It will likely be closer to release date, so maybe Aug 12

Honestly, some folks never bother to even glance at an OP before engaging their trolling gear. These words are clearly stated: "Train Sim World 2020, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC August 15th!" (emphasis in original).
Moreover, anyone who bothered to click on the link to TSW2020's display pages would have seen this:
"When Train Sim World 2020 releases on August 15th, you will get all of the new features as part of a free Train Sim World update regardless of what content you own. All of the routes/locos you currently own will stay as part of your collection to enjoy as usual. For the new routes included in Train Sim World 2020 (Main-Spessart Bahn, Long Island Railroad, Northern-Trans Pennine), you’ll have the option to upgrade to get any of these you don’t already own for a discounted price."
Or perhaps not--after all, why bother to do a bit of reading before lurking up from under your bridge?

The only reason people are saying Caltrain is because it's the only west coast US route that fits in DTG's limits for TSW in terms of milage.

Will the ACSES and PTC bugs for the NEC and LIRR be fixed?

I'm also not a fan of opening/closing doors.. That's the conductors job.. Manually opening/closing should be optional.

No, there are a few other options there. The reason we're saying it's Caltrain is they're the only ones with that style of platform and the achievements for the route were leaked on SteamDB and clearly talk about San Francisco and F40PH's.

I knew there was a chance of it being Caltrain but the leaks confirmed. But someone (I don't feel like checking who) said the beta team told them.

    Not quite, it's this one:

I bet that train in your picture will be a DLC eventually, though.

If they make an F40 for the Caltrain route, I really hope it's not as horrible as the TS one was. I don't use the Caltrain F40 and cab car in TS. I just substitute them with the F40 and cab car from the Metra BNSF route.

I wonder if we will get flashing yellow aspects when switching tracks in GWE hopefully this would be included in the new updated version as without it not very realistic tbh.

OK, I'll put it another way... I prefer not to waste my time or energy on what might be when I can spend that time and energy on what is real NOW and just wait until the new real comes along. No harm in that either

The game was built inside unreal engine and dovetail has confirmed that you will be using a sort of toned down version of UE4. I’ve used on real before and it is very unforgiving because it just throws you in there there’s no instructions for anything but I understand your concern but I just wanted to let you know that you will be using unreal and basically pretty much redesigning the game the way you want to.

Unreal engine 4 is quite well documented. You must have missed the academy.unrealengine.com (video courses, requires login) and docs.unrealengine.com (written guides).

I honestly don't think Caltrain has to be the only "compliant" US route for TSW 2020, because for any long route, services and scenarios can be broken down into segments or parts to complete, and after a full set of segments has been completed, the full route would be covered. For example, a good US route for TSW 2020 would be the Pacific Surfliner from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, and have intermediate services such as to Goleta and Santa Barbara. To complete that route, the Los Angeles Commuter Rail Metrolink could be added to add realism, as well as freight trains (BNSF, UP). All the Metrolink lines (Antelope Valley, Ventura County, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Inland Empire-OC lines) can be added, with intermediate services such as from Los Angeles to Laguna Niguel or Los Angeles to Irvine, and from Oceanside to Fullerton, or Laguan Niguel to Fullerton. Complete services can be completed in segments, which could be a fun way for beginners to learn about the routes, and all this could be sold into a "value pack" with all the existing and modern Metrolink, Amtrak, and BNSF/UP trains (EMD F59PHI, EMD F59PH, MP36, F125, and Hyundai Rotem cars and cab cars, for Pacific Surfliner, the F59PHI and SC-44 CHARGER). I would love some good Metrolink material, but I doubt it's gonna happen. Another reason why everybody is saying Caltrain is because DTG has licensing with Caltrain and can use all their branding. Metrolink has already turned down DTG for licensing. They could make it unbranded, but then a lot of people would complain about that. And unlike TS, in TSW you can't just find reskins somewhere with the proper branding.

    Could you post
It's now on Twitter. You can see a lot of F40PH's with the the impressive cars. In the background are skyscrapers. I hope we get details if Union Pacific freight trains will
there be too. I can't wait for the release.

The "TSW 2020-In Detail" thread has more info about it including screenshots. DTG just leaked that the Peninsula Corridor-San Francisco to San Jose Caltrain route would be the proposed US route for TSW 2020. Unfortunately, only the F40PH and Nippon-Shayro cars are in the shot, no info on MP36 locomotives or Bombardier cars.

If they're not mentioned then I doubt that they're included. Possibly they will be included in a subsequent loco DLC.

And if we could regress this route back to the 1970s, Espee would be my fave, ''bloody noses'' all round.........:D:D

Agreed, that would have been interesting to see and would have gotten rid of complaints that the route is the same as in TS19. I'm still happy with a modern day version, though, especially since I never bought the original TS19 route.

I bought the old tsw for xbox one, but I haven't installed it yet. If I download it after August 15th will I get the tsw 2020 routes (Long island railroad, main-spessart bahn and North trains pennine) or just the old ones (NEC and Rapid Transit)?

You'll only get the routes found on the disc. To access the rotues included with TSW2020 you'll need to purchase it once it has been released.
