Who is ready to reinstall all there back catalogs into TSW5. I have at lease over 100 altogether. SH——this gonna take some time. So you might as well mount up your patience’s for what to come. This will take approximately a few hours. Drink uh cup of coffee. Watch some old TSW road map. Dam while you watch the time you’ll scroll down your list and yet still have a lot of dlc downloading. Good luck.
At the moment planning to do some trimming when I grab the free update, try and eliminate the routes I never hardly play. The complication is layers or dependencies on to other routes. For example Sherman Hill, I rarely touch but have been told the locos from that layer elsewhere. About the only route that is self contained is IOW 2022 but then it’s rumoured the Class 230 base model will be required to get the original D78 stock from which they were converted, to appear as AI on GWE Remastered at Ealing Broadway. Then the German stuff… HRR, MSB and RRO candidates for the chop but the first is home to the original 101, second probably has layers to other routes and the third is the native territory for the G6. Even WCL - are we going to need that wretched 150 as a base (hopefully remastered) for the Cardiff City route? It goes without saying that I will be installing all the BR Classic routes and BPO as a priority. The modern Electrostar routes, ho hum but immediately you feel a twinge at forking out for items like the Class 700 just to discard them. Route collecting is a bit like book or CD hoarding. Sit on the shelf for years gathering dust, but when it comes time for a clear out you can’t bring yourself to do it.
The other key point, is if on Steam don’t tick all the DLC to download at once as unless you can leave the PC on until it finishes, the thing gets into a restart from the beginning loop if you disrupt the download and verification process. Take it two or three items at a time.
Hey Vern, have a look at this spreadsheet that has all the layers listed. I introduced it in my video last night
Yeah I’m a collector in about almost everything. Not saying it a hobby. For the majority of the time it all kick back and relax. Always enjoy something new seeing how it work. Most of the time I play time table service mode. I fire up the Xbox and turn on TSW4 do some on foot. Yet I play as the passenger set inside the train. Then it my turn to clock in then do my own service. After I’m done with my service I just let TSW4 run through out the night to morning. Hearing few train run during the night not much. Come time morning hit in then I can hear passengers service. But wow having to load all these trains back in is uh Neil in the coffin.
My question. If I don't check the route box (I'm talking about the Steam platform), will the associated DLC locos be visible in the TSW? Example: the DB BR 204 is a DLC loco associated with the MSB route (which I purchased). If I don't check the MSB box (so this route won't appear in the route selection in the game), will the BR 204 be visible in the levels of another route or as a BR 204 selection in Free Roam?
Yes it will be. (Just rename *MainSpessart.pak to test it yourself) I will just let Steam download everything overnight.
On steam there is an option to play and download at the same time. So if you play a route and thats not have any extra layers or you have them all installed you can play and let the rest in download in the background. This process works very well i have do that sometimes.
Yeah, this takes long time for me, the only thing i don't have for now is only the 101 expert, big chanche to run out of giga, so i have to re download all dlcs time to time i play TSW5
I usually do it before bed. Get all the DLC queued up, start the download, and turn the TV off. It's usually all done by the time I get up for work in the morning and I just shut the Xbox off on my way out the door.
Thats really the point I deeply hate about TSW 5 ... downloading all the DLCs again.I really don't want to. TSW 4 took about half a day I believe ... If this is going to be the case for TSW 6 I'm done. Then the collection is going to end. I don't care if its free or not, this has to end.
So have I got this right: from their tutorial videos you have to install the tsw4 compatible version of the routes then halfway through the download you cease downloading it. Confused about the process
I do the same exact thing. Right before I go to bed just leave it on. Until I get up it was almost done. but being that I had over 100 Gz it insane
If you own TSW3 or prior then you need to claim TSW4 versions of the routes you own before you can claim the TSW5 version, I'm guessing the entitlement to the TSW5 version is only included in the TSW4 version. Thinking it through you could probably claim all the TSW4 versions now, so you only need to worry about TSW5 when it launches.
All loco DLCs produced before TSW3 were tied to a route and in the case of the 204 (which is a TSW/TSW2020 release) it is tied to MSB. MSB will need to be installed to access the 204 For loco DLCs released after TSW3, the DLCs are essentially tied to the training centre and can be installed by themselves without a "home" route
Additionally, didn't all the locos for every route to get the remaster treatment since then also get this unhooking performed alongside the TOD4 updates as they could be baked into the TC for the fresh versions of the routes?
It releases at 8am my time so I will start to install all DLC and by the time work is done and I get home it will all be installed. Last yeat it was about 1 1/2 hours. The only DLC I currently do not own is the Scotrail 158 and expert 101.
I don't believe so. I just tested this by uninstalling one of the remastered routes (WSR) and the WSR Class 33 & WSR Western 52 are no longer available. I think we just have to treat the TSW1/2 era loco DLCs as tied to a home route regardless of it its remastered later or not
That's curious as I swear there was a bit of song and dance by DTG about how this was a thing when they first started doing remasters
I own only all British content with the exception of Peak Forest, and all TSW 4 DLC’s except, ECML, Cargo Line Vol 1+2, Engineering Express, and the Centro Class 323; so downloading shouldn’t take up all my PS5’s space, but I will be retaining TSW4 until I’m sure TSW5 works, don’t want to discover missing layers and unplayable services. I do feel for those with nearly every DLC. I will probably put my PS5 into rest mode overnight, the wifi’s terrible here anyway. It may take all day, it took nearly 4 hours for TSW4…
I'm lucky enough to have two PS5 consoles so I have British addons on one and American and European on the other.
Cheers. Don’t have it to hand just now but if you look in the description of the video on YouTube the link is there mate
