Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: • TSC only shots allowed. • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). • The Judge of the week's decision is final. • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9PM GMT on Friday, August 16th 2024 and will be judged by me - Mfeets In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 on August 25th, 2024 a new thread will be created using the results of this weeks poll. The theme for this week is: Scale Factor Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.
To explain the theme a little bit more: just use scale in some way shape or form in your photographs to make something in the photo appear bigger or smaller than it really is. For example: We know American trains are huge, but compared to this bridge...
Route: Inseldbahn Train: DB BR 204, DB BR 767 (Cabcar) A DB BR 204 compared to a double-decker coach and the cars.
Route: Frankfurt-Koblenz Train: DB BR 429 A Stadler FLIRT compared to a normal human.(on high paltforms)
Catenery on the South Wales Mainline is pretty impressive, makes the huge Class 60 look small in comparison.
View from the ground of 4014 Big Boy excursion heading home over the 172 foot tall Clio Trestle on Feather River Canyon. Even big looks small.
Giant verses the lilliputian. UP 9000 series 4017 and a narrow gauge Durango & Silverton B4D 65 in the Golden Colorado dual gauge yard. Clear Creek Railroad.
We admire a shunt signal & 5mph speed restriction sign which from our low down perspective look bigger than the 92!
Most definitely one of the most impressive rail bridges I have ever seen! Amtrak Bombardier-Alstom HHP-8 '650' hauling 5 Amtrak Amfleet coaches heads southbound across the Hell Gate Bridge in New York of the United States of America headed for New York Penn with passengers relieved from the Vermonter service due to it developing a brake fault around New Rochelle on a cold Winters morning. Motive Power: Bombardier-Alstom HHP-8 Route: NEC: New York-New Haven Scenario: [HHP-8] Vermonter Rescue Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, ReShade
But not to be out done; the United Kingdom presents it's own offering of an incredible railway bridge. ScotRail Class 68 '68006' 'Daring' of the Stadler-Vossloh UKLight model heads southbound across the Forth Bridge with 6 ScotRail Mark 2 coaches headed for Edinburgh Waverley on an Autumn's morning Fife Circle Line service. Motive Power: Stadler-Vossloh UKLight Route: Fife Circle Line: Edinburgh - Dunfermline Scenario: [68] 2. Circle Service (Part 2) Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Alan Thomson Sim AP Track Enhancement Textures Pack, RW Enhancer 2, ReShade
DB Cargo Class 151 '151 135-1' shunts light engine between the Hohenzollern Bridge and Köln Messe/Deutz in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany after having just dropped off a tanker freight train nearby at midnight. The massive and impressive Cologne Cathedral can barely be seen standing tall over the dark surroundings on the left with '151 135-1' soon to be making a move to Köln-Duetzerfeld to shut down for the night. Motive Power: DB Class 151 Route: Cologne-Dusseldorf Scenario: 5 - Freight traffic Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, ReShade
Alright time for the podium! Lot of really creative shots this week, loved the very different approaches y'all took. In 3rd place we have Blazin , with this great shot of the Hell's Gate Bridge. That thing is really massive! In 2nd place, we have OldAlaskaGuy with this shot looking up at the Big Boy. Love the way that the angle really feels like a person looking up at the train. And, in 1st place, we have Ardaeshir with this beautifully done shot. Great way to use the theme, and the final product looks absolutely gorgeous, the surroundings quaint, overall a near perfect picture. Congrats all! See you guys next week!
Wow thank you all, it is an honor and a privilege to get 1st place! Here is the new thread for the upcoming week: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-week-35.83970/
Congrats Ardaeshir, terrific interpretation of the theme with the novel oil painting enhancement, well done.
