ECML Diesel Railtours brings exciting new content, both for the East Coast Mainline route and TSW5 as a whole. Highlights of the pack include a brand new Class 47 locomotive. Modelling what is often regarded as the most iconic member of the Class, 47484 Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The locomotive, featured in its special edition livery, was often used on numerous railtours and hauled the Royal Train, from its base at Old Oak Common shed. Utilising the latest in modelling techniques in TSW5, the locomotive also features custom 3D nameplates and 3D number plates. The team have even gone so far as to recreate the variations in each cab end, after the real locomotive was rebuilt following accident damage! The pack also brings to TSW5 a range of Mark 1 coaches, in BR blue and grey livery as much requested by the community! In addition to the widely sought after liveries, each of the coaches has also had a 3D makeover, bringing them to the exacting and exciting standards achievable in TSW5. Included in the pack are the BG, TSO, BSO and FK. Both the loco and the coaches can be used in quick drive across a number of routes, and community created scenarios are supported. However, we are also thrilled to announce the inclusion of 10 custom scenarios for the East Coast Mainline add-on, featuring the 47484 and a range of other locomotives! Pushing the boundaries of what is achievable, the team have created scenarios around the latest TSW technology, with new features such as complex depot movements and the opportunity to run around your train, coupling double headed formations for very special railtours along the route. We have also aimed to bring the railway alive, with a plethora of authentic AI services, supplemented by static consists along the route, including being signal checked as you give way to priority services along your journey! If that were not enough, there is also the opportunity to learn a little more about Isambard Kingdom Brunel in a special trip introducing the locomotive and the achievements of the great man himself! Breathing a little more life into the ECML route can’t be bad. They’ve stated they have a few other things, including routes (modern UK) that they’re working on too, so another positive for the overall TSW UK community!
A shame there is still no catering vehicle (RMB or RBR) to round out the Mark One collection. A Railtour consist would almost certainly have some sort of buffet or restaurant car in the formation.
Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate scenarios that have you do some shunting as well as the mainline runs, but could you please elaborate on how exactly any of this is a "new feature" and "pushes the boundaries of what is achievable"?

When we started planning this pack (our first release) we looked at what the community was frequently commenting on and quality was a big priority. So that's been on our minds through everything we've been working on. It was also important to the team that we don't make scenarios that were just copy & paste repeats of what you've seen and done before. So we looked at what was being done with other scenarios, came up with as many unique and standout ideas as we could, discussed what we understood was achievable, and came up with a set of scenarios that we knew would be very complex and challenging to get right, but ultimately worth it. There were challenging elements of what we wanted to do that we couldn't find examples of in other scenarios, so we worked with DTG to find solutions and to check we were going down the right path. I believe they are unique and different, and I'm excited with what we've built and I hope you enjoy them. I'm having a lot of fun taking screenshots at the moment, and can't wait to share them (will be looking to share soon™). What will be important to us, as always, is what you think when you get to try them out.

Well it’s been a personal campaign of mine ever since we got Mark Ones in the game and DTG never got round to expanding the selection. An RMB probably the easiest to do as essentially a modified TSO.
Anyone of us with knowledge of modeling and UE4 can make these fancy add-ons. No idea, when Editor will be fixed.
As I said in the other thread set up, welcome to TSW. I must say this pack is certainly a bit different to usual but I really do like all the things that have come out of Athena's mouths so hope all the content will be just as good. Look forward to future releases. A buffet really would go down well mate!
Yes ECML is a frustrating route. Reminds me of one of those minimalistic new build homes that are crying out for some clutter.
Please make the Class 88 in DRS livery for using on Timetable Mode for Routes like WCML, ECML or Glasgow to Edinburgh
Then catering mode like conductor mode but you can cook breakfast or make ham and cheese sandwiches, finally be able to take orders out...
wow, this pack looked great when i first saw it and gets better the more i read. is there any info on when more infomation or screens shots may be avalible or a time frame when it may be released? but i must say you've done a bloody good job and it seems like this pack might be on just trains' level. this just adds more to prove that the newer (to the tsw series) developers are the ones who try the hardest and just like to out do each other and definitely out do some of the other older developers, cough cough rivet. very excited to get my hand on this and to see whats in store later on down the line
Athena should be the Perfect developer for Both the Class 68 and 88 if they recorded the sounds in real life and make a Great Setup
At very least we need to have the buffet cars open including having the Mk3 MML and GWE cars opened. These cars have always been awful in the closed configuration, reminiscent of the many high streets up and down the country with closed shops. Opening the counters will really add a new dimension to the game.
Welcome - it’s great to see a new developer coming into TSW, and blue/grey mark 1s are particularly welcome. The only thing I would say in terms of future decisions on products, is that for many people the big stand-out feature which places TSW above TSC, is Timetable Mode. Previous threads and polls on this forum have confirmed that to be the case, and many of us only play in Timetable Mode. Therefore, your market will be much bigger if your products include the addition of some schedules which will appear in this mode. Best of luck.
First of all thank you for the kind words. With the scenarios in our first pack, we've paid close attention to the services that overlap with the timing in each scenario, so you will encounter accurate and believable traffic along the route. In addition, we've made sure to layer in DLC content on each scenario in the form of static consists, and scheduled AI services. Our hope is that this meets with the expectations of the community, but as always we'll be on the lookout for feedback and comments on where we can improve. As for the Timetable Mode, this is something we've been discussing a lot. Most of our team have had experience working on TSW products before and we are familiar with the community interest in fully realised timetables. When we deliver our first route, we will be looking to bring a high standard of quality to the Timetable Mode, including long term support in layering in future content from DTG and partners to expand what is available as new options arise.
I am highly excited about this. the lacking AI in services and some being just drive from A to B with rain I generally only played them to learn a route or train. not all scenario's are like that and some are definetely enjoyable. but actual layers, a continued support timetable for your new route and the lookout for feedback. amazing. I'm glad we have another new developer which to the sounds of it might get up to the top 5 shortly after the first release.

Sorry if this has already been answered/is a dumb question; but will there be any timetabled services or will it only be scenarios? Either way, I'll definitely by buying this, being the diesel fanatic I am, and I've always loved driving railtours in the game but have always been a little disappointed at the lack of them in-game...
A nice, simple introduction into the TSW franchise. Excited to see what you guys are working on in the future.
Ten scenarios seems interesting, hopefully they turn out to be good, because a pack that includes modified content that has already existed in the game for a number of years is a hard sell. Hopefully the price is something reasonable to what's on offer here. It's certainly a safe bet for a new developer and I don't blame them, but I do wonder if there were any other safe bets that could have added more to the experience.
Hi everyone! I have an update from the team and screenshots of the 47484 to share. We just wanted to introduce you all to 47484 running light engine in TSW5! The artists have gone to great lengths with the detail. The nameplate, crests and numberplate are not only fully modelled in 3D, but even the screw fittings for the plates use geometry, rather than flat textures. A close up will reveal little details such as the screw heads, raised slightly against the nameplate. For such an iconic loco we wanted to pull out all the stops. Comparison Photo:

We've seen the 47 on WSR, then again on NTP and then again on BPO... although I like railtours, can't say I'm glad to see another 47 again... would've loved to see something actually new.
Keeping an eye on this, but I, for one, struggle with interest in scenarios, so even a few timetable offerings would seal the deal for me.
Ok, we now actually have a focus on the screws. I often see 'number of screws' used to represent a side of an argument that someone sees as 'you are expecting too much detail, nobody else is going to notice'. This is not a bad thing (the more detail, the better), but I found it funny that we have an actual spotlight on the screws.
