UK Regional edition for me, along with the Pendolino when it becomes available as a separate purchase. Then I guess the Suffragette Line for the 710 layer.
For me it’s the deluxe as 1 is the pendolino an absolute must 2. In terms of what’s included in this pack as own a few dlc so no need for most expensive pack 3. Replay value I look at trains for the routes and ask myself will I get good replayability value from the rolling stocks and that’s how I make my decision same goes for new routes/dlc add ons
I plan on either getting the starter pack first, and then either the boxed version (so I can use some spare Amazon gift cards), or the deluxe edition at Christmas (as long as there is >10% discount). Hopefully by then at least some of the issues with WCML will be fixed. There aren't any features or routes that make me want it immediately
Still deciding on whether I should go for the starter pack or the deluxe edition. I’m gonna wait for more Frankfurt - Fulda info before decide.
Voted deluxe but it’s still a maybe. US route looked surprisingly good. UK route is pretty bland but I’d probably still play it. It all comes down to the German route. Plus I need to see somewhere from either DTG or an Ambassador that the terrible sound glitches on the streams are streaming issues and not in the game. It’s probably going to be a very late decision.
Deluxe has the most value for me. I own Cajon pass. 2x locos at £15 plus the standard edition at £40 comes to £60 quid. I’m saving £15 on buying one loco. No brainer. If I was new to TSW there’s no way I’d drop almost £100 on the special edition though. I’d wait for a sale.
None. I preordered the standard edition of TSW5 and then refunded. The only reason I am even following TSW right now, is for Just Trains WCML Preston - Carlisle route. DTG are practically dead to me at this point. The last two live streams were complete trash.
honestly I would just wait on the starter edition then buy one of the regional packs if you couldn't really care less about other countries.
Standard Version for me this Year. I don't need the Deluxe version because I'm not really interested in the Pendolino and if I buy the Flixtrain later It will still be cheaper then Deluxe
Free starter pack especially as a UK content player. WCML looked like it had potential but honestly I'm just looking forward to JT new route, the 104 pack whenever that actually sees the light of day and the GWE remaster. There's just not enough quality in the DTG/Rivet content for me personally
I would of got the uk region pack + pendolino and saved some money but as I don't own cajon as only bought tsw4 plus the early access the extra £10 on the deluxe preorder was worth it for me so I went for deluxe
Starter pack and then maybe a UK Southern electric or West Country route if any release. I can't stay on the East Coastway forever...
Bought on launch/preordered every game in series so far but will be the starter pack for me this time around. Hopefully some of the issues seen on the 2 streams so far will be polished up in a few months but for me waiting for a sale or improvements whichever comes first
I thought about this option but for the extra money I went for deluxe as it seemed better value for what you get compared to the individual price of the items
Why is there no option for the "free" core update? I can't vote None as I will be grabbing that and by Starter pack I presume you mean the one route Regional Editions?
Yeah that's cool. I was eyeing up that and on second glance thought it would be pointless as have no interest outside UK routes.
Is there any incentive to opt for one of the regional editions? From what I gather the price of TSW5+1 1 route will be similar to what a standard route costs without discounts.. Could someone enlighten me if I have missed somethign please?
well for me the uk edition plus pendolino would cost £45 with no discounts the deluxe for £54 with the loyalty discount on steam so just made sense to me and the standard edition with discount was £36 the route individualy will be £30 each not sure on the € or $ conversions
Free core upgrade then read all the reviews and watch the forum for the inevitable players who say they wished they hadn't paid for it! I've got a gazillion routes and scenarios still to play on TSC and TSW. Having seen the WCML stream I'm not rewarding anybody financially for producing that rushed mess. Sales are your friend.
Thanks for clarifying. Cast my vote accordingly. Though I don’t think sales are going to be very lucrative if only those who voted in the poll actually end up paying out for the game. Guess a poll like this actually proves the point that only a tiny percentage of the user base actually use the forum (or CBA to vote in polls).
Those are some limited options, I'm currently waiting for the German stream before I decide. I can't see me playing WCML much at all until they implement the whole timetable, if they never do that then it isn't worth more than a fiver. San Bernadino looked pretty good, if it was a solo release I'm not sure it would be a day one for me, but definitely a first sale pick up, so a value to me of £21 (£30 less 30% sale discount). So the deluxe is £54, the routes we've seen so far are worth, to me, a combined £26. If the German route + Flixtrain loco add-on look worth the remaining £28 then I'll pre-order that after the stream. If the German route is lacking a full timetable like WCML then I'll be waiting for the inevitiable Christmas sale, if it's a similar discount to last year the deluxe will likely cost £33 by then. Like I said at the top, the options in this poll are too limited, even many of the 'definitely not buy' camp will probably pick the standard version up for £8 in next summer's sales, especially if there are actually complete timetables by then.
Cool, so if I decide to wait for the Christmas sale am I voting for 'definitely not buy' or 'deluxe' because that's what I would buy at Christmas?
For me, the UK Regional plus the 390 for £45 makes the most sense as I'm not fussed about the US/DE content, but for now I'll probably just snag the free starter pack as an insurance policy and wait for a sale, then if an add-on comes along which looks better than the WCML route, I'll be able to jump in to that without having to buy any of the core routes.
It is the Starter Pack for me - the times, giving money to game companys in advance for a unfinnished, sub par (too short, low traffic, boring A to B without real terminated routes) product should be over, hoping that the flaws will be fixed in the future. No, bring a decent product to the market, and show me, that it works and then I might buy it, if I think it is attractive for me.
I personally do not intend on buying any recent DLC’s/content, so I’ll be getting the free starter pack, and buy some older DLC’s that will be cheaper and will have (hopefully) little to no bugs, but this is TSW…
Well I know steams trains plane auto fest starts on 16th the day before official launch of tsw5 hoping I can pick up a few of the older uk routes on sale like Fife and peak forest especially as peak forest has a extension in the works on the tsw5 roadmap
Yes, K suppose since you’re interested in the Pendolino, this choice makes sense for you. Now, I am really only interested in the German route, but from what I figure the TSW Regional Edition is pretty much prisewisr identical to the Free Starter Pack + one of the routes bought separately without discount. So I wonder, what’s the point of getting that edition and for DTG offering it?
- i don´t have interest into the US line - the UK Line is too short - not big interest too - the German line seems to be good - i want the Flix too - i dont need Cajon because I own already it I will get the two german contents but on sale.
The TSW5 Free starter edition, as I'm not into modern routes or trains. Probably get the J.T. Shap route in a sale if it's not too buggy.
For routes from Just Trains you dont need expect large bugs. Blackpool Branches was an absolute masterpiece! They are so precisely in what they do.
well i changed my mind and recently got myself a standard edition instead. And then later down the line i will get myself the class 390. its just more worth it with money with current discount for 3 routes. in my currency the price difference for regional pack/one of the route for TSW5 + 390 is like 30 (hong kong) dollars away between standard plus the class 390. Even though the case would be that i wont be touching the American and German stuff because its so complicated that i dont know how to drive them at all.
