From the 390/WCMLS Timetable Article: The 390 is, obviously, layered in... Then so is the 350. TPE ran 350s up to Scotland for years, but the article suggests they were temporary visitors... London Midland 350s ran to Scotland briefly during the 2014 Commonwealth Games with (I think) TPE. So, it begs the question: When is this route even set at this point?
Looking at this image, they were definitely there in the recent era. Not sure exactly when but definitely in the last few of years as it's got the full LNR livery. (EDIT: Photo was from Jan 2020)
The first Class 350/4 passenger service between Manchester and Scotland was on 30 December 2013. Thereafter these units progressively replaced the Class 185 Desiro DMUs until all were in service by 2 April 2014. SOURCE: https://www.railengineer.co.uk/class-350s-scotland/
Another layer for me to disable then... I don't understand DTG's logic when it comes to layers. They'll happily throw in a HST at Clapham Junction or a 350 here despite the window for that having happened in real life being incredibly small, but they won't add the Pendolinos into stations that desperately need them like Manchester Piccadilly or Birmingham New Street. Thank god you can turn off layers now. It's incredibly immersion breaking for me to see LNWR 350s at Glasgow, they were not there for very long at all.
Those were Transpennine express units, not LNWR. They've been gone from the line for a few years now.
Cathcart Circle is set in 2013 / 2014. That was the OP question, and that's when those class 350s were running there. What's your problem?
This is due to those layers mentioned being included, when timetable was done/redone, but for Manchester Piccadilly or Birmingham, you would need to change the timetable again, test it, etc .... That is a big difference If we are to get a new timetable for Glossop or Cross City, surely there will be new layers then. But will we get a new timetable? Time will tell
There were also Class 350 running in Glasgow in 2020 for example: https://www.flickr.com/photos/157490093@N08/49439341438
That's the point though. Not very long is still a span of time that counts as happened. And players can chose if they want that specific time period or not. Allowing them to see TPE traffic. The alternative is I don't do them at all and no one has the choice.
the more that's included the better for me, i'm personally really happy with this and it's just yet another addition to cathcart that makes it even more interesting, so thanks Joe i say keep it up!
It isn't though. Avanti West Coast weren't around then so it has to be set within the last few years.
This is where an activate/deactivate tickbox on the Creators Club will come in handy, instead of having to search/download/uninstall/search/download/uninstall each time you want a specific livery to appear or not. I've no doubt the 350 will be reskinned into TPE via Creators Club, so would then appear on Cathcart but would then of course appear on WCML. Could this on/off livery option on Creators Club be looked at for TSW6, much more useful than just a layer on/off tick
Which makes things even worse, as the 314s shouldn't even be there in 2019. DTG couldn't get the Virgin Trains licence, so they didn't have a choice... It's Avanti livery or nothing.
It isn't just DTG who layer in inappropriate layers. At least in TSW5 you can turn them off. I won't be able to stop a class 40 appearing at Blackpool though unless I delete the layer completely which is using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. I will at last be able to delete the fantasy layers in WCL, well I would if I played it. There was quite a debate some time ago about this, I was clearly on the losing side of the argument. Removing layers in some cases will be a good compromise. I love the CCL remaster and timetable but I would love a 318 or 320 available to replace the 314, for those that wish to, to make the timetable realistic.
I was asking specifically about LNWR/LM units. I was aware of the TPE 350s (been on them many times, still miss them) - but hadn't ever seen LNWR ones. I do seem to remember LM ones, having been shown them by someone up-thread.
