just wondering what everyone is excited for the most

 

The improved live map. I have been waiting for this since TSW first released.

 

WCML, 390 and Shap, along with a lot of others judging by the poll.

 

I have a VR head set which is not bad. But when I take it off I tend to have dizzy spells. So I’m better off doing it the normal way the TV. route hopping gonna be interesting. Good we don’t have to go to the start screen again. Fast travel gonna be good as well you can teleport instantly beam me up scotty. These feature gonna be good.

 

Improved map and fast travel. Oh and everything else.

 

Improved track shadows not an option? Seriously?

 

WCML South, WCML Shap and The 390. Also the other quality of life improvements such as the map.

 

Yeah the new approved map is gonna be useful the outcome on that is a plus.

 

I could only choose 3 so the WCML over Shap beat out WCMLS, but only just otherwise, those and NL route and Kinzigtalbahn are going to keep me occupied for months! My poor wife will barely see me.

The WCML over Shap by a country mile, followed by the GWE remaster and the track shadows.

Have always thought that this route would have been a better choice than KWG tho both are very cool!
This one is exactly what I love about German routes: Mixed traffic, a ton of variety, very busy and variety in the route itself: Big stations, small stops, high and low speed sections, old and new tech!

Will the ICE-T swap out the ICE3 on DRA and HBL DTG Matt ?

Definitely WCML over Shap is the highlight.

The German Route will be nice if done well and the Flix Train will add some colour in a very red world.

Being as I play on both PS5 and PC, I think I’ll get the deluxe edition on PC as I’ll probably also enjoy WCML and the 390 as well as the German stuff. I’ll then get the free version on PS5 and wait for sales to add to that collection.

Why can I only select 3 options?
Either way, mostly excited obviously about the Frankfurt-Fulda route, seeing that we can go from the large main station of Frankfurt, and join into the Hannover-Würzburg highspeed line (or, well, just Fulda, which is part of that highspeed line). I really hope the ICE T is getting new timetables for Dresden-Riesa and Kassel-Würzburg to drive it on these routes aswell.

FLIXTRAIN? Yes finally, my favourite color is a train in TSW! Also: yes finally, the Vectron gets the passenger operation it deserves!

 

Depending on which parts of the route network are gonna be included, then definitely Cardiff City Network for me

 

Great question! For me, the number one thing I’m most excited about is the Dutch Zwolle-Groningen route. It’s amazing to finally see a Dutch route in the game.Secondly, the Kinzigtalbahn Frankfurt-Fulda is another route I’m really looking forward to, especially because of the new ICE-T. I was hoping for an ICE 3neo or ICE 4, but the ICE-T is still an awesome addition!And lastly, the improved track shadows are a huge deal for me. The old shadows were really distracting during the ride, so I’m thrilled to see this has been addressed. It’s going to make the experience so much better.

 

I’m looking forward to the wcml as someone with autism I love routes I know nothing about also I’m looking forward to the added replay value born out by the duel voltage of the new 377 and the included desiro on the wcml also looking forward to the new quick travel features and the class 390 pendalino and the awesome looking Siemens flixtrain vectron in that nice striking green complete with her own unique carriages

 

Matt explained the reason for it, but he also said that many routes will have been upgraded with better(solved?) shadowing.

i understand your point, but the question is what are you MOST looking forward to, not what is EVERYTHING you’re looking forward to

 

I know this probably isn't on most people's top priorities, but would love to see DTG dig into VR possibilities. I have PSVR2, and the quality of some of the games I've been playing are amazing. I haven't played GT7 VR mode, but heard it was extremely realistic. Which means for TSW it would probably be something similar.

I do want the other stuff too, but they aren't as high on my list.

 

The two WCML routes. The Cardiff route, I like network routes and I know the Cardiff area so this would top the list if it wasn't for Preston to Carlisle.

I would have chosen Frankfurt but probably WCML south pips it to the post.

I would have voted for selectable substitutions but that wasn't an option.

BTW: Isn't "Route Hopping" and "Fast Travel" one and the same?

 

- Fast Travel is teleporting inside a map to different places (already available via GodMode on PC)
- Route Hopping means teleporting to the same place on a different route, from ECW Brighton to BML Brighton, or RSN Hagen to RRO Hagen for example

 

No.

Route hopping means changing route, especially on a station that exists on both.
Say, you start at Wuppertall, go to Hagen Hbf, then change over to Ruhr Sieg Nord to continue your drive to Finnentrop.

Basically the compromise to not having route mergers.

Whereas fast travel is just that, on a single map.
You just arrived at a freight depot and wanna be at the main station?

Not surprised San Bernardino currently has a big goose egg in there.

If I had to pick the one I’m mostly looking forward to it will have to be Preston - Carlisle. I love very long distance routes and I have no doubt JT will put so much detail into the route from start to end.

 

The new live map, the old one has been and always was horrendous to use. Also the fast travel, I will now be able to just quickly fast travel along a route to quickly do the collectibles.
Route hopping sounds good, only issue I can think of is I route hop to another route with the same station, however because its an older route the station suddenly looks a bit different.

The Boston -Worcester route is really the only thing I'm looking forward to. I do have a passing interest in the GWE remaster because it's one of the oldest and best of the TSW routes.

And I welcome the revised map, bringing TSW more in line with the 15 year old map in TSC.

But, as a US player, there's nothing in the launch of TSW5 that I'm willing to pay for. Any good stuff is sometime in the future. I'll save my pennies.

 

Planes in the sky! I think I heard at some point you could spot 12 planes in the skies on a route. The skies are coming alive!

 

I love all the new features especially the new map, improved track shadows, screen accessibility, and fast travel. The latter being one of my biggest wishes since free roam was added. But also the Frankfurt - Fulda and the Flixtrain Vectron are just awesome to finally have

 

US freight is one of my favourite pastimes in the game.
US passenger isn't.
I realize it's nobody's fault, just feeling less enthusiastic about my future with TSW.

 

I’m mainly excited for MBTA commuter and San Bernardino

 

WCML:S, WCML Overshap & Trackshadows.

There were a couple of other things im looking forward to, such as the 390 & the new German route combined with some Vectron Passenger action, but first thing I’ll be doing is hopping on the WCML & further that, sat twitching waiting for OverShap. The track shadows is huge too, in terms of graphics that’s probably the one thing I want the most (closely followed by some gamma settings).

Cardiff City Network is potentially up there, but until I know what the stock is, I’m neither here nor there on it.

I will say yikes at the US votes, they aren’t great going off the numbers there, but what’s interesting is that theres more fanfare for the MBTA line than the Metrolink.

-New loco is a rebuild of one we already have (The MP36)
-Line isn't anything special (The run down I-10 isn't that impressive)
-Freight is unknown atm (Layers, but nothing else we know)
-3rd route in a row in SoCal for TSW's launch content.

MBTA
-New loco we haven't seen (HSP-46)
-Bi-Level equipment (Well requested after Boston Providence)
-Route has help from Brandon, whos past work is well praised
-Freight layers are known to be included in the timetable
-More MBTA has been requested for awhile, and we haven't seen them since TSW2.
