As Xbox Series X player of Train Sim World 5, I would like to know if we need to uninstall Train Sim World 4 to make sure existing owned downloadable content transfers over to TSW 5 without any issues or will the game do this automatically? Secondly I have pre-ordered the Deluxe package of Train Sim World 5 Will DLC transfer over on the Early Release Date or will we have to wait until the main launch date since I pre ordered for 5 days early access?
Everything in the Deluxe package (including Cajon Pass) will be available during Early Access. Everything else will only download on the 17th of September. TSW stores your progress locally, so I would try and keep TSW4 installed until your Compatible Content is downloaded to TSW5 to be safe, but if you can't, I think the Compatible Content progress will be transferred when you transfer your profile for the first time. EDIT: DTG Chris has given a perfect explanation below, so refer to that instead, not the above.
djgaming#7176 You don't "transfer" add-ons so to speak. It's all based on digital entitlements, which themselves are based on the purchases tied to your Xbox Account. Therefore, when Train Sim World 5 launches, you will be automatically entitled to download the TSW 5 version of the digital add-ons you own on your Xbox Account. To answer your original question. No, you do not need to have the TSW 4 installed to download your compatible content in Train Sim World 5.
