The ICE TDs were not only retired, they mostly dont exist anymore. From the 20 trainsets that were build, two are still in service as ,,Advanced Trainlab'' (Tz 5517 & 5519). However Tz 5519 is parked at the moment, due to expired inspections. Another two sets (Tz 5505 & 5510) are used for spare parts. Tz 5516 belongs to the DB Museum in Koblenz and is unable to move under it's own power. Tz 5501 still belongs to DB Fernverkehr and is stored in Halle-Ammendorf, also unable to move itself. It's not planned ro reactivate them. The other trainsets were scrapped a few years ago.

That sounds like a perfect solution - both bringing the players with the TSW2 BR 101 the ability to use that layer - and let players with the expert 101 to utilize that product! How do you know that it will be implemented in that way?

There was a Q&A for the BR 101 Expert and they said that future routes with a BR 101 layer would use the TSW2 BR 101 in the original timetable and then work with TSG to add a copied timetable that uses the BR 101 Expert

I am very excited for this route. I think it will be the most busy german route of TSW's story. I hope there won't bad surprises as when Rush Hour Dresden-Riesa was launched for TSW 2

The ICE T sound is unfortunately not perfect in the game, like until it accelerates from 0 to 40 it's pretty accurate, but then sounds like the ICE 3. It would be great if you could fix that in the future.

two things I picked up from the stream so far (it is very long, so I am going to go through it bit by bit and react as I watch):

    1) They mentioned they are going to add Expert BR 101, and since this one looks to have not one but TWO LZB sections, it would be great if the AFB reset thing worked properly... good thing is cwf.green knows about it, so it might get fixed, we just dont know when... till then we will have to pretend and do the prototypical procedure in "pretend mode" :)

    2) As Matt (I believe it was him driving ICE-T) he was turning on safety stuff, there was some weird system which I havent remembered (NeiTec or sth), then the usual fare of Sifa, PZB, LZB and the tilting GNT... what I havent seen is GST... cos on 612, you have GST, which enables like 2° of tilting, and then you turn on GNT, which gets that up to 8°

In the stream they mention that base tilting is turned on automatically, but you have to turn on GNT to get those 8°... so in ICE-T you have no GST?

or is NeiTec pretty much the same as GST?

GST is NeiTec. And on both, the 612 and the 411, it is completely independently usable from GNT for gameplay reasons. No 2° comfort tilting, always 8° dependent on the angular velocity (not the actual speeds).

ooooh, ok, just wanted to be sure cos it can be a source of a little bit of confusion :)

so GST is the actual tilting (hardware) and GNT is the computer thingie that controls it / allows higher speeds (software), right :) ?

Not exactly. GNT is a safety system, which overrides the PZB speed restrictions, which is used on tilting trains. It permits higher limits at certain locations, and also enforces those higher limits. It does not control the tilting system or anything like that.

so Neitec + GNT should get you full 8° of tilting? :)

At frankfurt hbf and any station on frankfurt fulda, I can't seem to hop onto the 423. Could the step up be implemented so I can hop onto the train

I’m assuming you get the 8 degrees of tilt if you activate NeiTec, and you can get the same tilt with the realistic safety system experience if you activate GNT. I only had NeiTec active yesterday and definitely got the full tilt :D

I guess GNT then allows for higher speed limits than normal, I guess? :) but yeah, I am the guy who has to have everything on, even if it does jack...., like on Antelope :D

thanks to some explanations I now understand what GST/NeiTec and GNT do, but my initial confusion stemmed from not seeing GST pop up on the stream (as you remember, on 612 you had to activate GST and GNT to get full tilt and everything)... so thankfully Maik explained that NeiTec IS in fact GST... or as I have found on German Wiki: upload_2024-9-13_20-54-10.png more on that HERE

Neitec is then just an abbreviation for Neigetechnik :D

Yeah, it just depends on how realistically they implemented everything into TSW. Wouldn’t be surprised if simply activating NeiTec (without GNT) allowed you to get full tilt and the higher speeds without safety system interference for those who prefer a more casual experience.

so since feedback thread hasnt been set up yet, I got a few questions/discussion points for you guys:
    1) This signal right here, or repeater (?):
    upload_2024-9-14_1-6-23.jpeg
Isnt this one supposed to have a magnet next to it? Or is it just there as a reminder that a major slowdown is around the corner?

    2) For some reason, I guess I didnt watch the preview stream closely enough, I thought that having everything on will make GNT regulate my speed :D ... so I was kinda surprised when I got GNT intervention/penalty that got me from 160 down to like 80... so I returned to the stream and noticed that Matt used AFB to slow down to 130 and it wasnt GNT doing that lol :D

    3) LZB/PZB transition AFB reset procedure - does it work for you guys? Here it looks like the prototypical procedure works, although the traction lock icon doesnt appear, nor does the train start slowing down to 0 if I dont do anything - shouldnt it like set the AFB speed to 0 if you dont reset it (which I do, of course, but I am also trying to test stuff out)?
I mean, sure, it doesnt let you apply power until you do the reset, but still :) Or maybe on ICE-T it prototypically just doesnt let you apply power?

    4) LZB/AFB interaction when braking/slowing down/stopping - if you just let LZB do its thing, I guess it should stop you before red signal? I did brake on my own accord, and I almost ran the red signal - does that mean that I overrode the LZB braking by manually braking? (I know OpenMinded mentioned sth about this in other thread:
(This was from Semmeringbahn feedback thread I believe)

as you can see (again), my OCD tendencies didnt disappoint even now, when I should rejoice new tracks and toys to play with :)

I also noticed that not every red light has a 500hz magnet, somewhere after the LZB zone towards Fulda.
Not sure if it is reality or not :)

For question 2: GNT only allows you to drive faster when it is enabled. You still have to brake yourself and even acknowledge some pzb signals (gnt is built on top of pzb)

Question 3: you have to put AFB to zero and back, and also power to zero and back

as for your answer to point 3 - I know the procedure... but on some trains it shows traction lock in the miniHUD, and on some trains if you dont reset AFB, it starts braking to 0 after a bit of time, which it doesnt do here... so I am just making sure that the train has correct behavior :)

that quote from cwf.green that said "In real life it will wait 10 seconds and then start braking to 0 km/h" apparently only applies to BR 101 (non-expert)... tested it with BR 403 and it just didnt let me apply power until I reset the AFB

so this is maybe a better phrased question then - this quirk/feature of AFB when leaving LZB and transitioning into PZB... if you dont reset the AFB within a certain timeframe, then it takes 0 kph as the "new speed" and starts braking, unless you reset it... is this sth exclusive to BR 101 or does this (or SHOULD this) work also on other LZB/AFB equipped locos/trains?

edit: or maybe other phrasing - when LZB transition into PZB happens (whilst driving with AFB), and for whatever reason you dont reset AFB, should AFB start braking as if the AFB value was ZERO (after a couple seconds)? Or is this only a BR 101 thing that ICEs dont do

so kinda like implementation of TVM on TGV Duplex, where the TVM still worked but didnt enforce stuff... I can confirm tho that with Neitec off, the train doesnt tilt, and with Neitec on, it tilts fully... if with GNT off you are allowed those higher speeds, I havent had time to test that yet (might try when I get back from work)

as for AFB and brakes interaction, tried speeding up to 160, then setting the AFB to 80 to see how much braking force it would apply... then I applied 1A brakes, and it overrode the AFB braking... so this looks like it works :)

Don’t have the route yet myself but judging by the lack of a Ne 2 board, this is a repeater - so no magnet. However, the white Kennlicht in the upper left corner is not illuminated as it should be.

when I get home from work, I would like to test the implementation of tilt/GNT... so I will do at least a partial run with Sifa+PZB+LZB, but with both Neitec and GNT set to OFF, then another with ONLY Neitec and then another with everything ON... will write down the speed limits the game shows :) and probably let you guys know :)

There is an item "Quick Bar" on the right screen. After you click it, the AFB item appears.

I see an issue with that, though, as a timetable copied from the default 101 wouldn't include any cab car services

I assume the whole timetable will be copied except for the 101 services.

BTW, many thanks to DTG for finally giving us m-Wagen, the mainstay of DB long-haul and regional passenger service for decades before the Dostos came in. And still valid for IR and (if refurbed) IC coaches in the 1990s (LFR)
