Greetings, I would like to see South African Dams(lakes) in this game, i see all these fishing games, but none of them ever think to have a true South African fishing experience, because we like our fishing here, we have a few major lakes that could be used to great effect in your game such as the Gariep or the Vaal dam. We also have our own way of catching carp, using mieliebom, which is a type of fish feed you put on a weight or spring along with floaties of varying flavours, we also use dip, which can be described as a goo, but it varies in viscosity from water-like to a molasses consistancy. The main people manufacturing these products are Supercast and conoflex as well as a few others. We also use a wooden box called a viskas(like a tackle box that holds everything from line to floaties and dips as well as the rigs you use.) We have our own fishing championships called the elite series where anglers from across the country compete to win money and other prizes. I would like to see this in the game some day
South Africa isn't a region that we had considered before. It isn't in our current plans to have a South African lake but if we were to build one we would want to look in to using the methods of fishing like you have described to make it feel more authentic.
We also have mirror carp and leather carp, with minor fish such as the Cape Kurper, mudfish and mullet.
One would rather cover the whole spectrum of South African fishing with dams(lakes) like Loskop Dam or Albert Falls dam that have trophy size carp, catfish, largemouth bass, yellowfish and kurper(Tilapia). Loskop Dam and Albert Falls Dam are hands down the two best fishing destinations in SA. South Africa is also part of the FLW when it comes to bass fishing and one can go on to qualify for the Forrest Wood Cup through FLW South Africa. Will be awesome if Dovetail can add a South African Lake or two..
