I'll probably pre-order on the day before early access.

Tbh for me it’s like the only reason I might buy deluxe because I really can’t wait for the ICE-T

On a serious note: after pre-ordering the Deluxe last year and being utterly disappointed, I am not doing the same this time. I'm taking the free option, for the future, and play standard edition on GamePass from day one. After that, I will hunt the occasional sale to buy routes that have solid reviews.

  5. Preordered, refunded. Now considering the free update as TSW3 is finally where I want it with ini tweaks and reshade. Atm I don't see a reason to 'upgrade'

Cancelled for the second time this afternoon (got a yellow card from Steam, but worth it). Even if the German and US route turned out okay, just gone right off the whole thing and the whole DTG hype and expectation machine followed by disappointment. I'll take the free update then go off and play TSC and Run 8 while waiting for Shappie to drop.

If you're playing on console and therefore can't install your old content during early access then I really don't see the point in it, you won't see any 710s on WCML and the San Bernadino first look video says it needs Sherman Hill installed to see the AI freight consists.

I would rather wait until I can experience the routes in all their glory than drive past empty tracks.

    Shappie :) cute. Chapeau!

Good idea Vern. Just got a call from my dispatcher to take over a Class 87 service from Rugby...

Oh mine went a bit more exotic than that. Decided to grab the Baldwin area for Run 8 to finish off the SE route, plus a set of cars. (No matter how many I buy, those pesky R8 default boxcars still pop up here and there). Grabbed the Very Populated… session from The Depot, 671 assorted consists and trains to work through. Should keep me busy for a while, not to mention understanding CSX train numbering which is not exactly mnemonic.

Not getting it this year have no desire or excitement for it at all.

The main thing I was interested in was fixing shadow draw distance on objects and tracks but it seems like they only sorted the tracks and it’s only in certain routes which is frankly ridiculous.

I think I’m just fatigued by the whole franchise now which is just a let’s do the bare minimum schtick on every release.

Bought the deluxe version, because it's a good deal.
Couldn't give a monkeys about early access.

I elected to pre order the deluxe edition not cos of the early access (as nice as it is), but more for the two locos. I like the Vectron enough on freight that I would relish the chance to properly take it for a passenger spin, and the 390 is the 390 (whoever called it a one-handled toy needs to see what a 390 went through at Grayrigg and reconsider their assessment). All three of the routes felt compelling enough to warrant parting with cash at the time (I am aware of the state WCML was shown to be in, but I also remember the TS Classic equivalent being torn to pieces at the time, so it's a double-edged sword), so here I am.

If San Bernardino surprises me and turns out better than I expect, I just might go for the standard pack and then cherry pick future routes like the WCMLN and MBTA. Or, if SB has major issues, the free update and so forth.

I’ll be getting the free starter pack, I think I’ll prioritise older dlc’s I have yet to purchase, currently looking to get Peak Forest, which is the last TSW3 add-on I don’t have, don’t have any intention on buying a new game after release, prefer to wait a year at least, only been playing TSW4 since July. -_-

I went with the Deluxe Edition, WCML + 390 and Frankfurt to Fulda + early access, I was sold.

And to those who have all proclaimed they are never getting TSW5 or gone down the road of Preorder, Cancel, Preorder, Cancel at least it’s a charge from Buy, Refund, Rebuy, Repeat. But we’ll see you on Day 1 just like we always do, right?!

Reminds me to place a bet on what random route overhaul will get people to cross the picket line this time (was WSR's overhaul in TSW4 for reference).

I have ordered it. I have seen the complaints about WCML and agree with most of them but to be honest, for me, off route destinations and lack of branding are minor things (I wouldn’t know what the branding should look like and thoroughly enjoy the non branded IOW22) and I rarely drive at night - I don’t see the point if you can’t see the scenery. But that’s just me, I fully respect the views of those for whom these problems are important. The route looks reasonable (though not to Goblin Line standards). I would hope the 710 and 72 stock timetables are complete or near as damn it but that’s the only real issue to me.
Looking at tonight’s stream, the San Bernadino Line looks great.

Goblin line for those that don't have it.
    It's not something I thought I'd enjoy.
Turns out to be brilliant but short, excellent night lighting too.
West Coast which I'm sure will end getting some of the items folk were having a grump about will get fixed.
There's some brilliant painters on tsw.
San Bernardino looks good, day or night.
Still not learnt the signal and safety on the German routes yet.

If you watch the night preview for San Bernardino you will notice that you can see at night if they do the lighting right.
