I have been using mechanical HDD on my computers but upgraded 3 of them with SSD and the download is now 500 mb/s as it should be. It took really long time before to download TSC but now I think it take less than 1 hours to download 520 GB. But I did not notice much difference loading time between mechanical and SSD disks.
You call that slow! Wow on my slow internet that would take me 4 days. lt takes an hour to download 6gb and l have an SSD drive.
I have not noticed the download speed between a mechanical drive and an SSD. I must try it out sometime to see if there is any difference. I do have both on my computer.
It isn't download speed! Solid State Disc read/write speed should be faster, but the difference should be negligible unless the spinning disc is old and hence slow, or perhaps in need of defragmenting, or just over-full. John
Has nothing to do with download speed. Of course M.2 SSDs are fast as lightning vs SATA drives (either SSD or HDD).
On my mechanical it could download for about 5-10 seconds and then no download fpr maybe 10 seconds and then a download again for like say 10-25 seconds and then no download for maybe 4-5 seconds and so on but on SSD it download the whole game in 1 step. No stop in the download at all.
Yes, That would be because you are filling the HDD cache, then it writes to the disk and can fill the cache again, SSD's typically have a larger cache as well as faster write speeds meaning the cache doesn't fill faster than it emptys. Yes the percievable Download Speeds are quicker but thats only because it can saturate properly. The actual speed hasn't changed.
Don't forget to consider internet thruput speed. A Internet speed test can show issues. Poor connections, misconfigured routers all can cause issues. I chased a slow streaming issue to a broken wire in a CAT 5 cable. I put a new terminal end on it and no more buffering circles.
