When every new germen dlc was annonced, I will pay attension on its wagen. Still ! No high floor dostos. How long do we need to wait? I dont care if I need to pay for it.
Agree We have so many routes that need them, because irl there are no low floor dostos driving on them at all. (HBL as an example). In Videos from Hanau or Fulda the Re 50 (we most likely will get with Frankfurt Fulda) seems to only use them too. If Dtg would do them once, only once, i wouldnt have a problem with them recycling those on new routes like Dtg does with low entry ones nowadays.
I hope that Dtg will bring out the DB Regio DR double-decker coaches (modernized), high-floor double-decker coaches and Wittenberg control cars
a bit off topic, but what exactly is the difference between 112 and 114? 114 is sth like more powerful variant of 112?
You're citing the article about the E10 (DB BR 110 primarily). There have been a couple of E10 fitted for 160 km/h, later on renumbered to the BR 114. These were mostly used on the TEE-trains in the 1970's. These locos (around 20) had some serious issues with the bogies (slowed down to a speed of 120 km/h by order), and were out of use in the 90s (actually, most of them got bogies from the E40 and have been renumbered to BR 139). So, when the BR 112.0 was renumbered to 114 in 2000, none of the 'original' BR 114 weren't in use anymore.
No. There was precisely one (1) class 114.3 loco that was a 140 km/h upgraded 143. All other 114s are 160 km/h locos that were (except for two 160 km/h 143 conversions) built new. English Wikipedia is incorrect/inclomplete on this. Yes, the works to convert a few more 143s to 140 km/h were done, but these locos were never approved for 140 km/h and kept the 143 designation. And yet through sheer coincidence he's the only one in this thread who is correct about the top speed of the 112.0/114, which is 160 km/h. The 114 locos used to be numbered 112.0 - they're the immediate predecessor of the 112.1 we have on Hamburg - Lübeck. They look a bit more like a 143 and the cab is a bit different, otherwise they're identical.
There is no doubt that they drove up to 160 km/h, it was just that there was an older 114 and a younger 114 and in fact both 'generations' were basically designed for 160 km/h.
