With the us class 1 freight routes on hiatus, why don’t we try a short line? The BCGM railroad, located in potatoland Idaho! The line would span approx. 45 miles and rolling stock would be an ex-ATSF GP30, numbered as BGCM 2404 (EMD 27191, 7622-5, April 1962; ex-BNSF 2404; ex-ATSF 2704:2; ex-ATSF 3204; née-ATSF 1204), as well as an EMD GP9u, numbered as BGCM 1639. Hope you liked this suggestion!
I gotta ask; why are U.S. Class I's on hiatus? I keep hearing that, but wasn't around when anyone explained why. That said, some short line DLCs would be very welcome and I can only imagine it'd be easier to find one willing to play ball. Of course, historical routes would also be great, but I did hear they're ambivalent about those (though if that's the case, why does TSC have so many for sale?)
Think it’s due to security and vandalism concerns but whatever the reason, the Class Ones have pulled the plug.
Well, considering a Youtuber seems to have slammed a BNSF train into a coal car for views, I can understand the concerns. Kinda wonder why a PC game would be seen as having anything to do with it, though.
yeah. it's quite sad to see railfanning in the state it is. you don't have to be 2 feet away from the track. i am able to get some great photos of the NEC in a car. (my pfp was taken in a car @ the philly zoo)
