Just wanted to say nice job to Eddie. He had some good call outs to look at, and some good information shared. Also sounds like he had a hand in a lot of things that benefited the US content. Thank you Eddie
Agreed it was nice to have Eddie along for the stream. My only complain is him saying UP as up like the movie instead of "YouP" but thats a minor nitpick.
I think at times people likely underestimate when they're critiquing the sheer amount of time a beta tester like Eddie has probably given up out of his free time for other people. I suspect hundreds of hours. I mean to know what planes, runways they were heading to etc etc (and then someone complains a lamp is a metre too far to the left somewhere)
Eddie did a fantastic job, kudos to him. I know he's super-passionate about U.S. content, and some of the screenshots we've used in articles have also been sourced from him (as well as other brilliant beta team members).
Yup, +1 on this. He was focused during the stream, on point, didnt waffle, interjected when needed, provided great insights, and clearly has a high set of internal standards. He made me as a viewer interested in the route.
Eddie was a brilliant addition, I think they said on the stream that he had supplied the flight patterns for the aircraft, but to have chosen particular services and made notes of exactly what we would see either on track or in the air at any given moment really added to the stream. Also great to hear how much influence he had on decisions made while building the route, for example ensuring many of the industrial sidings were usable. While the British beta testers were busy leaking content, it appears Eddie was focused on ensuring the US content was as good as it could be. Thank you Eddie.
just like the british conductor on the WCML stream. Eddie was a very great addon. I have high hopes for the Kinzigtalbahn.
Indeed a huge shout out to Eddie and his contribution to the route it looks great and looking forward to playing upon release.
I was amazed by his knowledge on the route. Unless he is was following a script of some sort on the upcoming locos he passed and landmarks You can tell he’s very passionate about US content which will further improve future routes and content. Well done Eddie (thumbs up).
I quite enjoyed "Steady" Eddie's contribution to the stream, especially when he was keeping Matt on point. Nice job fella!
You can clearly see (or hear ) how passionate Eddie is about the route. Hopefuly we will see more of him in future US routes. I feel DTG needs people like him if they want to improve US content quality.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to come on here to say thank you for all the great feedback. I really appreciate it, as I have spent many hours researching and providing feedback to the Devs. They have been very receptive to my input and truly wanted to bring the best content available to the US community. It's been great seeing all the engagement on this route, it will only make future ones even better! Thanks Eddie
I wanted to chime in here to thank Eddie too. I really enjoyed his input on the preview stream and more importantly his feedback to the DTG team during the development of this route. I was honestly considering a pass on this route for now, but Eddie's enthusiasm and knowledge during the stream and presumably his input on certain route features (freight related features particularly) has me looking forward to buying the TSW5 release. Thanks Eddie!
Just want to chime in - Eddie's had a huge input to the route, but he's by far not the only one on the beta team contributing to increasing the quality of all our content. Eddie's works hard on non-US content too and others help on the US and that passion and drive encourages the team to go further as well. It's an important partnership. We have a fantastic beta team now with good representation for all the main territories - and everyone puts in a heroic amount of time and effort (though Eddie is probably far and away the most in trouble with his partner on that score :-D ) My thanks to everyone - but a special shout out to Eddie because that was his first stream and he did brilliantly Matt.
I'm curious, does the availability of knowledgeable people impact the decision on what content to develop next? I mean at least the security equipment setup (signals and stuff) and train physics setup has to be comparable to real engineering in order to work properly with all it's relations.
It's a factor. We look at what we know, what we don't know, figure out if that's enough to make the product work or if not, it goes on the back burner and we collect info in the background. At some point, it might come back to the boil again. But, it's not absolute, and we think about it from the perspective of the wider player base, not the elite that know every last bolt. Matt.
