Is this windows 10 or 11? Have you run the Event Viewer or View Reliability History? It may be worth trying the windows diagnostic apps. sfc /scannow and the DISM commands (Google) to see if there is a "windows" issue. Even dxdiag.
What is Powerhouse? When I download something from AP it comes with an exe that I just Run as Administrator.
Powerhouse is the AP scenario standalone application. They currently have 99 AP exclusive scenarios at a cost of $0.99 each (or at around that price)
A link to all of the AP Scenarios I have done https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/misc/ap-scenarios use the '>' icon to scroll through or click on the number to show an indexed link to content. Enjoy
What are people's feelings about the class 142 version 2? Is it a significant upgrade over the original AP/Waggonz version?
It's great as it includes all 3 variants of engine and gearbox combinations. Plus there's the bounce factor so you can either tone down the suspension or whack it up to 5 and have an extremely bouncy, motion sickness inducing drive.
Something I kinda found it weird about a pack from AP. So I recently have bought the class 90 & DVT (plus freight liner) and the MK3 A and B pack and checked out the list of liveries provided. How come some liveries in the DVTs are just lacking compared to the Mk3 A and B? Like liveries on the MK3 have Greater Anglia, Wales Arriva, Chiltern, Pretendolino/Virgin Trains. All these liveries does not exist on the DVT. Did AP purposely missed out on those liveries for the DVT or something? And I suppose if I want those liveries for the DVT to match the MK3s liveries I suppose I have to find reskins elsewhere then?
The Class 90/DVT pack is very old now (10+ years I think) and comes from a time when it was by no means normal to provide the wide selection of liveries you see in AP packs now. AP give this lack of consistency in their older products as a reason for discontinuing them and I think your post somewhat vindicates that. I imagine the 90 has managed to hold on due to sheer popularity even if it is does show its age now.
Oh so it is reasonable ? I still find it very weird how the class 90 pack didnt provide the livery I mentioned earlier and had to go and find different freeware reskins for those (love the community being able to do so honestly the ones I needed extra for the DVT/Class 90s looks stunning). And then later dunno when they will get to redoing it (if they ever do) then I have to rebuy everything again . I am just thankful that I bought the pack (along with the Anglia route they have cuz apparently a greater Anglia reskin needed this route for some reason) during a quick small sale.
If AP were a decent provider they'd also supply every livery the locos could ever appear in, including those for TOC's that as of yet don't exist, and a fair number of fictional ones. I'd also expect a qualified systems engineer to call round at my convenience and install the product for me.
You are comparing the Class 90 & DVT pack that was released in 2013 and the Mk3 A&B pack that was released in 2022. In 2013 there was no dedicated Mk3 stock in the game and the coaches were repaints of Kuju Mk3 stock. There are quite a few reskins available for the DVT and Mk3 stock on a number of sites
Moan, moan, moan.... that's all there is in AP threads. If you don't like AP stuff... just don't buy it, simple.
It's not that he doesn't like it Pookey, more a case of bring disgruntled because AP didn't consider that in the future somebody would want a class 90 in a livery that the class never carried.
Only thing I don't really like about AP is the discontinuation of older sound packs when there's alot of content out there that still requires them. Apart from that they're awesome - just wish I had more space on my PC - time for an upgrade me thinks.
In fairness I think that is on the third- (fourth-?) party creators who have used them as dependencies. Ideally they would update their own offerings to use the superseding AP product, but obviously for various reasons that doesn't always happen.
Oh and also the fact that they're so expensive over here in Australia, as our dollar is basically worth double UK money.
It's worth half actually, the lower value is stronger, I can earn a £100K in Blighty move to Aus and be worth twice as much as you who earnt $100K AUS.
Having only been into TS for a little over a year I only just really dipped my toe into the AP world in this recent sale spending around £200!!! (Don’t tell the wife!). For what I got for that though was a heck of a lot and I’ve really been enjoying TS way more than I was.
And once you play with one of the AP locos/trains you realise that most of the default stock used in TSC is pants with sounds and functionality etc.
Agreed - I just spent just short of £200 on a single loco last week - but then I do have something tangible https://railsofsheffield.com/produc...diesel-locomotive?_pos=5&_sid=9a4d07200&_ss=r
And when taken well care of, models retain their value on the second hand market. Especially if their retail box is still intact. Some even become collector's items and fetch large sums at auctions. While digital models? Well, it's just bits and bytes, pull the plug and they vanish. Plus, the licence to use are strictly personal and non transferable to another account. When you die, nobody can legally inherit your ££££ worth of computer games and DLC.
That's around 4% of what I've spent so far on TSC, and I'm in the amateur league compared to some here!
Latest Newsletter with news on the upcoming Mk3s and HST packs. https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/latest_newsletter
Quite excited for this, especially as it says the Valenta won’t be far behind. My absolute favourite train in the game.
Naturally, I'm not aware of MK3 coaches ever being hauled by something other than a loco. Shunting ponies went out with Dr B.!
wait the MK3&B was released in 2022? I am surprised it that it was fairly recent. I also hear that in their recent newsletter that they are updating the pack again too.
The first 10 Mk3s went into the prototype HST in 1972, and the need to satisfy the demand for HST stock meant the number of loco hauled coaches ordered was reduced.
I was thinking of getting the weather update thing but is there a difference from the default which i think is pretty darn good and is there a framerate hit?
Default? You mean the default weather out of the box? Hell yes, it so much better. Not noticed a frame rate hit here, and I'm not exactly using a high end PC either.
I would love to see screenshots like these in the TSC ingame loading screen. Far better represents what I see in the game rather than the ones that are not using MODS. Good effort Pookeyhead!
What a strange formation A pre named class 87, before 1978, and a Mk2E RFB that was rebuilt from an FO in the late 1980s
What do you mean, "meant to have the weather pack"? It can (and should) be applied to all routes, and it's not only weather but also a sky replacement with much higher resolution textures and better lighting plus improved core shaders. To not drag this thread off-topic, here's the APSWEP2.0 thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ap-weather-ep-2-0.82235/
oh sorry, my wordings a bit poor. what i was asking was, when you were taking those screenshots did you have the AP Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack on (or was using it)? Or did you not have the Sky and Weather Enhancement Pack when taking those screenshots?
