Hello everyone, having had TSW from day one, I've noticed that the PC requirements have been increasing steadily with TSW 2,3 and 4. I had a new graphics card last year, but now my PC is running very warm whilst playing TSW 4. So I have decided to go for a new PC, but am concerned that it won't cope with the ever demanding games. The PC will be a Chillblast with a Ryzen 5 7600 AM5 CPU with a Gigabyte Radeon RX7600 gaming 8GB OC GPU and 32GB RAM. I know this is well above the recommended spec for TSW 5, but for over £1K I want to be sure. If anyone has a PC with a similar specification who also runs TSW 4, what do you think ? Thanks in advance, Dave.
There will never be enough PC power for this game (smile). On my PC (i7 -12700K, RTX4080S, RAM 32, liquid cooling, Win10, 4K, ultra settings) in most cases FPS is from 70-90 (CPU load up to 20%, GPU load 100%), but the system generates more than 350 W of heat (the room is well heated during sessions). Reduced heat generation by limiting FPS to 60.
I have a 12GB RTX 3060 paired with a R7 5800X and the game runs well enough on most routes. I do have some shadow related Engine.ini settings, so the FPS might be lower than what it would be without. but its fine with a good 50-60 FPS on most routes as said
Why you paid more that 1000 pound for this pc? If im calculate the individual products i will get around 700/750 pound as a absolutely maximum.... This is bizar how shops try to ask bizar prices for products where you never paid that much if buy it seperate online and found somebody to build in youre pc.... An AMD Ryzen 5 7600 = 180£ AMD Radeon RX7600 250£ Maybe you can better search a bit more... To pay over 1k£ looks like a little a scam
It depends what resolution you are playing in? Ot should be OK for 1440. You could probably find a better deal.
Yeah its way to expensive to pay this amount. For 1440p its fine for 4k its way to weak. To play on 4k you need at least a RTX4070 or AMD RX7900 and a way better CPU. I have a RTX4070ti thats more than the helft in price of this whole pc with around 900 pounds so its not fair to ask this amount and do not expect that much from this system.
On the graphics card I'd probably recommend one with at least 12GB. Per what has been said about how overpriced prebuilt PCs are, for how easy it is to assemble components, the difference in price ought to net you that. (I have helped a few total newbies assemble their new PCs over a video call, dismantling one of my own on the stream, and talking them through the assembly visually - they are usually surprised how simple it is, it's all matching specific shaped pegs to matching holes, one of the first things you learn as a baby)
Yeah thats the whole point... If you buy my pc prebuilt you pay over 3k what this pc isn't worth at all..... And the real price for my pc in separate components is around 1500/2000 euro.
This game will max out whatever you throw at it. I have a RTX 4090 overclocked and a 14900K and at 4K Ultra settings and 141 percent screen setting in the option menu it maxes out my GPU at 100 percent or close to it most of the time. My frame rate stays at around a 100 but will dip to 60 or so because of the engine in the game and shaders. I will be upgrading to a 5090 when they come out and trade in my 4090 at Micro Center where I bought it when the new ones come out the beginning of next year.
What are you try to say beside all those bizar pc specs what nobody has to have... PC like a raket is completely waste of money a bit of tough talk and no contribution at all
Yes your specs are quite sufficient. I don’t play TSW on PC myself as I prefer it on the PS5. I did download TSW4 on pc recently though just for fun to see what it was like. All my settings were on ultra and the performance was really good. I tried SEHS. My specs are: Ryzen 7, 32GB Ram, RTX 4060 8G and a 27” 165HZ display. I only use my PC for MS flight simulator though, as I couldn’t handle the poor frame rate/experience on the Series X.
I think youre pc is nearly the same what the OP wishes to buy but if you have to pay that much its really a question i think 1k is way to much for those specs.

The guy is only mentioning his pc specs and how well the game performed, like everyone else has done. This is what the OP asked “their experience” with the game on PC. How can you not mention specs when referring to your experience on the game.
As has been said, the price feels like a daylight robbery and I would just go with a custom build instead. The Ryzen 5 7600x feels fine but for the GPU, go with an RX7700xt instead. Pair it with 32 gigs of ram and a decent PCIe SSD and you shouldn't have any regrets. I personally have a Ryzen 5 3600, an RX 6700xt and 32GB of DDR4 RAM (think of it as an older version of what I'm proposing) and it's doing just fine at 1080p max settings with 150% scaling (sometimes even 200%). As well as handling many other modern titles.
I never bought my PC to play TSW to begin with, It’s nice to have the option though. I’m more interested in TSC for PC. Waiting for those steam sales. If someone has bought a PC set up of a high spec/caliber just to play TSW, than yeah that is a waste of money. If that’s the only game you plan on using it for. I say that as not many users are gamers on here and only enjoy simulation.
A big thank you to everyone for their comments and advice. I won't be purchasing that PC from Chillblast ! I will take time to look around for a more realistic deal.
Good choice! If you need help later on don't hesitate to ask here if a system is good enough and if the price is in a good range!
A sound choice. However, bear in mind the 64GB DLC limit (including core routes) that plagues the PlayStation, and the fact that you'd have to buy all of your content again. Not that PlayStation is bad, but once you start on one platform, it is easier to stick to it in my opinion.
Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware about the 64GB DLC limit. Looks like I won't be going down that route then.
Wait. I forgot that the limit was fixed a very long time ago. Effectively, the limit was for 'mounting' DLC, not installing it, so DTG made their 'add-ons manager' which will mount relevant DLC to whichever you're playing. This means you won't see all your DLC at once (which could prove problematic if you use Creator's Club tools). Someone who actually has a PlayStation should explain this. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/train-sim-world-add-ons-manager
Ok here comes the obligatory question. What specs do you have right now? Maybe you don't need to throw everything away and can just upgrade to get up to spec. That is as long as it at least has DDR4 RAM.
The story earlier was that upgrading or buying separate parts needs some knowledge about pc building and clearly he did not have that. Thats way this prebuild pc selling companies are asking such bizar prices. They take profit from those people
My current PC spec is :- Intel core i7 - 7700 CPU @ 3.6 Ghz 16GB RAM 64bit Windows 11 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti PNY 2TB SSD. TSW4 runs okay with medium performance but does run very warm at times.
So if the performance is acceptable at the moment but the PC runs hot and loud, has anyone thought about basic maintenance? You know, just open the case and wipe or suck out all the dust (careful not to overspeed any of the fans). Maybe replace the thermal paste on the CPU with a high-quality one if that's never been done. Though that step is just a tiny bit involved. Also I would rule out the GPU from causing any noise issues since it's prettymuch brand new. If the cleaning goes right and you find the thing redeemable, then we could pick some other things to improve. Also I would love to see some pictures (especially the motherboard and fans) so that we know what we are dealing with. Also this is great for reference:
Yes - I have decided to keep to my current PC. TSW5 runs fairly well, couldn't justify spending a lot of money on a game.
Well.. Reading this on my pc with R5 7600X & RX7600 is painful after I got about 20-30 fps in the middle of Frankfurt - Fulda. And that were high settings, not even ultra. What am I doin wrong P.s. Temps are okay, playing full HD, not 1440p Did a bit of testing Route: Frankfurt - Fulda (TSW5) Location: Frankfurt HBF, on a first introduction scenario 1920x1080; R5 7600X; RX7600 8gb; 32gb ram; 650W power Ultra and high presets: crashes Medium preset: 20-25 fps, 100% GPU usage Low preset: 55-60 fps, 80% GPU usage BTW elder DLCs (Ruhr - Sieg for example) work perfectly on ultra preset Is it really normal for my pc?
I'm having some serious frame rate issues for example when another train comes past me while my train is moving the frame rate drops to less than one frame a second for upto 5 second. Cannot figure out what's wrong. My specs are R77800x3d Running at 4k ultra capped at 60hz with v sync enabled. 190 screen percentage. Msi b650 gaming plus wifi board Sapphire pulse amd rx 7900xt 20gb 32gb ram corsair vengeance 6000mhz cls 36 Corsair 850 w 80plus gold. Can't remember exact model. 2 tb ssd samsung 980 pro.m. 2 nvme I've tried getting video on my phone but I cannot get a small enough video.any help would be appreciated. Are amd radeon just rubbish at handling this game. I switched from series x for better performance and no blurry textures.
