PZB influencing that forces you to slow down to 65 km/h instead. GPA-protected influencing only triggers if you are running 15 km/h or more over the new limit. So if you are well-prepared, slowing in advance and only running under 105 km/h when passing the advance warning for 90 km/h reduction, the influencing does not trigger.

Grab the driver's timetable in my signature, keep an eye for every oncoming speed reduction (the advance warning with a magnet generally comes 1 km ahead of its validity), and try to predict the brake curves ahead in such way that you don't trigger the influencing and never have to slow down for PZB any more than necessary. To practice real-life freighting even more, try to maximize use of electrodynamic brake, and only using level 1 or 2 of air brakes. If you predict the brake requirements well enough, more air should not be necessary.

    upload_2024-7-13_8-52-32.png
My tacho strip. Note that the only slowdowns to 65 km/h enforced by 1000 Hz monitoring are those at 70 km/h reductions where it is unavoidable.

I'll recommend Vectron for it, because in combination with Habbiins wagons they have great, above average sound effects (Habbiins could clearly use some lathe grinding, because they let out beautiful thumping of skid flats at selected speeds).

I believe DB 363 addon is necessary to have this service available. Additionally, the service is preceded by DB 81902 @ 10:06, which has your loco bring new logs to Hagen-Kabel, and then shunting onto the 81904 consist, leaving you around 15 minutes for paperwork before the second service starts, without leaving to menu.

    Service 2I33
12:13 Glasgow Central to Glasgow Central anti Clockwise via Pollockshields West.
The start of the service involves uncoupling from a 380/0 set. You take the front 4 car 380/1 set around the circle and back into Glasgow Central Platform 9.

New suggestion for Cathcart Circle TSW4 remastered (which is great--having a lot of run running the brach services out and back again):

380/0, 2P06 07.20 Glasgow Central to Newton. A standard run for most of the service, but there's an interesting arrival waiting for you at Newton if you keep to time (could even be a SPAD trap if you're running a bit early). Then you can change ends for 2M77 returning to Glasgow Central.

Also, I know I haven't been doing this to this point, but might I suggest that when we make service run suggestions, we add the following information: a) what month we were running in, and b) whether we were running to time, early, or late? There are a number of times in which my experience of the services don't match other people's descriptions, and it's presumably related to one of those factors.

I completely agree. For those where I know it makes a difference, I will add the information in the spreadsheets.

Also, I know that timetable updates often change some services. For those pre TSW 3 and 4 runs that are no longer awesome, please post them here so that I can update that spreadsheet; changed runs aren't removed, but lined out.

For TSW 3 and TSW 4 runs, please also post them here so that others, including the OP, can help figure out if the month or exact timing makes a difference.

Add on DLCs are also a huge variable. I think for German and many UK runs, it is safe to assume that all the possible add-ons are needed.

So, in summary, here is the information that would be helpful:

    1. Route
    2. Loco
    3. Service number and starting time. Services can repeat throughout the day
    4. Month
    5. If being a little late or a little early is necessary
    6. If you know that certain DLC are absolutely necessary

Thank you for bringing this up. Thanks as well to all who contribute to this thread. It is the first place I look when deciding what service to run!

Really appreciate this thread and the effort that goes into it.

Newbie question from a PS4 player: When I try to play any of the TSW4 LIRR Commuter runs in the spreadsheet, none of them are in the timetable. I am guessing the console version of routes does not have as extensive timetable options as the PC version?

Thank you. The community has really created a treasure here.

I am on PC, so I don't have firsthand knowledge of the PS4 LIRR timetable. I suspect the timetable has been pared back a bit for PS4, but I would be surprised if most of the runs on the spreadsheet aren't there. Some would also require the M3 which is a separate add-on. It is my understanding that when timetables are reduced to match the platform, the usual cuts are in static services and AI.

Here is what I have on my PC:
    M3: 32 services
    M7: 287
    M9: 306

Hopefully, someone with better knowledge of PS4 will chime it. However, I would be surprised if the services aren't there. What wouldn't surprise me is if they behaved differently without the M3 and with reduced AI.

That is such a cool feature.
It was fun to try and position myself on each platform and hit the 6 car stop marker to maximize the number of doors that could open. I discovered that I couldn't actually control it manually; the process was automatic but always chose the correct doors to open. Did I miss something?./SPOILER]

No. The ASDO system is automatic and will detect what doors are on the platform and will not allow you to release other doors or one's not on the platform without isolated the system first.

    I just tried the "IC2035 Oldenbur Hbf - Leipzig @ 07:33" for Bremen-Oldenburg,
It seemed just a plain run, the 425 and freight train weren't there
I might be missing some DLC or it isn't valid anymore

I have all of the German DLC and just ran that one myself. A passenger service and a freight were ahead of me, but I never caught them. For now, I will line it out in the spreadsheet. Thanks for the information.

I might have been slow :)

What I am wondering though, is why you split the content into 2 separate spreadsheets? one for tsw 1/2 and one for 3/4.
Wouldn't it be easier to make just one ? (escpecially now with cathcart referring to the other)?

In any case, you're doing an awesome job here!

    Thanks. I enjoy it.

There was a brief discussion in this thread about whether to have a separate spreadsheets when TSW3 was released. The TSW 1+ 2 sheet had reached over 350 entries and many of those runs had been impacted by updates. Also, that was literally my first venture in to spreadsheets and was a bit disorganized. The admittedly small consensus was to start a new sheet with TSW3, leaving the other one with the "TSW Compatible" label, and recognizing that there would be crossover routes. With TSW5, I don't anticipate a separate sheet, that remains to be seen . . .

I am always receptive to tailoring this community effort to what is most useful. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

As for that run not working, it wasn't because you were slow. I really enjoy BRO and that wasn't the first time I had blasted a 101 to Bremen. I was a bit early and still never found any adverse signals. Alas, this is the first run lined out in the new spreadsheet. I am tempted to just remove it unless someone can tell us what we are both doing wrong!

Perhaps we can revisit the older routes and renominate runs for the updated spreadsheet. I would hate to lose classics like RSN and MSB especially now that we have more rolling stock.

Cathcart Circle 2024: 1Z55 Ayr to Bo'Ness at 16:44 with the BR Class 47/4

It is a seasonal railtour with some difficult train handling at the start keeping to a 5 mph speed limit up and down a grade: it makes me miss dynamic brakes.

    Then, it gets
There are services waiting on you and you get behind a stopper on the way to Newton. Lots of amber with an occasional red.

I ran it with the BPO 47; which is great for night runs. I also ran it in January for a sunset. This railtours are seasonal on Cathcart. I did some quick spawning and it looks like this one runs in September and October. Does anyone know the full schedule for seasonal services in the new timetable?

Another enjoyable railtour on Cathcart Circle 2024:
1Z97: Mossend Up Recp to Bo'ness Parts 1-3 starting at 13:26
    .

Pick any freight loco you want. The first service is the best, but there is some fun to be had completing all the services. This requires changing ends at Glasgow and Neilston. So, if you plan to do all three, make sure you enjoy driving the loco that spawns at the back, because you will be driving it for part 2.

with Part 1 where you get behind a service headed into Glasgow. Depending on how quickly you follow it, you may get held at Pollockshields East to let another service pass or have a wait closer to Glasgow. Either way, the AI at Glasgow is fun and includes a departing LNER. Part 2 is straightforward. Part 3 has some adverse signals as you follow a service that is headed to Glasgow.

This seasonal tour runs as AI in May and June as best as I can tell.

A beautiful Nahgüterzug (mainline shunting train/manipulation train/industry collection train) on Bahnstrecke Rosenheim-Salzburg:

EZK 54109/54108 (from any shunter, I used G6)

Divided into four parts, this pair of trains serves Rimsting sidings and supplies the local factories with fuel. The consist is tiny, just two wagons there, three wagons back.

I don't remember this type of train being used anywhere else, usually it's just normal through train and then separate shunting within the limits of a station.

    • EZK 54109 Part 1 @ 10:08: Mainline run from Rosenheim to Bad Endorf, ending on the through track and waiting for the free slot, while RBs serve the siding track with platform.
    • EZK 54109 Part 2 @ 10:50: Departure from Bad Endorf to Awanst Rimsting, departing on Zs 1 to the left track (sadly it's steady light instead of correct flashing one), dropping off the inbound wagons, shunting over to the outbound wagons.
    • EZK 54109 Part 3 @ 11:48: Shunting the outbound wagons over to the main track, departure towards Prien on left track, you should get a nice parallel running with a freight running on the right track. In Prien you run around the wagons, trying to fit between the other traffic with your shunting operations.
    • EZK 54108 @ 12:16: Mainline run from Prien back to Rosenheim.
Note especially for those running HUDless – both trains are unfortunately limited to 60 km/h, even while with G6 they would be capable of 80 km/h easily.

Can be ran in one go by continuing from menu.

Not seen this one mentioned yet, 1R18, 19:29 Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh Waverley .
From the new Express Sprinter timetable for E2G, using the Class 385, limited stops run, end up getting caught behind a stopping service, plenty of AWS action, lots of cautionary aspects and a few reds to watch out for. If PBO-DON is owned as well there is an AI Class 801 departing Edinburgh towards Haymarket to watch out for, as you approach Waverley.

In anticipation of the Expert 101, I started re-exploring BSR and found this freight run:

GAG (47815) Rastatt to Salzburg - Part 2 at 08:04

I ran it with the OBB 1116 because I like being able to just apply the electric brake to control downhill speed, but you can choose any freight loco you want.

Part 1 of the service puts you in the hole to let an RB service pass. In Part 2, you follow that service into Salzburg.

What an excellent set of runs! I really enjoyed the wrong line running and parallel traffic and the G6 is such a great loco for the BSR grades.

    Probably by accident.

Last time it was unpinned it was because they were launching TSW4 (I think because they were going to pin various things promoting the launch and didn’t want too many things pinned at the same time) so I suspect this is the same. On that occasion we complained and in response it got moved into a little-used forum, which was even worse!

Until we can get it re-pinned in this forum (which will probably be a few weeks after the TSW5 launch), the key, of course, is to post on a regular basis to keep it on the first page!

Let's get this thing back on top!

Take the service CJX9 (7797) on the Semmeringbahn with the OBB Talent 4024 from Bratislava Petrzalka to Wiener Neustadt taking over in Murzzuschlag. I ran it in August. This is a Semmering Express service with a reduced stopping pattern. This service is a bit of a PZB workout which is a little rare on this route. You get taken over by a Railjet service at the first stop which you get to follow for quite a bit. There is quite a bit of SPAD potential on this one; I had to run this 3 times before I could get it right. Besides that, there's some PZB action when pulling into and out of stations. All in all, great fun and very rewarding when you complete it.

I tore myself away from the expert 101 and Cabcar (wow, both are excellent!) to play this and enjoyed it. I ran it in March to get a sunset and still had the Railject PZB action, but I fell about 2 minutes down on the timetable and didn't catch up to it after Semmering. Nice run.

Here is the latest update. Please let me know of any errors or omissions. Please also post when a run on the spreadsheet seems routine; sometimes runs change with game and timetable updates.

Just had a run on Voralberg, testing the new physics.

R5(25857) from St Margrethen to Dornbirn with the Talent 4024. Unsure if I messed up timing somewhere but was chasing reds from the start.

At spawing in Lustenau there was a train in front waiting just before the single track section for an incoming freight train. The player service follows that train through the single track section, which included a wait before Wolfurt station to let another train out of the freight yard before it.

It all culminates in some more waiting action at Dornbirn where the destination platform is taken by another service that is departing towards Lindau. It also had to wait for another service going through before getting green. The player is let to enter the station only after both AI have departed

All in all it ended with 15 minutes of delay when ending the service, and surprisingly still a Platinum medal. This makes me believe that this is how the service should normally operate given that the scoring was still enough.

I'd also like to request this thread to be re-pinned. It's one of the best IMO.

Anyway, trying out the new suspension on Cathcart and came across this gem:

    2P03 Newton-Glasgow Central 18:48 (2024 timetable)- Class 380/0
Pretty standard run up until the end, when
    Running on-time i get a red signal at Glasgow approach, which leads to a triple-meet with a Carlisle-bound Class 158 and a Class 385.

Really enjoying the new timetable (caveat i have all the DLC for this route, I think). Have fun!

I've played around and can't figure out opening the doors from the 218 cab - any tips anyone?

For me on PC, I need to select opening the doors on the side opposite the platform.

So, to open the left side doors, either tab and click open right or select open right in the cab and then pull the light gray switch.

Again, this is not a bug of the 218 as much as it is a compatibility issue with in game dostos it was never meant to be used with.

And after this run you can relieve the frustrations of having arrived 15 minutes late at your destination by returning to free roam for the follow-on service (with the same service number) which is a nice unhindered full speed empty stock move through the lovely countryside.

There are two BRO runs with the original 101 that are on the list:
T 66704 Frankfurt Hbf - Emden Hbf at 10:13 and
T66707 Emden Rbf - Flakenberg unterer Bf at 17:09

They are even better with the Expert 101.

What they both have in common is that they are ECS runs. For those driving HUDless, the 10:13 WB run is limited to 140 by some of the coaches. The 17:09 run is limited to 100 on the HUD for a reason unknown to me. What makes these runs better with the Expert 101 is that even if you get a fault or two,
. . . you will still have adverse signals. I spent some time dealing with a brake fault on the 10:13 run and didn't actually get going until 10:23; I still had plenty of PZB action.

    GWE class 166.
    3H10 06:34 RTD to Twyford.

Restrictive aspects, and a long wait outside Twyford. I thought it was broken but stuck with it and eventually it stepped up.
